The mysterious man grabbed the young girl with absolutely no worried on whether he had injured her or not. She defied him by pulling her head out of reach, and he smirked at her.

"Ahh... Suzaku no Miko... you are a feisty one. No matter. It doesn't matter if you are feisty or not. You're just being held hostage. I have no need for you... Unless the men you call your warriors follow. Then, they will fight for your life... And they will have to fight hard." He stared coldly at the girl for a long time while she stared back, no emotions on her face. They stared until the man smirked, and he raised his hand, which resulted in the girl rising at the same rate as his hand. When he raised her above his head, he stopped her, and snapped his fingers, enclosing her in circular bubble to which there was no escape. The girl panicked, trying to find her way out, but nothing- from banging her shoulders to hitting the sides with her fists- destroyed the wall of water the bubble was made of.

"Don't waste your energy. Only someone can free you from the outside. Fighting your way out from the inside will not ever work." The girl stared at him, rebellion in her eyes. "Besides, you need not worry about your friends. They will come for you, worry not. The only thing you should be worried about is when they will come- and how they will act when they get here to save you. From what I saw, your boyfriend is none too happy about your choice of... recent companionship." The girl's eyes opened in shock.

"Taka!"

"I wouldn't be concerned with him right now. I'd be more... worried about your other friend... Tasuki, was it?" The girl's eyes opened again. "Stop worrying about your friends right now. I'd be more concerned for your life." With that, he walked away, the girl not knowing where he was going.

I made such a mistake last night... If I knew it would have turned out this bad... But I felt so bad for him! I don't understand... Why did this have to happen now? And it's my entire fault to!

The girl began to cry, letting out all emotion. The past few days were just emotionally wrecking for her, between discovering that the one she considered a best friend reveal a truth she hadn't expected, and then letting her emotions get the best of her, and binding him to her for all of time. She didn't expect this to happen to her, and all the anxiety and emotion she held in her snapped when he came and took her away.

Please, let them be safe, if they come get me. If they don't, I understand why. I'm a horrible, horrible person for doing this to both Taka and Tasuki, and if they chose not to come get me, I'll understand. Please, don't let them hurt each other...

"You what?!" The green-haired man cried out in shock, staring at who the thought was his best friend. The other man had a look of anger on his face, and the two were currently screaming at each other, all the while not bothering to see how everyone else was doing with the recent kidnapping of the girl currently being fought over.

"Look, Tama, it's complex!"

"I don't see what's so complex! You sleep with her, the end!"

"Fuck! It wasn't like that! Now, if you'd jest-"

"Guys! Calm down! We can worry about that later! We need to get Miaka back! What if she's hurt? And, if you'd remember, who took Miaka? His-" The man swung his ghostly arms towards the figure, whose entire body was currently slouched, uncommon for his normal stature. His one useful eye was shut, and he had one of his hands placed over his other, scarred eye. From the looks of his mouth, he was muttering painful, unheard words of shock.

"If you see now, he's taking it worse than you are! His former best friend arrives, and takes the girl that we- all of us! - spent months protecting, and the one that you two boneheads love! Have a heart, and deal with that issue later." The man stared at the two, who had a look of regret on their face.

"Damn, Nuriko..." The red-haired man turned away, arms in front of him. "I'll cooperate as long as he does."

"Stop being so damn immature! This is Miaka we're talking about!"

"Fine!" The man grunted out the response, and walked away, not caring for the rest of the conversation. He walked over to the lake, and sat down on the grass, staring into the water.

Right now, I don't care about what Taka thinks. I'm just worried about Miaka. Taka's all she has, and if she loses him... Damn. I've known Tamahome for two years, and now here we are, fighting like strangers over a girl! It's ridiculous! But maybe I should give up on Miaka. I got one night, I should be grateful. But the way she looked at me last night... Goddamn!

"What was Miaka thinking?!"

"Keisuke..."

"No! She went and-"

"Keisuke, please! Just stop!"

"Yui, I don't care!"

"It was Miaka's choice! She wanted to be with him, and she did what she wanted! And you know Miaka acts with her heart, instead of her head! It's her responsibility to act as she pleases, and she did! Now, let her deal with the consequences, and if she asked for help, than give it to her. Until then, just let her do what she wants. She's also sixteen, practically an adult!"

The man stared at the girl across from him. True, she was five years younger than him, but she had the wisdom of ages. It might have helped that she had been the priestess representing Seiryuu, and because of the pain she went through after a mistaken rape that she was wiser than he. It also helped that her rage of thinking that she was raped was directed at her best friend, and for a few long months, she had cursed her life-long friend. Her warriors had also been a factor, for most were vicious, cruel, with the intent of death as a reward for their enemies. She had suffered greatly throughout the time she was in the book, and it was there were her wisest thoughts had begun to appear, for she knew how cruel life could be at its worst, and how rarely is stopped being so painful.

"Yui..."

Her boyfriend stared at her. He tried to stop his friend, his roommate from going nuts before her, but only her words calmed him down. True, he didn't know his sister as well as his girlfriend, but it was his best friend who was over reacting. His eyes, concealed by his sunglasses, were wide in shock and admiration for his girlfriend.

"Listen, we can't do anything by just sitting here and over reacting. Did you both go through this last time? Miaka is in the book, and it's her choice to do what she wants. Ok?" The question remained in the air, both boys too shocked to think about what had just happened to even answer the girl. The quiet atmosphere remained, until she picked up the book from the ground, and began to read at a slow pace, letting what was currently happening sink into the heads of the two around her.

"How long ago did they go out?"

"I think... maybe half an hour ago, Heika." the man, who's long brown hair was hanging in his face, sighed.

"Shouldn't that be enough time?"

"Calm down, Hotohori-sama!" The purple-haired man told him. "Remember, they have to find the place where Hikou took Miaka too, then they have to get Miaka back. And I doubt that Chichiri will be in a good mode when they get back, because they are going against his ex best friend. So, if they end up walking, they'll most likely be late."

"Besides," Noted the child genius, "It's not raining as hard as it was when they left. In fact, it's almost gone! Take it as a good sign, since Hikou is the master over water, I doubt he would slow down the rainfall or stop it unless he was defeated, or he decided to stop the rain for some unknown reason."

"Chiriko is right, Heika. It'll be all right. If they don't come back tonight, they'll be back tomorrow. Remember, Miaka was kidnapped, and if we're fortunate enough, she won't be harmed." The anxious man looked up at his giant friend, agreeing with him. The four in the room grew silent as the last words faded in the wind, waiting for their friends to come home, and find out what truly happened while they were sitting where they were.

The only reason the four hadn't gone was the fact that they could do nothing. They had accepted long ago that the only way they could help was if they entered a willing person's body. However, they point blank refused to go into battle and such in someone's body, afraid that the person who had kindly given them their body would perish. The only one who gave them a body so willingly was Nyan-Nyan, whose location currently was unknown. However, even if she were around, they would have refused her offer to help them fight. It was Chichiri's fight against his best friend, and both their friends Tasuki and Taka needed to sort out the feelings they had for the girl they both fell for, because if they didn't, there would be no doubt in anyone's minds that there would be a destruction between the friendship the eight had forged so easily.

The four, all tired of pacing the room, waiting, and being silent, all wanting to find out the end result of the battle. However, they all refused to break the unspoken rule that silence was needed. The only noise made was the sighs made by someone every once in a while. Until they heard the noise of two arguing men, acting as if they were brothers, fighting over who got what.

"Miaka!" The men in the room jumped up from where they were, and tore out of the room, seeing the ones they had waited so long to see. Their shock at seeing their friends increased when they saw the supposed friends acting as if there were no cares in the world. No one understood why they were acting so close after all the drama that had unfolded between the two lately, but they pushed it out of their heads when they saw the state their other friend was in, who was supported by the girl, calmly stroking his head. They ran to him, and tried to reason with the arguing friends, telling them to help the melancholy man. They did, but as soon as he was in bed, resting, the two were off, walking away in silence, while everyone stood beside the bed of the man they worried about.

"Ehh... Tama? I got a question... What went through yer head when you found out tha-"

"Easy... Shock, denial. Anything like that."

"Still feel that way?"

"I really do Tasuki. I really do. But, I figure..." He turned to his friend, staring at him with passion filled amber eyes. "... We've been friends long enough to let by-gones be by-gones. I'm still mad that you did... But I can't change it. I'll just let it be."

"Tama..." The two stared at each other, eyes expressing what their words could not say of their strong friendship. Finally, the one nodded, and turned, and the other walked away, not minding the way he was going...

... Until he ran into the last person he expected to see.

"Tasuki... we need to talk."
