[Chapter 5: A Goodbye Kiss]

Goku went backwards, after whispering to Gojyo. "All right. You got that?"

Gojyo rolled his eyes. "You think I can do that?!" he hissed. "I don't think…"

"Come on! You may not be a good actor, but you're not as lousy as Sanzo anyway!"

"All right! I'll do it! Geez!"

Goku smiled, and started running off, disappearing behind the tent booths.

Gojyo looked at Panda-chan, and sighed one last time.

[Here goes nothing…]

Sanzo now threw away his last cigarette, letting some of the kids stomp on it on the dirt. He looked at the Shikigamis area, and then to the huge clock next to the grand carousel.

[11:45. Damn it…]

15 minutes left.

"Oi!!! Sanzo!" Goku called behind him.

Sanzo turned to see Goku running up to him, his tan cheeks flushed and his grin growing wide.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Sanzo protested. "And what are you so smiley about?!"

Goku smiled even wider, and then he grabbed one of his hands and started taking him into a different direction. "You'll definitely have to see this!"

Now, both of them were hiding behind the trees, next to where Gojyo and the Panda scribble's bench were. As Sanzo watched, Gojyo suddenly kneeled on the dirt and started crying crocodile tears.

"Oooh!" Gojyo yelped. "The pain…"

"What?" Panda scribble said worriedly. "What's wrong?"

"It's just that it's been so much fun with you, and then I realize how much I really like you, but…."

"But what?" Panda-chan asked anxiously.

"Sumanai," Gojyo cried out. "But there is no way a human and a panda graffiti can ever fall for each other."

"Eeeeeeeeee!!!" Panda scribble cried. "You're right!"

And then they saw Gojyo perk up suddenly, the relief perfectly clear in his eyes.

"'That damn kappa!" Sanzo hissed sharply. "This is your plan?! Make him act so fucking fake?!"

Goku was now annoyed. "I don't see you making a plan."

SMACK!!!

"Kono baka saru!!!" Sanzo was now holding his fan. "Are you saying I'm stupid?!"

"Iteeee…" Goku cried painfully. "Nani yo?!"

The two started arguing, not realizing Gojyo already saw them.

"Sanzo?! Goku?!" Gojyo wailed. "What the hell's going on?!"

Goku laughed nervously. "We-we were just---"

"Helping you NOT screw up." Sanzo interrupted harshly.

"Screw up?!" Gojyo protested. "Thanks but no thanks guys. I can handle myself perfectly, thank you very much."

"Oh, and why isn't anything happening yet if when you only have fifteen minutes left? You must be having a REALLY good time!" Sanzo said sarcastically.

[I hate it when he does that!] Gojyo thought, gritting his teeth.

"Ne, Gojyo-kun," Panda scribble said suddenly.

The threesome stopped arguing to see the Panda scribble already calmed herself, though her mouth turned into a little X again, something she does when she is sad.

"Even if you say that, I'll just have to do something for your sake, so I'll leave you for a while…"

"Ah, sou ka…" Gojyo said solemnly, but a thought balloon beside him said "WHOOPEE!"

Gojyo watched as Panda-chan ran, and he felt a sudden rush of sympathy.

[She's leaving me.] Gojyo said to himself. [So why don't I feel better?]

"I kinda feel sorry for her…" Goku said suddenly, breaking out his train of thought.

"Aaa." Sanzo replied.

But then Panda scribble raised her little paws up, and a bright light flash around her.

"Great!" Gojyo yelled, shielding away from the bright light. "Now what?!"

And from where the Panda scribble stood, was a pretty young brunette in loose Chinese robes and sparkling bottle green eyes. There was a huge contrast between her and Panda-chan that both made Goku and Gojyo's jaws drop. Even Sanzo looked shocked.

"So what do you think?" the girl/Panda scribble said. "Human enough for you?"

"Ye-ye-yeah!" Gojyo replied. "Definitely better!"

SMACK! And a kick on the head.

"What the hell?!" Gojyo cried painfully.

"Are you forgetting your mission, you perverted son of a bitch?!" Sanzo almost yelled. "She's still an illusion, for Christ's sake!"

Suddenly the spider Shikigami's long arms suddenly went around Gojyo's body and then it started waving him around in the high nighttime sky.

"Let go of me!!!" Gojyo yelled. "You're making me hurl!!!"

"Let go of Gojyo, you big spider freak!!!" Goku jumped up. "Nyoibou!!!"

The monkey was now holding the staff and started beating up the huge Shikigami.

"Tasuketeeee!!!" Gojyo cried.

"Gojyo-kun!!!" girl/Panda-chan cried. But there was nothing she could do.

"What do you want to do now?" Sanzo asked suddenly beside her.

"I-I-i…" a bright light flashed around her, turning her back into a panda scribble.

"I'll go back to the scroll." She announced bravely.

Panda scribble approached Fa Zhou, who let the first two scrolls open wide. "What is it Panda-chan?"

"I'll let them all go back to their scrolls." She told Fa Zhuo.

The old man smiled. "Indeed."

"Oi!!! You two!!!" Panda-chan called the two Shikigamis. "Time to go back now!"

The Shikigami brought Gojyo down, who was really dizzy, and both of the two monsters. Flew back to the scrolls, from which Fa Zhuo hurriedly slapped the talismans on them.

Gojyo suddenly fell on the dirt, seeing circles around him.

"Gojyo! Gojyo!" Goku went beside him and held up three fingers. "How many fingers am I holding?"

"Uh, six?" Gojyo moaned weakly.

Sanzo smirked. "Close enough."

Gojyo sat up after a while, feeling a little better, and the Panda-chan sat beside him.

"Well, I guess your leaving now," Gojyo managed to say.

"Ye-yes," Panda-chan answered.

"Don't be sad, Panda-chan, " Gojyo insisted. "I have to admit, you're a lot more fun than you look."

"Really?"

Gojyo smiled. "Really really."

"Gojyo-kun? One last thing…" Panda-Chan asked shyly.

"What?"

"Could you give me a goodbye kiss?"

Gojyo must have misheard. "What?!"

"A kiss from a handsome man is what I truly wanted after going out with you. Please?"

"Ha-hai…" Gojyo replied, but his mouth suddenly went dry as he held Panda-chan by the face. The crowd grew interested and watched. Sanzo and Goku strained to look.

Gojyo saw Panda-chan pucker up and close her eyes, but his mind was racing.

[What should I do? On the cheek? On the forehead? On the lips?!]

He didn't want to do that. Especially not in front of all these people.

Seconds ticked, and time grew longer.

"Oh, Gojyo-kun," Panda-chan said. "You're so naïve."

All of a sudden, Panda-chan forced her forehead to go upward and smashed Gojyo's chin. He fainted again.

Everyone sweatdropped.

"A head butt?!" Sanzo and Goku said in horrified unison.

"No, misters," Fa Zhuo replied. "She just made him kiss her forehead. Remember, she couldn't move her mouth!"

Panda-scribble giggled and ran back to her scroll. "Sayonara!!!" she called, before a bright light flash and she was back into being a painting once again.

Gojyo was motionless on the dirt, and his face was frozen between pain and an expression of a crazy maniac.

"I guess he fainted, misters," Fa Zhuo said, smiling.

The next thing they knew, a loud sound of punches and kicks can be heard in the air.

Hakkai was waiting on by the kitchen table that night until he saw the three going inside the back door.

"Ara," Hakkai greeted them. "You're finally back! How was the festival?"

Sanzo lit up a cigarette. "It wasn't bad."

"Yeah, I had fun too!!!" Goku jumped up and down happily. "Especially Gojyo!!!"

Gojyo ignored him and sat down the table, gripping his head painfully. "My head…"

"Last I heard, two Shikigamis have escaped but only destroyed one-fourth of the town," Hakkai said, grabbing something from the oven. "But I guess you took care of that, ne?" He added with a smile.

Gojyo swallowed a forming lump on his throat. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Very well. So how about eating up this peach pie for me?" said Hakkai, thrusting the steaming pie almost to his nose. "They're in season today, you know."

Gojyo suddenly turned white, and started running back to his room as if a thousand demons were after him. Hakkai's eyes went wide.

"Ne, Hakkai? Can I have some of that pie?" Goku asked, raising his hand.

"Su-sure."

"Yatazo!!!" Goku cheered before gobbling up the pie in full speed.

"What happened?" Hakkai wondered. "I made that especially for him."

Sanzo scraped the butt of his cigarette on the table's ashtray. "It was a long story."

"Well, I have time," Hakkai sat up a little. "Would anyone tell me what happened?"

"I do!" Goku said between chews. "It all started when we're walking around and then…"
