Fushigi Yuugi Fan Fiction ❯ From Him to You ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )
Disclaimer: I don't own Fushigi Yuugi.
This idea kinda surfaced during English one day, and I thought of twenty different ways to carry it out. However, I still quite a lot going on in my life, so I can't finish it now. The most I'm asking for is an email or review telling me that someday, this is definitely worth writing. If you like it, great. If you don't, sorry. All you need to know is that I'm not going to continue for quite some time, so don't kill me at the end. Sorry! Italizied words are internal thoughts, and I think it's kinda easy to tell who's thinking...
~~~~~~~
"What did I do?" He stared off into space, as the others tried to tell him that his worries were nothing. "I... didn't. Did I?"
"Calm down no da. It wasn't your fault. Someone took advantage of you no da." Seeing the look upon the other man's face was enough for him to finish his last statement a different way. "He or she took over your mind. You couldn't do anything no da." His eye shut momentarily as he sighed, trying to find a way to tell the other man to calm down.
It was then that a figure fell from the ceiling. The other two men regarded this as nothing, despite the figure's ghost-like appearance, and his ability to float above the ground.
"Why are you worrying Tasuki? Miaka said she was fine earlier, and you should take that and get on with your life. Miaka doesn't care about herself; She cares about you and how you're doing!" Seeing the look upon the young man's face made the ghost man smile a bit. "Now don't worry. Miaka wasn't hurt, and even if she was, Mitsukake would have take care of her; Taka would have take care of her. We all will take care of her."
After hearing the last statement, the young man stood up. "Why... why would she want us to take care of her? I mean, she's got Taka, don't she?"
"Tasuki, calm down no da! Listen to Nuriko. Miaka wouldn't have said all of that to you earlier if she didn't care about you no da."
"Chichiri's right. You're like a brother to Miaka."
"But she ain't like a sister to me."
~~~~~~~
"Miaka, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." A young, green haired man locked his fingers with the brown-eyed girl next to him, both of which were lying on the same bed together, each of their legs stretched out and entangled together.
"Calm down. Nothing happened, and we can't change the past. Now relax Taka." She gave a reassuring smile to the man, which he didn't buy.
"But what if-" The girl interrupted the boy by placing a thin finger over his lips, which continued to mouth the words to the rest of his sentence, while his voice seemed to disappear.
"Nothing happened Taka. Now don't worry about me. You got hurt, and you need to get better soon. If you keep worrying, you won't get better as soon as we'd like you to." She lightly kissed the face of the man in front of her, and she took the man's hand again, and held it tightly.
As the two sat together, they just stared at each other, wrapped up in their enamorous glances, trapped- quite pleasantly- in their own little world, not caring for much around them. The two spent a good deal of time trying to forget the events from earlier, as they fussed over each other, acting as if they were a married couple, despite the fact they weren't. It wasn't until the man had fallen asleep that the girl rose from her position on the bed she shared with him presently, and left the room.
I wish I knew how Tasuki was doing. No one will tell me anything, but I need to know. I was there, I saw how badly he took everything, and they lock me up in a room, expecting me to be content with, 'he's fine'. Why isn't anyone telling me what is going on? I'm old enough to understand.
As she crept through the halls, stopping every so often, hiding when appropriate, she finally reached her destination of choice. Smiling, she knelted next to the door, listening for anything inside the room. Hearing nothing, she smiled, and pushed her brown hair out of her eyes before standing, and quietly opening the door. Only seeing a man on a single bed in the room made her smile widen slightly, and she crept forward as she tried not to wake the sleeping man. Then, when she reached his bedside, she quietly sat down upon the wooden chair next to the bed. Lovingly, she stared at the man's face, presently half covered by his pillow, showing that he was obviously a wild sleeper. As he continued to sleep, she just stared, until she grew braver, and her hand began to slowly brush his face, and she ran cautious fingers through his wild hair.
"Tasuki... I'm sorry." Her bravery finally got the best of her, and she spoke, soft enough so her words weren't heard fully, but still loud enough for someone to know she had said something. "I'm so sorry... if I hadn't... if I didn't... I'm sorry!" Tears streamed down her face as finally the emotions she held back came out in the form of tears. She cried almost soundlessly, trying not to wake the sleeping man before her, all the while not trying to stop herself from crying.
As the girl before him cried, the man slowly woke up from his peaceful slumber, and he slowly opened his eyes, until he saw the girl. He thought he heard her voice in a dream, but seeing her in front of him confirmed the fact that she was beside him, that she was right there. Trying not to alarm her that he had woken up, he tried to move a bit, so she didn't know his eyes were open. However, his plan backfired when he realized that both her hands were on his face, with most of her fingers tangled between his flame-colored strands of hair, and her thumbs rubbing his temple, as if she wanted him to wake up.
What is Miaka doing in here? I thought Chichiri said they'd keep her out of here! It's not like I hate her... I just don't want to put her through the same shit I did to her earlier! Did she come in here herself? Probably not- Taka would know if she did come in here. But why is she in here? Damnit! Would she leave! If she doesn't...
"I'm sorry I couldn't help at all; I really am. I wish I could've done something, I really do. And why did you have to try to hurt yourself like that? You really scared us. I was so scared that you might've hurt yourself then. You're one of my closest friends, and you can't do this to me. Not now... please, don't do that again."
I really scared her, didn't I?
"Promise me Tasuki, that you won't do that again. Promise me!" She bent her head down, as her sobs were now louder than earlier, and her voice was raised slightly. The man raised his hand, and put it down, as if resisting the temptation to stroke her hair, and relive her of all her worries. He did this same motion quite a few times, changing his mind every few seconds on whether to calm the girls tears, or to remain 'asleep'. Finally, when she laid her head upon his chest, and she sobbed into his heart, he finally relented from all self control, and his arms reached up, and wrapped themselves around her tightly, telling her that everything was alright in his own way. She gasped, shocked. She thought that he was still asleep.
"Shh... Don't cry. I told ya I wouldn't let ya cry anymore, and here ya go. Don't cry." He released his grip around her a bit, and felt her chin rise, so she was now staring him in the face. They stared at each other; not letting their gazes let go of the bond their eyes held. Finally, when all the thoughts in his head stopped, he did the one thing he had wanted to do since he met her, but didn't have the guts to do.
He kissed her.
Wha... is Tasuki... he can't be, right?
Wait, did I just...
His lips released hers, and he stared at her, watching her eyes. Where they once held the spark of innocence was now where confusion, fear, and curiosity reigned. He knew that she has been through more than most girls her age had had to deal with, and that's why the innocence wasn't there, unlike most girls her age. But, after those few years apart, he could still see a dash of innocence that had once been destroyed.
"Miaka, look... I don't... I..." Trailing off, he had no idea how to tell her all he wanted to say. He wanted to say that he was sorry for everything. He wanted to tell her that he would always be there for her, whether or not she wanted him to be. He wanted to show her how much she meant to him.
But mostly, he wanted to tell her that he loved her. And he wanted to hear her say it back.
Meanwhile, she had been sent into shock. Confused about everything, from the events at the inn that seemed so long ago, to the fact that she was on top of him now, his arms holding her tight to him, she tried to reason every little thing inside her mind.
Tasuki really does love me, doesn't he?
Smiling, she lifted her face up slowly, trying not to shock him, but still wanting to see him. As his face came into full view, she noticed certain things about him, things that she had never bothered to see before. As she stared, she looked at the strong proportions of his face, from his cheekbones to his not easily seen hairline, due to his unruly hair. His mouth was in a line, not smiling, but not frowning either. His nose was just perfect for the frame of his face, she noticed, as her gaze moved up. Finally, she reached his eyes, each one filled with pain, confusion, but mostly love. Continuing to look into his eyes, her heart swelled with love for the young man, and she smiled at her own discovery of how much he truly cares for her.
"Tasuki..." she grabbed his attention at the sound of her voice, and he listened to her intently, curious to see why she had called his attention. "Tasuki, please don't apologize for anything, including last night. I don't care about it."
Don't care? Why not? Why doesn't Miaka care about last night? I almost fucking raped her!
"Tasuki... I know it was you who did all those things last night, but it wasn't you. You were... it just wasn't you. I knew it then, and I still know it now. You would never, ever try to hurt any of us, especially me. And you really, really scared me when you almost killed yourself, just for our sake. Don't do it again. Just promise me Tasuki. Promise me that you'll never do that again, and you will always, always be with me. Promise?"
Does she... understand...? Always? But what about Taka?
"Miaka, I can't." A sharp look from her gave him the reason to continue his statement. "You have Taka."
"That's not the point."
"Then what is the point?"
"I care too much about ya to lose you, and if I did lose ya..." She immediately began to tear up again, and he instantly forgot why he had argued with her only moments ago. The only thoughts in his mind were her, and her tears.
"Shh... Don't cry. Don't cry. If it really means that much to ya, then I won't leave ya. I promise I'll always be there with ya."
"You promise?"
"I promise." She smiled so widely, so broadly, and he took it as a good sign. Only, he didn't see what he got for promising to be with her.
She kissed him, shocking him more than anything else had.
Of course, he had good reason to be shocked. She was dating the same man for... seemingly forever, and he had never seen any feelings for any other man besides him displayed by her. He, a woman hating man, would never have been the expected one of her sudden display of emotions. Never.
But, opposites always attract, don't they?
As the two continued to kiss, they slowly grew more passionate, more loving. What started out as a short kiss soon grew to be longer, and more sensual. When she opened her mouth, he slid his tongue in to meet with hers, and he soon felt as if he was in heaven, or something akin to that. He wrapped his arms around her tighter than they had been before, but not tight enough to scare her. She ended up wrapped her arms around his neck just after, and deepened the kiss, much to his surprise. Slowly, as the kiss deepened to the point of no turning back, that this would change the friendship they had built up so easily, he stopped it.
"Tas... Tasuki... what are you..." Trying to catch her breath, she asked repeatedly on why he had stopped what the both of them seemed to want to show, to give to each other.
"I can't... not with Taka, I just can't..."
"Then just tonight, please. Tasuki... please, just for me, if only for me. Just..." Looking at her, seeing her pleading eyes, watching her gasp out the words made his want, his desire, for her grow even stronger than he thought he could control. Never had he thought that he could want a woman this strong before.
But, then again, who thought that it would end up like this, with Miaka wanting me?
Turning her over, so she was on her side, as well as him, he swiftly, yet gently, pressed their lips together, telling her silently that he was hers for the night. She smiled into the kiss, and deepened it yet again, and he responded quickly, happy that it was she who was in his arms, loving him to tenderly, so freely. To him, it was that that made life, for this moment, the greatest thing to ever occur.
As the time went on, the two grew more and more sensual, and the need for more grew. Finally, when he felt that he couldn't take anymore, he trailed soft, slow kisses from her lips to her ear, to her nose, to the apple of her cheek, to her jaw line, to her chin, down her neck... There was no pattern of the path he made, he just went where it felt right. But he noticed that, with each kiss, she clung to him, tighter and tighter, wanting more of him. He smiled at her reactions, and continued his slow path, now moving towards her collarbone, sprinkling kisses here and there. As he did this, he slowly undid the buttons on her shirt, as painful as it was for him. Finally, when her shirt was fully undone, he pulled it off, revealing only her bra and the soft, barely tanned skin underneath her shirt. Smiling slightly, but remembering who she was, and who was the one who had her love before tonight, he stopped, and looked up.
Sensing his doubt on whether to continue, she opened her eyes, and stared at him, knowing why he had stopped. "Go. I don't care. Tonight, it's just us. And only us. Just..." Her last words were swallowed by his strong kiss, and she knew that, from this point on, it wasn't going to be the same it always had. From then on, she would have to deal with what came in the future, whether someone found out about them... or the one who loved her so much. She doubted that no one wouldn't find out, but she knew that, inside her heart, that she wouldn't have to deal alone. He was there, with her at this very moment, and once she was with him, they would always be together, and he wouldn't allow her to face any of her demons alone- be them real, or problems that would someday, unfortunately, soon would present themselves.
~~~~~~~
"Tasuki... Tasuki..." He heard her voice, soft and perfect, seemingly far off. He tried to stay in this perfect dream, where it was only he and she, together for all of time, but the voice called his name again. "Tasuki, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but I can't stay. I'm just so sorry... please understand. But, I am yours, and as long as you wish me to be, I will always be with you. I'm sorry." Then, the voice was gone, and he heard the almost silent sound of a door slamming. And he drifted back off to sleep, until something woke him up, and he realized the voice wasn't a dream, that she actually left him. He knew why, but it still hurt. He hadn't expected her to leave with him asleep, but he knew she had to leave. He just didn't expect it to be like that, especially with a night like last night...
~~~~~~~
"Tasuki, is there anything troubling you?" The red-haired man looked at the ghost with sad, almost lifeless eyes. "You do know that everything with Mia-"
"I know, godamnit! Would everyone knock it off with that!?" He then stomped off, away from his friend, who presently was floating in mid-air. As he walked away, another, smaller, ghost appeared, and spoke to the other.
"Don't worry, Hotohori-sama. I'm sure that Tasuki's upset about what happened last night. If anyone went through that sort of thing, they wouldn't snap back to reality easily."
"Thank you, Chiriko. I'm sure that, if you were still alive- with no offence to you, of course- you would have made a wonderful official." The young boy reveled in this complement, and the two continued to talk about nothing in particular, just enjoying the calm, sunny day.
~~~~~~~
"Miaka, are you sure you're alright?"
"I'm positive, Taka!" She put on a mask, not revealing to anyone her night. She was afraid of the consequences that might happen, if anyone had found out her night visit to a friend.
Mostly, she was worried about how her first love might react, if he found out. Right now, his existence was fragile, and if he thought that there was another chance of her cheating, and going behind his back (with one of his closest friends, nonetheless!), he might leave, and just disappear from existence itself.
"You've been acting strange all day though. You haven't left the room at all, and you barely ate breakfast or lunch. Are you sure there isn't anything going on between you and Tasuki?"
Am I caught? Does he know anything?
"No, no, no!" Sounding too fake, sounding too high pitched, she spoke quickly, almost giving the game away. "Everything's just fine! Really. I just don't... I don't want Tasuki to feel upset about last night!" Sighing, she hoped that he would understand.
"Alright..." He almost seemed to take it, and she sighed, relieved. "Do you want me to get anything from the kitchen?"
"Sure." Waiting to see if she wanted anything in particular, he stood, seemingly rooted to the ground. "I don't care what you get me, Taka. You know me, I like everything!" He smiled, and leaned over her for a kiss, which she gave quickly. He stopped for a moment, noticing how seemingly cold her kiss was, but shrugged it off, and walked away.
What happened there? I love Taka, don't I? Why was that kiss so short? I don't get it. Does it have something to do with Tasuki? No, it couldn't... right? It was only a one-night stand, just to relive whatever emotions I have from then.
Then why am I still thinking of him?
Then, there was a light, yet noticeable knock on the door. She went over to open the door, puzzled at who was there, and was shocked to see the one person who was trapped inside her mind and thoughts.
"Miaka, listen to me."
"Look, I said sorry to you when I left."
"I heard. I thought I was dreaming."
So he heard.
"Look, I have no idea what happened last night in your mind, and I really don't care what you remember. All I want to know is if this is going to continue, you and me."
"I... I don't know. I really don't."
"Then I'll give you this: I won't try to hurt your relationship with Taka, but I want you to know that I care too much to just let go of you so easily. If you ever need me, you know where I'll be." He then walked away easily, and left her there. She gasped at his sharp movement, and leaned against the doorframe, until she heard a sound inside the room. When she looked inside, she saw nothing, but she heard the sound again, this time louder. Wondering what it was, she crept forward, until she realized her mistake of walking into the room. Shocked, she tried to run to the door, but was caught by something. Panicking, she called the first name that came to her mind.
"TASUKI!!!"
~~~~~~~
Yeah, it's Hikou. In your honest opinion, is it worth picking up? Thanks for any thoughts, whatsoever.
