The Curse

I was the one born with this hated curse
That shall carry on till the day I die
And I remain trapped
Lying alone in my cell

I am the cursed one
The mortal soul that darkness follows
I try to run away from it all
But I am still pulled back into the abyss

And I became the caged animal
Shivering within the northern wind
And I wished to escape my own skin
But you showed me my soul

You are the one I want to be
With your strength and your gravity
I want to be where you are
And fit in with everything as you do

You are the one who saw me differently
With your gentle grace and your kind smile
You rescued me from the bitter snow
With you I not longer felt this curse

With you I have a purpose
To fight and learn to be strong
With you I have become someone
No longer the cursed one

This curse has played with my life
From my birth till I die
But with you I have learned to bear this curse
And you have taught to be strong
