I Have a Confession: Contestant Two, Your Big Mess Up - The Admittance

Recap:

"Yeah.. Well, maybe it's time to tell her. But, it's up to you Al. We can tell her our story, and tell her to tell us hers. It can be an equivalent exchange." Ed smirked. "Just like alchemy. Anyway, do you have any idea what you're going to do, Al?"

"..N-no....."

"Well, you better think fast, because here comes Michi," he said, pointing to the side of the restaurant, where Michi was, heading towards them.

"Brother, can you make something out of the spaghetti and milk so she doesn't know I dumped it out?"

"Sure," he said casually, placing his hands on the ground in front of the mess. A blue light flickered, causing Michi to stop in her tracks. She shielded her eyes, wondering what Ed was making now.

"Here," Ed said, tossing the object to Al. "Give that to her."

"Wh-wha? But it's a......."

------------------------------------

Michi ran over to them. "What was that light?!" She asked, looking around. "And, what was it you wanted to show me, Al?" she blinked innocently.

Al seemed nervous. His hands were behind his back, holding.. Something, Michi was sure of it. Whatever it was, it was probably what Ed had been making. Therefore...... She had to know. What was it? Shaking her head, she put on an 'innocent' smile. "Heya Al, whatchya got to show me?" she asked, smiling, and leaning closer to him.

If Al had been any more nervous, he would've ran away screaming, never looking back once. As it was, he jumped, not expecting her to do that. "AAH!! -- U-uhh... I-I-I..... F-follow me.." he trailed off awkwardly, walking away.

Michi raised her eyebrows, but she decided not to comment. Instead, she tentatively took a step toward the shaking metal boy. "Al? What was it you wanted to show me?"

He looked incredibly nervous. Michi shook her head and sighed. Just what was going on anyway? She shook her head again to clear her thoughts, and smiled, waiting for her answer.

"O-oh... It's some place in the woods. O-oh, and h-h-here......." He held out something in his hands.

"Huh??" Michi asked, this time completely surprised. She looked at it. It was a...........

"It's a bracelet," Al said, holding it out to her still, awkwardly waiting for her to take it.

She blinked, and reached her hand out for it, slipping it onto her slender wrist with ease. She felt lost for words, not expecting any gifts. She smiled brightly. "Thanks Al!! Now, where was this place you wanted to show me?"

AN: Okay, I just wanted to take the time here to say "OMG I AM SO SO SO SO SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING SOONER!!" A lot of stuff has been going on in my life, and with the holidays and all... This is the first real 'free time' I've had in ages. This chapter's going to be short, because the next one is honestly the one I've been waiting to write for ages. XD

Read on my dear readers! XD

Michi gasped. "OOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh Al!! It's so beautiful!!!"

Al smiled as best he could for a walking metal heap. He was glad that Michi liked his last-minute improvision. He turned to look at the waterfall that was beside them. It's noise drowned out anything she might be saying other than 'oooooooooooooooh!', but she seemed happy. Al smiled again, somehow.

Michi sat down on a blanket that Al had brought, and looked around. She noticed Al sit down next to her, but didn't turn to face him, or say a word. He had something to tell her, but she wasn't going to help him say it. He had to learn to say things on his own.

"M-Michi..?"

"Hm? What is it Al?" She asked, turning to face him. She almost gasped in shock, but managed to control her facial expression in time. Al's armor was beet-red -- his armor!! Michi hated to think not only what his face would look like had he not been 'wearing' his armor, but also just what it was he was going to tell her.

"M-M-M-Michi... I-I-I-I-I................"

"Yeeess..?"

"I-I-I-I-I-I...... .."

"Yes Al?"

"I..................."

".......Al? Is the next word 'like'?"

"I........."

"Just nod or shake your head, Al."

Al nodded. "I........"

" 'Like'....." Michi filled in for him.

"I...........L-like........"

"Yes? What do you like, Al?" she asked, looking at him curiously. No, she thought to herself. If he's going to say what I think he is, then...........

"I.......Like.......... Ilikethewaterfallit'ssoprettydon'tyouthinksoMichiIreallythinksoandIhopeyoud otoothat'swhyIpickeditoutforyouand--"

"Uh....... Wha??" Michi asked, sweatdropping.

"I like the waterfall. It's so pretty, don't you think so Michi? I really think so, and I hope you do too. That's why I picked it out for you and I want you to be happy being with me."

"O-oh.." Michi said, breathing a sigh of relief. Al must've mistaken it for dissapointment, or maybe he was just determined to say what he really felt, because the next thing out of his mouth was..

"I mean, I like you, Michi."

"Wh-wha?" Michi felt like falling over, but if she did that, not only would the poor boy be hurt, but she'd probably fall off the waterfall, too. No, falling was definately not the good idea in this situation.

"W-well.... Al....... I.."

"H-huh??" he asked. He was no longer meeting Michi's eyes. In fact, he was standing up and looking like he was ready to start a marathon.

"I....." Michi took a deep breath, then sighed. "I'm sorry Al. I don't like you.."

"O--......... Oh......" Al's voice hurt Michi terribly, but she couldn't lie to him about that. "I-I sort of figured you liked brother, but I just wanted to tell you, Michi.."

Michi blinked. "Ed? No, I don't like him either."

Al's face visibly brightened. "S-so then there's hope?!?"

Michi winced. 'Why did I just say that?! I don't want to hurt Al, but I don't want to lie either!! Why can't being kids just be simple?!' Out loud, Michi heard herself saying "Yeah, Al."

Al smiled. "Well, now that I've told you, it's time to go back. I just wanted to let you know, and I'm glad you don't hate me or anything, Michi."

"I'd never hate you, Al!"

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

They walked back into town together.

-------------------------------------------------------- -----

"Hey! There you two are!" Ed shouted. "Did you have fun?" he asked, grinning ear-to-ear and nudging his brother.

"Y-yes.." Al mumbled.

"What was that?" Ed asked, grinning wider.

"Stop it Ed! Leave him alone!" Michi said. Ed stopped, wide-eyed. Does she actually like him? Ed thought. He shook his head. "Hey, Michi?"

"Yeah?"

"Now it's my turn. I have something to show you too."

"Huh? What is it?"

"C'mon!!" Ed said, grabbing onto her hand. She didn't protest. She was too preoccupied with the feeling inside of her when he touched her hand.....
