Chapter 9

On the Run

I've realized I had to add another chapter soon or people will get confused if I do it later. Well here the ninth chapter. A little more adventure I think. Hey I've been think which couple do you want to hear more of? TakaraxTasuki, or KoujixLena? Personally Tasuki is my baby next to Kouji (plus I don't like people think Tasuki gay), so I do more of him but if you guys like more Kouji I'll give the people what they want.

"What do you mean oh shit?" Takara said. She looked at Tasuki questionably. His mind seemed to be focused on something real serious.

"But it already happened, Suzuka was already summoned," Tasuki said to himself earning an uncertain stare from his new lover.

"Tasuki what are you talking about?" Takara asked.

"We have to get to take go see Chichiri and Hotohori," Tasuki said. (An: yes Chichiri and Hotohori is still alive!) He placed Takara from up from his lap and quickly stood up and put on his trousers and his shirt.

"What? Who? Now?" Takara blurted out.

"You got to get dressed, we don't have much time," Tasuki said. He grabbed a stick from a nearby branch and lit it with fire, causing a torch. Takara, meanwhile, wasting no time, dressed at fast as she could. She didn't know what caused Tasuki to get so alarmed, but she knew it was something of a great importance. So she did what he said, even though she hated being told what to do.

"Follow me," Tasuki said. He grabbed her by the hand and dashed off into the dense woods. Takara almost tripped a couple times of broken branches and fallen trees. Tasuki was going so fast she knew she would of lost her place if it wasn't for Tasuki carrying a torch or him holding on tightly to her. They had been running for ten minutes when Takara got tired and annoyed with Tasuki's little explaining and more action. She snatched her hand bringing them to a halt stop.

"Tasuki what is happening? Tell me what is wrong?" Takara asked anxiously. She was out of breath, her chest heaving in and out.

"I can tell you now, Takara just trust," Tasuki replied. Takar rolled her eyes and held her hand. Tasuki took it and they ran off in the same direction. In another ten minutes they were at the opening of the Mount Reikaku Bandits hideout.

"T-Tasuki-chan we didn't ex-ex-pect you back s-so soon," staggered a chubby short guard. He was caught off guard and almost felled a little intimidated by the sight of Tasuki. Tasuki looked at him suspiciously and wondered how he made it through all the training. He wondered why they will even let him out to be guard. The guard got a little more nervous at the stare and stood up straight then saluted him.

"I need fast horses. Very fast horses- about three of them. I also need a carriage, with some food packed in it and fresh sheets. Do you think you could do that for me without tripping over yourself a couple of times?" Tasuki said. He let go of his now sweaty hand form Takara's hold.

"Sure Tasuki-chan."

The guard went off as fast as he could and tripped over a coiuple of steps as he entered the hideout. Tasuki shook his head. What a disgrace to the Reikaku name.

"Now can you explain to me a little bit of what's going on," Takara said exasperated.

"I'm sorry, not now. Go upstairs and pack that dress we got for you on the raid we had yesterday. I got to send someone to get Kouji and Kalena, and then I got to go get some maps. Meet me at up front in fifteen minutes," Tasuki said.

He didn't even wait for a reply and walked in the almost opposite direction he came from. Takara gingerly walked up stairs and did as told.

*******************************

Takara closed her eyes in an attempt to get some rest. Well over fifteen minutes had passed and Takara was waiting getting pissed by the minute. Cool breeze flew by causing Takara to flutter her eyes open. She looked up and could see a two horses appearing at in the horizon. She stood up and make out the picture of one with a man on it and one with a woman and a man riding. Takara knew instantly one must have Kouji and Takara on the horse.

"Sorry I took so long."

Takara turned around to see a more settled Tasuki who had just spoken to her. He looked as if a tornado whirled threw him. Takara giggled at the thought almost forgetting she was tired, confused, and now hungry.

"Where are we going?" Takara asked.

"To Konan," Tasuki replied.

"Can I at least know why?" Takara asked. She doubted she would get a satisfying answer. The horse were no at the gates. They stopped and the people riding the horse got off.

"I will tell you when we it's time, I promise. Just trust me," Tasuki said.

"Tasuki what the hell is going on?!" said Kouji. Tasuki didn't know he would be this angry.

"Calm down Ko-man we have to send the girls to go see Hotohori and Chichiri," Tasuki answered.

"Why?!"

"Because they may be mikos."

"How?!"

"Because Takara recalls someone speaking to her about summoning something. The same thing happened to Miaka. I think by Taiitikun." (An: I know it never happened but pretend.)

"But they were already summoned last year," Kouji said confused.

"I know but we got to take them to see him as soon as possible we may not have much time left."

"How long do you think we have?"

"'bout four more days since six already passed."

"We're taking them now?"

"Yea but you have to stay behind and watch the hideout."

"Fine give me five minutes to talk to Kalena."

"Alright five, we'll be at the stables," Tasuki said turning away.

"Kouji I don't want to leave you," Kalena said. She had listened attentively to their conversation.

"Don't want ya to either," Kouji said.

"Come."

"Can't."

"How long will I be away?"

"Not very long," Kouji said unsurely.

"Love you."

"Love you too," Kouji said turing to leave, but quickly turned back.

"Look if I don't see you again-" Kouji began.

"Why would I ever see you again?"

"If I don't ever see you again, don't forget me, you took my heart away just a few days. I would remember you for a lifetime. I love you," Kouji said. Those words brought tears to her eyes.

"I will see you again, alright," Kalena said optimistically. She brought her lips to miss his. They kissed they were never going to see each other again. This brought tears of both sadness and happiness. Kouji broke form the kiss reluctantly and walked her to the stables. He kissed her one last time before letting her into the carriage. Then they were off.
