Chapter 18 Visions and Plans
"Please," a weak voice pleaded.
"Stop it! No!" Ryuuin screamed.
"Too late…" a familiar deep voice whispered.
A tall man with black wings approached the kneeling goddess. Ryuuin tried to break the restraints, but they were too strong and he felt to weak. He watched helplessly as the demon stabbed the girl with his claws. She fell softly to the ground. Her last words brought tears to Ryuuin's eyes.
"Thank you," she whispered with her dying breath.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ryuuin screamed and bolted upright in bed.
"Ryuuin!" Sahitei said, running to Ryuuin's bed.
"S-Sahitei!" Ryuuin cried into the taller man's arms.
"Shh… It's ok… Ryuuin…" Sahitei whispered. He softly kissed the top of the sobbing man's head, lightly rubbing his arms. Slowly, Ryuuin's sobs calmed to soft sniffles.
"Oh Suzaku, it was horrible. This girl… she was killed by this demon. But she… she wanted to die, Sahitei. She was thanking him. I couldn't save her. I wanted to tell her no, to stop… I was so helpless…" Ryuuin cried softly.
"No, Ryuuin. We still have the chance to change everything. We can still save her… Shhhhhh…" Sahitei comforted him. Ryuuin nodded, and wiped a few tears away.
"The demon sounded like the man from yesterday… Same eyes too. I don't like him. Sahitei. I don't like him at all," Ryuuin said getting up.
Sahitei stood and turned around to get changed.
"I don't either, but we must be careful. He could be working for Kage. We need to focus on rescuing Chichiri and Tasuki," Sahitei said.
"You're right, as always," Ryuuin said and quickly changed.
******Houjun and Genrou's room******
Houjun smiled as he brushed hair off of his sleeping lover's face. Houjun watched Genrou's chest rise and fall as the sunlight slowly climbed up his body. Houjun slid his hand softly down Genrou's chest savoring the feel of his sleeping lover. His hand returned and caressed his face; Houjun was surprised when Genrou's hand met it. Genrou brought Houjun's hand to his lips and opened his eyes.
"Good morning, Gen-chan," Houjun whispered.
Genrou leaned up on his side and met Houjun's lips in a soft kiss.
"Good morning, Houjun. How long have you been watching me?" he asked wrapping his arms around the older man.
"An hour or so. You're so beautiful when you sleep, my love," Houjun whispered and softly kissed Genrou's neck. "But we should get dressed now."
"Always gotta ruin the moment, dontcha Houjun?" Genrou teased, standing up and stretching.
Houjun blushed as he looked at his lover's nude body. Genrou noticed and laughed softly.
"It's nothing you haven't seen before, koi," Genrou bent down and caught Houjun's lips in a soft kiss.
"Hai… But you're still so beautiful…" Houjun whispered. He stood up and began to gather lost articles of clothing. He stood and dropped the clothes onto the bed. He reached out for his underwear when Genrou's arms surrounded him. Genrou placed sweet butterfly kisses Along Houjun's shoulder. Houjun smiled.
"Has anyone ever told you, you can be incredibly sweet?" the blue-haired man asked.
"Nope, but I'm only nice ta you, koi," Genrou purred into Houjun's ear. He slid a hand down Houjun's chest and tightened his arms around the shorter man.
"Ne, Gen-chan, if you keep this up, we'll never figure out a way out of here. And even though that doesn't sound to bad, I don't wanna die here, and now…" Houjun said.
Genrou sighed and released him.
"We can always continue later, ne, Houjun?" Genrou teased.
"Of course, Gen-chan," Houjun laughed and quickly dressed.
Genrou watched his lover dress before putting on his own clothes.
"Any idea on how to get outta here yet, Houjun?" Genrou asked.
"Actually, yes. It'll take a few days, but… There's a weakness in the seal by the door, so she can enter the room. I think I can break it there, but we'd have to destroy the door immediately. It's gonna take time to figure out just how to break it. And since we don't have our weapons, we're at a great disadvantage. But, I think it's possible," Houjun explained.
"So basically, we're gonna bust our way out?" Genrou asked.
"Yes, basically," Houjun replied laughing.
"Then let's get started. The sooner we get back, the better," Genrou said.
Houjun nodded, sat down and began to concentrate his ki.
"Why do I have the feeling I'm gonna be incredibly bored, for a long, long time…?" Genrou complained, watching his lover try to break the barrier.
