Emerald Eyes

Mother, do you see me
Can't you hear my screams
You let me fall into the abyss, mother
And I was bound forever into the darkness

You saw me as a demon
Like everyone else
I wanted to know why you hated me so
But my lips could never say those words

Mother, there was that night
When the crimson moon rose high in the sky
And that man raped me and cursed me
You did not try to save me, mother

I had become cracked
A broken puppette with strings
I asked you to cut me free and you refused
I died mother, frayed into death as his doll

Then I met a man with bright amethyst eyes
He protected me and cared for me
Something you never did, mother
And in death I found what I could not find in life

Mother, this man, he was broken as I
And he plunged into the Inferno
But mother, I had pulled him back
For I could not live without him

Where you did not love me mother, he did
And I learnt to pull free of those puppetter strings
For Dragons were met to be with emerald eyes
And ropes can not longer bind me
