AN: Wow, I dunno what happened, but I got some serious inspiration. I've already even begun the next chapter. I have a feeling I'll be getting death threats for the cliffhanger. Chapter 19- A Short Reunion

*****Ryuuin and Sahitei****

The rest of the trip to Hokkan was short, and uneventful. The two managed to avoid the dark man the entire 5 day voyage. The pair arrived in front of Kage's temple, and stood, awed by it's immense size.

"Wow… Certainly fit for a goddess… Heck, it's big enough for all of heaven…" Ryuuin said in shock.

"Now we have to find a way in…" Sahitei said.

"Damn…" Ryuuin whispered and began to search to an entrance with Sahitei.

******Houjun and Genrou******

"Oi, Houjun, you figure it out yet?!?" Genrou demanded for the millionth time since Houjun began.

"Almost. Gen-chan, we're never gonna escape if you don't stop distracting me!" Houjun complained.

"You weren't complaining when I was 'distracting' you last night, Houjun," Genrou purred.

Houjun blushed lightly.

"Genrou, we need to get out of here fast. Besides, I can sense Hotohori and Nuriko coming. We need to get out of here now," Houjun said.

"Sorry," he mumbled.

Houjun focused once more, and found the barrier was gone.

"Genrou…" Houjun whispered.

"I didn't say anything!" Genrou protested.

"No, the barrier's gone…" Houjun replied. He grabbed the door, and opened it easily.

"What the fuck…?" Genrou asked.

"Something's happening. It could be a trap, Gen-chan," Houjun warned.

"Well, I'm not staying here any longer! That's for damn sure, come on Houjun," Genrou called, running out the door.

"Gen-chan! Wait! Be careful!" Houjun called, running after the teen.

Genrou stopped short at the sight of a demonic man standing in the hallway grinning hungrily at him.

"Gen-chan!" Houjun called and stopped just before hitting him.

He followed Genrou's eyes to the demon.

"Gen-chan, I suggest we run," Houjun whispered.

Without another word, the two men turned and ran the other way. The demon simply laughed.

After running for a while, Genrou and Houjun managed to find cover in a dark room.

"It's so dark," Genrou whispered.

"Really? Maybe this will help then," a dark, sensuous voice purred behind them.

Suddenly, a hundred candles flared to life, bathing the room in an eerie, yet peaceful glow. Gulping, the two men turned around and saw the only exit was blocked by the demon.

"Who are you?" Houjun asked, trying to hide his fright.

"Akurei, demon servant to Kage-sama," he said in his rich, teasing voice.

"Why are you chasing us?" Houjun asked.

"To keep you busy while Kage-sama finishes preparations…" Akurei's eyes flashed for a brief instant.

"Preparations for what…?" Genrou asked.

"You'll find out…" Akurei said, and vanished from the door.

"What are we supposed to do now?" Genrou asked.

"We don't have much choice. We're stuck in this game until we learn of Akurei's weaknesses," Houjun answered.

"Let's go then. Maybe if we find Hotohori and Nuriko, we'll be able to take him out," Genrou suggested.

"Good idea, let's go," Houjun said.

The two left the room, unaware of the glowing eyes watching them.

*****Ryuuin and Sahitei*****

"Ryuuin, I found the entrance," Sahitei whispered.

"Where?" Ryuuin asked.

"Here. I can sense Tasuki and Chichiri's ki faintly. They're moving around a lot. We have to hurry," Hotohori whispered.

Nuriko nodded, and the two opened the door and quickly headed in the direction they felt Chichiri and Tasuki's ki.
Finally, they met up with them in front of a great door.

"Oi, Nuriko!" Genrou called.

"Shut up, baka!" Ryuuin scolded.

Suddenly the doors opened.

"Hurry, minna, something's happening," Chichiri said, his voice deeper then usual.

Everyone stepped into the dark room. Suddenly, hundreds of candles flared to life upon a shocking scene…
