Ok! 5th chappie! Gomen if these chapters take me so to finish. Still have that damned paper to write. And my english teacher's a bitch so I need to get it in on time. Anyway! Here's the chappie and enjoy! AND REVIEW! I only have 3...
"C'mon, sleepy head! Rise and shine!" Kiki exclaims loudly, pouncing on her. "It's almost noon, so up! Boushin wouldn't let us wake you up before now, the party pooper. He said you needed rest."
"And she did. You know how much energy it takes out of her," Kumi shoots back.
"Would you two get yer asses outta my room so I can sleep?" The kitsune asks sleepily. "And if you don't, you'll be facing on pissed off me, got it? Now OUT!"
The other two demons scoot quickly, and Natalie closes her curtains before climbing back under her covers and falling back into a peaceful sleep for a few more hours. Around eleven that morning, Boushin knocks on the door and opens it silently.
"Time to get up, Nat. Your dad told me to come get you..."
Sitting up a bit she gives him a weak glare, "Too tired... 'M goin' back to bed..." She replies before turning over and instantly falling back to sleep after pulling the covers over her head.
Boushin sighs and walks over to the side of her bed, "I didn't want to have to do it this way, but if I have to..." With that, he pulled the blankets off the bed and scoops her up in his arms. "Wakey time, Nat."
As he picked her up, she let out a small squeak and unsonsciously wrapped her arms around his neck for balance. She pouts a little before saying anything, "You didn't need to wake me up that way..."
"Yes I did, or you wouldn't have woken up at all. Now come on, it's time for breakfast."
"Well are you going to put me down first, or are you just going to carry me downstairs?" She askes teasingly, giving him a little sleepy smile.
Grinning, the prince continues to hold her and starts to walk downstairs, "I'd say that if I don't carry you, then you'll just go jumping back into bed and going back to sleep. So I think I'll just carry you if that's just fine with you."
"Fine with me. If you're carrying me, I can at least still be lazy."
He chuckles and brings her downstairs into the dinning room. The others look up and give them a strange look. Kiki just smirks before turning to Kumi who was sitting beside her, "Told you so."
"Told him what, Kiki?" Nat asks with a raised eyebrow.
"That he would end up having to carry you down in order to get you out of your bed this morning," The nekoyasha replies with a shrug. "We all know that it's next to impossible to get your ass out of bed the morning after you get a tail."
"How many of these have you seen her go through? She only has three...." Boushin inquired curiously.
"We were both there when she got her second tail about four or so years ago," Kumi answers before going back to eating his breakfast.
"Ah. So how much does gaining a tail increase your strength, anyway?"
"Umm... About the equivelant of a human training every day for about a hundred years," Kiki answers with a shrug.
"Damn..."
"MORNING EVERYONE!" Rem practically yelled as he walked into the room with his arm linked to Roan's.
"Rem... You didn't have to yell right in my ear," Roan scolds lightly. "Good morning everyone. How are you feeling this morning, Nataie? Still tired?"
"Yeah, but they won't let me go back to bed!" She replies with a cute pout.
"That's because you need to actually get used to having the added strength while you're awake," Hiei explains patiently. "You can't train in your sleep as far as I know."
"I also find it hard to train when I'm tired," Comes the grumbled retort. "Unless, of course, you're TRYING to get me killed..."
Rem chuckles and sits between his husband and Hiei, "So how's Aisu? Not getting into any mischief yet, is he?"
"No, and what do you mean yet, Remmington?" Hiei asks warningly.
Looking around innocently, the shadow manipulator smiles sweetly at the half koorime, "I don't know what you mean, Hiei! I was just asking because pets sometimes get into trouble when they first get to a new home!"
Roan gives his mate a small look from the corner of his eye, "Rem... What did you do this time?"
He just kind of twiddles his thumbs and looks down at the table, "Ummm... Nothing, Roan-koi! I already said that I haven't done anything! Dontcha believe me?"
"No."
That just gets a pout before he answers, "Fine, then! Aisu is a Makai fox."
"You mean like me and Dad?" Natalie askes confusedly.
"No, they're meant to be pets, but they're also very protective of their masters. It's almost like a very well trained dog, I guess," Rem replies with a shrug. "That, and they seem to get into a lot of trouble." He adds with a small, innocent smile.
"Remmington.... Please tell me you didn't give her something that will end up getting her killed..." Roan said tersely.
"Of course I wouldn't do something like that! I wouldn't put Nat in any real danger. Aisu will just get into things."
"That doesn't sound that bad!" Natalie replies with a smile.
CRASH!
"What was that?" Kurama asked, starting to go upstairs.
"I'll go see!" Nat dashed upstairs to find Aisu sitting beside a vase her dad had stolen a while ago. "Aisu! Who knows how old that thing was!" The tiny creature looks down at the floor looking pathetic and cute. She softens a little as she sees the sad look on her pets face. Picking him up, she sighs "Oh knock it off... You're not in trouble, you just need to keep out of things, okay?"
She gets a yip in response before she heads back downstairs to finish breakfast. Kurama looks up from his plate as she comes back down, "So what was it?"
"Aisu kind of.... Broke the vase you got a really long time ago into about a million pieces..."
The small fox gives a little yip and turns his large brown eyes to Kurama, giving him what couldn't be termed in any other way except a puppy dog look. Said former fox demon just sighs and shakes his head, "It's fine. Don't get all pouty at me."
Another happy yip follows this as Aisu snuggles into Natalie's lap while she eats, occasionally slipping some of her breakfast to her first pet. She talked to Boushin, Kiki, and Kumiko about what they wanted to do for the rest of the day.
"We could exploring. I found this abandoned cave a little ways away from here that looks like it might give us some entertainment," Kiki replies with a mischevious look. "It would be fun!"
Kumi gives her a sidewards glance before asking, "Any reason you brought this up?"
"What makes you say that?" She asks back, sounding slightly insulted.
"Actually, Hiei and I were planning on taking Natalie on a thieving mission after breakfast. And Natalie, stop feeding Aisu table scraps," Kurama his scolds daughter after revealing his plans.
"A thieving mission! Really?! Where're we going?" She asks excitedly. "And why are you letting me go now? You've never let me before..."
"You're 16 and you just got your third tail. I think you've proven you're ready to put your training to practice," Hiei replies simply as he brings his dishes to the sink. "And we're going to Yomi's old castle. His son, Shura, has taken over since then so we're not sure what sort of security we'll find there. You'll need to be fully alert for any demons of a higher class than you, understood?"
"Yes, daddy, I understand. Wait... Yomi's castle?"
"Yes, Yomi's castle. Don't worry and just remember that he's dead, Nat(1)."
"I know he is," She replies with a small smile.
"Then we'll leave when you're done eating."
"And after I get dressed! I'm not going anywhere while I'm still in my PJ's!"
This earns a chuckle from the rest of the table as she goes upstairs to change. A few minutes later, she comes back down and almost everyone except Kiki and Kumi's eyes widen.
"Natalie Ishtara Minamino what the hells are you wearing?!" Hiei demands as he sees his daughter's choice of clothes(2).
She looks down at the pair of shorts and and shirt she was wearing, "What's wrong with it? They're easy to move around in."
"You look like you're practically naked!" Hiei exclaims, causing Boushin to blush lightly.
"I do not! If I looked practically naked, I would be wearing something you could see through!" By now, one would be surprised that Boushin hadn't fainted from all the blood rushing to his face. Natalie turns to look at him confusedly before asking, "Boushin? Are you alright? You're turning all red."
"I... I'm fine..." He mumbles as he, too, sets his plate in the sink.
Rem smirks before teasing him a little, "Are you sure it's not all this talk of Natalie being naked?"
"Rem!" Roan gives him a warning look before starting on the dishes. "I'll do these while you take Natalie and Rem, Hiei. I'm sure he's itching for something entertaining to do."
"You bet I am! No offense, Kurama, but this place gets pretty boring after a while..."
"None taken, Remmie. Ready to go, Nat?" Kurama smiles at the two.
"Yup! Let's go!"
Hiei continues to grumble about what she's wearing, but doesn't protest any more as Kurama heads out and leads the group of four to what is now Shura's castle. Kurama sneaks in first, followed closely by Hiei, Rem, and Natalie. They split up, each going down a different hallway to see where they could get to.
Nat wanders through the hall, looking for something interesting until she bumps into something. Looking up, she sees a handsome young man about 20 years old with pitch black hair and lilac eyes.
"Ummm.... Hi?" The kitsune says meekly, wondering who this demon was.
One of his pointed ears twitches as he looks down at her, flushing slightly after seeing one of the most beautiful girls he'd ever met. Making his face take on a stern mask, he inquires, "Who are you and what are you doing in my castle?"
Shyly, she gives him a small smile, "My name is Natalie. I got lost in the forest and then I found this place... I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to get out of here..."
"Why so quick to leave? My name is Shura, and I would be glad to have you stay for a little while," The Makai leader replies, giving her a bow after introducing himself, recieving a blush from Natalie.
Natalie mentally rolls her eyes at this. /Flirt. Wonder what he would say if I told him that I'm engaged./
"Thank you for the offer, but I'm afraid I can't stay. I have a date with my fiance soon, so I really should be leaving."
"Are you sure you couldn't stay for a short while longer?"
"I'm quite sure. It was nice meeting you, Shura, but I really do need to get going. So the exit, if you would?"
He just nods and leads her to the door leading from the castle. Just outside, the others are waiting for her. Rem grins and says, "There you are, Nat. We were wondering where you went off to. Hiei and Kura were getting ready to dash in after you in a minute. And who's this? A new cutie to try and replace Boushin with?"
"Shut it, Rem. Umm... Dad, daddy, Rem, this is Shura. Shura, these are my parents Hiei and Kurama, and our friend Remmington."
Shura stares at Hiei and Kurama for a minute before saying anything, "I see... I hope to see you again, Natalie."
"I'm sure you will," Natalie replies with a roll of her eyes as she turns to the others. "Let's go. I'm getting hungry!"
As they leave, Rem decides to tease her, "So you have someone who has a crush on you!"
"I do not!" She blushes slightly. "Plus, he doesn't seem to like dad or daddy much."
"How could you tell?" He asks curiously.
"He just stared at them for a while and looked all pissy. That, and daddy killed his father. I know I wouldn't think much of anyone who killed a member of my family. Anyway, as I said: let's go! I'm hungry again."
"We only just had breakfast a few hours ago!"
"So?"
Kurama chuckles and replies, "It takes a while to get used to a new level. She'll be peckish for the next week or so."
"Oh... Alright then, let's go."
