Brothers ark Episode one: weed and thorn part one

Narrator: long ago, in the land of ohu, it was very peaceful for quite sometime. throughout the ways that ohu lived in, dogs lived peacefully, thanks to the assistance of gin. a legendary dog who led hundreds of other dogs to amazing sanctuary. that is, until hougen attacked. many of ohu’s residents were forced to leave, including reika, mate of hiro. five years later, the place was peaceful once again, for some of the part. while the forest was being watched over by nero, some of the dogs still live there. two of these dogs are, weed and thorn. brothers, protected by their ill mother sakura, who they care for deeply. this is the story of, the brothers of ohu.

Scene cuts to a puppy sitting in front of a pond

Puppy: ah. this place is just so peaceful. the other animals that live here sure are lucky.

A duck swims closer to thorn

Puppy: oh, hi there.

The duck quacks

Puppy: ha ha. i sure wish i could understand what you were saying.

The duck nods and swims off

Voice: thorn! where are you!?

Thorn: oh. coming weed!

Thorn runs off

Thorn: i wonder what weed wants at this moment. i hope no one’s hurt or anything.

Thorn arrives at his house to which his brother weed is waiting for him

Thorn: yeah weed? what is it?

Weed: thorn, what did i tell you before?

Thorn: about what?

Weed: about wandering off on your own.

Thorn: oh. that. hmm, let’s see here. oh, right. i don’t remember.

Weed sighs

Weed: listen thorn. i know you love it here, and that you think it’s fun to explore here. but don’t forget that nero’s watching over this place for five years now. so wandering off all by yourself at the age you are is dangerous.

Thorn: well what i wanna know is why we age in human years.

Weed: no idea thorn. just please promise me you won’t get hurt.

Thorn: that, i can’t be one hundred percent sure about. anything can happen.

Weed: that’s true.

Thorn: oh, wait weed. can i go hunting today? you know, for our food and stuff.

Weed: you wanna go?

Thorn: heck yeah i do. you do it all the time, so it can’t be that hard.

Weed: it’s really risky thorn. there are loads of nero bandits here.

Thorn: which is why you need someone as small as me to sneak past them. i’m like, five years old weed.

Weed: and i’m eight years old. that’s why i do the hunting specifically.

Thorn: but i’m always watching over mom. you’re always too busy. this way, you can spend time with her, and i can actually contribute to the food chain.

Weed: i don’t know if it works like that, but you do have a good point. but just this once.

Thorn: yes!

Thorn jumps on weed

Thorn: thank you so much weed! I won’t let you down, i promise from the bottom of my heart!

Weed: alright thorn, sounds good. can you please get off of me now?

Thorn: oh right, sure.

Thorn gets off of weed

Weed: but be back soon, ok?

Thorn: alright weed.

Thorn runs off

Weed: let’s hope mom gets better soon. she can take way better care of thorn than i can. she has way more experience than me.

Weed walks over to his mother

Sakura: hello weed. Where’s thorn.

Weed: he wanted to do the hunting today. heck, he practically begged me. but he said that a reason he wanted to was so that we could bond. that honestly feels like a pretty legit reason.

Sakura: it sure is. you were always so busy trying to take care of us. you really are a good child weed.

Weed: i try mom. still though, i wonder if i should tell him. you know, about his destiny, and your illness. if he finds out himself, it could crush him.

Sakura: remember what i told you weed. tell him when the time is right.

Weed nods

Weed: right.

Scene cuts to an english settler hiding in a bush

Settler: alright. I’m going up against my prey.

The settler creeps up some more

Settler: that’s it. that’s it.

Thorn jumps out from one of the bushes and starts biting at the birds

Settler: what? that idiot! what’s he doing!?

Thorn: get down here you stupid birds!

The settler catches a bird that flies over him

Settler: damn, that was close.

Thorn: hey! that’s mine you noob!

Thorn tries to snatch the bird but the settler evades

Settler: don’t play dumb with me kid. this is my kill.

Thorn: no it’s not! you only caught it because i scared it off!

Thorn continues to jump at the settler who keeps dodging

Settler: fool. don’t get into fights unless you’re certain you can defeat your opponent.

Thorn: i’m not trying to beat you. i just want the bird!

Thorn jumps at the settler who sets down the bird and knocks him at a tree only for thorn to jump off the tree surprising the settler

Thorn snatches the bird and runs off

Thorn: bye bird thief!

Settler: hey, get back here!

The settler runs after thorn and tried to pin him down only for thorn to jump back at that moment

Settler: interesting. his skills are good for a little kid.

Thorn: i’d recognize those tactics anywhere.

The settler looks at thorn who sets the bird down

Thorn: you’re a nero warrior, aren’t you?

Settler: you guessed it. now hand over the bird. your skills are good for your age, but your mind is as small as a peanut.

Thorn: well at least i have a brain.

Settler: what!?

Thorn: i honestly doubt you can’t just get another bird. you only got this one because i came along. so is there something special about this bird? or is it just an ordinary pigeon?

Settler: there’s nothing special about it. i just happen to be it’s prey.

Thorn: well, if you want it, then you’re going to have to take it.

Settler: very well then.

The settler charges at thorn who jumps over him only for the settler to grab him by the leg and pin him down

Thorn: hey! let me up you crappy excuse for a cop!

The settler pins thorn by the neck

Settler: i don’t wish to harm you young one. i only come for the bird.

Thorn: up my ass you’ll get it! i’m not letting weed down!

The settler is caught off guard

Settler: weed. is he a relative of yours?

Thorn: he’s my older brother. i took charge of hunting today so he could spend time with our mother. she’s fallen under an illness and we’ve been getting food for her and the family for days. that’s why i came out here. we never met our dad, so me and weed are the best we’ve got.

Settler: still. that’s no excuse for what you’re doing. what you’re doing is thievery.

Thorn: oh, right. and you working for that nero creep is any better?

The settler sees thorn’s point and let’s go of him

Settler: take the bird.

Thorn: huh?

Settler: the bird is yours kid.

Thorn gets up and grabs the bird

Thorn: thanks mister. say, what’s your name anyway?

Settler: gb. gb the english settler.

Thorn: thank you gb. maybe we’ll meet again sometime.

Gb: perhaps we will.

Thorn runs off

Gb: oh, wait kid!

Thorn stops

Gb: what’s your name?

Thorn smiles

Thorn: it’s thorn.

Thorn runs off

Gb: thorn. and he’s the brother of weed. the prophecy. i have to warn nero!

Gb runs off

Scene cuts to thorn running to his house with weed resting

Thorn: i’m back weed!

Weed: hmm?

Weed wakes up and sees thorn running over to them

Weed: hey, you’re back.

Thorn arrives at his house

Thorn: see weed, i told you i could do it.

Weed laughs a bit

Weed: well you sure did. pretty good for your first time.

Thorn: yeah, that’s probably why you always have more.

Thorn sets the bird down

Thorn: c'mon weed, let’s eat.

Weed gets up and walks over to the bird

Weed: alright then.

Thorn: so how do we divide this? mom gets the big piece, we get the small pieces?

Weed: pretty much yeah.

Weed notices thorn’s neck

Weed: hey thorn, what happened to your neck there? it looks pretty bad.

Thorn: oh that? well when i was coming back i tripped over something, and i guess i didn’t notice. no big deal though.

Gb is seen spying on weed and thorn

Weed: well, alright thorn. just be more careful of your surroundings next time.

Thorn: i know weed, i know.

Gb:(inside head)they sure do seem nice enough. but even so, i can’t allow the prophecy to happen. i have to go warn nero.

Gb runs off

Thorn senses gb’s presence

Weed: what’s wrong thorn?

Thorn: nothing weed, it’s fine. i just felt some weird power for some reason. and i know for a fact that it’s never happened before.

Weed: well just try not to let it bother you. eat up now. you gotta keep your strength up.

Thorn: ok weed.

Thorn starts eating

Thorn: so weed, i heard about this thing called a vet, but they live in this place called a city. maybe if we’re lucky, we can call the vet, or message one, and then he or she can heal mom.

Weed: that could work. only problem is that we can’t communicate with the humans.

Thorn: how come?

Weed: just common human and dog logic.

Thorn: oh. okay. hey weed, why do we live in the forest anyway?

Weed: well the forest is where our parents grew up, and i guess this is the best place dad thought for mom to heal.

Thorn: i hope she gets better soon.

Weed: so do i. especially for when the prophecy happens.

Thorn: what prophecy?

Weed flinches

Weed: um...nothing. it’s nothing. just me sayin random nonsense.

Thorn looks confused

Thorn: whatever you say weed.

Weed and thorn continue eating

Weed:(inside head)phew. that was a close one

Scene cuts to gb returning to nero’s base

Gb: nero! I have something to inform you.

Nero: what is it gb? and why have you brought back nothing?

Gb: that doesn’t matter right now. you most likely remember that prophecy about the two brothers of gin, the dog legend, correct?

Nero: yes i do. every frame of it.

Gb: yes, of course you’d remember it. well earlier today, i met up with this kid who said he was getting some food for his brother weed.

Nero: that explains why you came back empty handed. what i’m curious about though is, what is the kid’s name?

Gb: that’s what i came to inform you about. the kid who took the food i gave him is thorn.

Nero becomes shocked

Nero: weed and thorn live in these woods? that could be a problem.

Ken: remind us nero. what is this prophecy anyway?

Nero: you see ken, in the prophecy, the sons of gin were given the ability to form their own special kind of attack, that could activate at any time, against any threat. this gives you the power to charge at any foe in the form of a ball like attack at amazing speeds. this attack is known as, the zetsu tenrou battouga.

Gb: interesting. it’s weird though. when we weren’t fighting over the bird, thorn seemed quite friendly.

Nero: friendly or not, we are not to make peace with them. for their father is the reason hougen was defeated long ago. them being kids at the time, the outcome was hard to predict. but now they are older, and we must stop thorn and weed at every cost we can.

Ken: except, what if we can’t stop them? what if they’re too strong?

Nero: then that’s that. however, they are destined to stop hougen, and despite this, they have many powers other than the zetsu tenrou battouga, such as being able to sense a nearby presence, quick learning, and high acrobatic skills.

Gb:(inside head)acrobatic skills. that’s how thorn was able to regain his balance so easily. it’s no wonder.

Nero: we shan’t hold back. we must stay loyal to hougen, no matter how much blood we lose.

Gb:(inside head)weed and thorn. brothers of the prophecy. sons of gin. whenever anyone gets into a fight with them, they must not hold back. and the zetsu tenrou battouga. an attack that can activate at any time, against any threat. interesting information

Nero: now you two stick together and try to find something to eat. i’ll get the other dogs to split up and search for the kids.

Gb and ken: yes.

Gb and ken run off

Nero goes up to his communication system

Nero: warriors of nero’s pack. weed and thorn are confirmed to be in this area. split up and find them. and if they leave the forest, leave as well and find them.

Nero turns off his communication system

Nero: let’s see them escape this one.

Scene cuts to weed and thorn inside their house

Thorn is seen looking out the window

Thorn: hey weed?

Weed looks at thorn

Weed: yeah thorn?

Thorn: is it wrong that i wonder what’s out there?

Weed: not at all thorn. i was just like you when i was your age.

Thorn: you were?

Weed: pretty much, yeah. and i promise thorn, i’ll let you see it sometime.

Thorn: well i sure hope it’s soon. the outside world sounds so interesting.

Weed: it sure does.

Suddenly thorn hears someone screaming

Thorn: what was that?

Weed: i don’t know thorn.

Weed runs out the door

Weed: stay here. mom’s under the house so she’ll be alright. i’ll be right back.

Weed runs off

Thorn: i wanna know what that sound was too. and what if weed isn’t enough?

Thorn makes his decision

Thorn: you know what, screw it. i’m gonna go help weed.

Thorn runs after weed

Scene cuts to weed arriving at the destination of the sound and becoming shocked at the sight

Nero: save it mindy. no one’s here to save you.

Mindy: that’s what you think. and even without gin, you can expect to get your ass kicked.

Nero: try and bet on it. gb! ken!

Gb and ken walk up to nero

Nero: you two made an excellent find. once we bring this bitch back to hougen, we’re bound to get respect.

Gb: indeed we will nero.

Ken: and there’s no way she can escape.

Nero: no there isn’t. being covered by this of course.

Nero grabs a bag and puts the puppy inside of it

Mindy: hey!

Nero: shut it lady. If you don’t can it then your punishment will be at hougen’s hands. or in this case paws.

Gb and ken start to question if what they’re doing is right

Weed becomes worried for mindy

Weed: damn. at least thorn’s safe.

Thorn: safe from what?

Weed: huh?

Weed turns around and is shocked to see that thorn followed him

Weed: thorn, what’re you doing here!? i told you to stay with mom!

Thorn: well i wasn’t gonna let you die weed. and besides, mom’s under protection under the house.

Thorn notices gb standing with them

Thorn: i recognise that settler.

Weed: what do you mean?

Thorn whispers to weed of the real reason of how his neck got bruised and why he hid it

Weed: i see.

Thorn: what’re they doing anyway?

Weed: well they have someone about your age in that bag.

Thorn: what!?

Gb senses weed and thorn nearby

Gb: hey nero. i just sensed some kids nearby. it might be them.

Nero: kids? which direction?

Gb points to the opposite direction of weed and thorn and gb runs in that direction

Ken: good thinking gb.

Gb: i try.

Gb signals weed and thorn who run towards him

Gb: what’re you doing here kid?

Thorn: well my brother weed came here too, and i was worried there would be more of you.

Ken: that’s reasonable.

Weed: let’s save the kid.

Thorn: right.

Just then an explosion is heard

Thorn: what was that?

Nero: looks like we have some traitors.

Gb and ken see nero walking towards them

Nero: nice try ex minions.

Nero sets the building on fire shocking everyone

Thorn: is this guy insane!?

Weed: now what.

Thorn realizes the danger mindy could be in

Thorn: i’ll tell you what weed.

Thorn runs inside the building

Weed: thorn!

Thorn runs over to mindy’s cage only for nero to jump through the window and smack him down

Weed: thorn!

Weed jumps inside the building and gb and ken follow

Gb: wait. kid!

Nero knocks thorn back

Nero: look at the brat who tried to be a hero. now this kid’s gonna die, and you can’t do nothin.

Thorn suddenly gains a large energy

Weed: thorn?

Thorn charges at nero and slices through him in the form of a blazing ball

Gb: the zetsu tenrou battouga. it’s finally been awakened.

Nero: curse, you, brat.

Nero dies and thorn sees that the cage has been opened and goes inside it and opens the bag

Thorn: it’s a girl.

Thorn grabs mindy and runs out with the others

Weed: i’ll give you credit thorn. that was really brave of you.

Thorn: thanks weed.

Thorn looks at mindy who wakes up

Thorn: hey. you alright?

Mindy gets out of the bag

Mindy: i’m fine, thanks. where’s nero?

Gb: let’s just say that a certain someone took him down.

Ken: i.e, the one who saved you.

Mindy looks at thorn and hugs him

Mindy: thank you.

Thorn blushes

Thorn: heh heh. no prob.

Weed: wait thorn. what about mom?

Thorn: oh right. bye guys. we gotta head out.

Gb stops thorn

Thorn: huh?

Gb: we wish to join you. There is a part of your destiny to which you do not know.

Thorn: there is? well tell me about it later. our mom’s still sick.

Ken: so why’s she all by herself?

Weed: because my brother’s an idiot.

Thorn rolls her eyes and runs off with the others

Thorn:(inside head)an unknown part of my destiny? what could it be? no matter. we have to see if mom’s okay.

Thorn: what up guys? thorn here. in case you’re wondering, me and my brother weed are back, and so are our new friends, gb and ken. not only is our mom dead now, but there’s apparently there’s some hidden part of my destiny that i don’t know about. i wonder what it is. and why weed hid it from me. next time, weed and thorn part two. what the hell is going on here!?
