Bloody Betrayal
Chapter One
Eiri Yuki walked towards his apartment, his hangover he had since he woke up was getting worse. He had woke up sprawled on a bench in the park, a group of children crowded around him, giggling. He had to fight his urges, and not scare them away. That would be all he needed, a group of parents scolding him.
He had no idea how he had got there, or how long he had been there. He was aching and cold, and he felt out of place. It was still early, so he was hoping to slip into bed beside Shuichi and cuddle up to his lover for a while. Just thinking of his lover made him feel better.
They had been together for four years now. At first Shuichi was an annoying brat, always bouncing and getting on his nerves, but now he couldn’t picture his life without the younger man. In Yuki’s mind, Shuichi had saved him. He let a true smile slip across his face.
As he neared his apartment. He paused, standing still. Two boxes and a duffle bag stood outside his door. He watched as Shuichi walked out of his apartment with his back pack on his shoulder. The younger man went to close the door, but stopped when he met Yuki's eyes.
Yuki took a good look at Shuichi and saw his lover had bruises on his face. Yuki frowned, this had been happening a lot lately. He would always find Shuichi covered in bruises, which Shuichi told him he got from falling over, or walking into a door.
Yuki looked more closely and realised Shuichi’s breathing had sped up, and his eyes were wide. He started walking towards his lover, but stopped when Shuichi backed away from him, his face a mask of fear and hatred. He had never seen Shuichi look at him like that before, and it scared him.
"Shuichi...are you afraid me?" He asked.
"Yes." Shuichi whispered.
"Why?"Shuichi laughed humorously. "That's right, you never remember the next day… Just look at my face, check out what you did to me." Shuichi pulled up his shirt.
Yuki gasped, his eyes wide as he saw dark purple/blue bruises covering Shuichi's chest, a big white bandage covering his stomach. Yuki tried walking towards Shuichi once again. There had to be a mistake, he would never hurt his lover…
"Stay the hell away from...don't ever come near me again!""Shuichi, I don't understand..."Shuichi snorted. "You never do...you get drunk, then decide to beat and rape me. And then you stumble out of the apartment, and you don't come home until the next day...you’re probably out fucking someone else. And when you come home, you always act normally, like nothing happened...and when you ask me where I get the bruises, I lie, saying I fell over or walked into the door. But I can't take this anymore...it's over. I'm tired of being your punch bag!"
"Shuichi." Both men turned to see Hiro walking towards them, his face a mask of anger at hearing what his best friend just said. He glared at Yuki, his hands fisting at his sides. He wanted nothing more than to punch the man, but he didn’t want to upset Shuichi more than he already was. He walked passed him to Shuichi, his eyes taking in the bruises marring his best friends face.
Shuichi bent down with a groan as pain flared through his body, picking up a box. Hiro slung the duffle bag over his shoulder, and picked up the remaining box. Together they walked passed the blonde.
Yuki turned around to look at his lovers retreating back."Shuichi...please don't leave me! I promise it will never happen again…"Shuichi turned back to face Yuki. He shook his head, his eyes filling with tears.
"Do you know that's what you say to me every time you rape me? You say you’re sorry, it will never happen again... But the next night, it happens all over again! I can't take it anymore." He turned away and continued walking down the corridor.
Yuki watched as Shuichi and Hiro got into the elevator. He stood paralysed, wondering how he could have been so stupid. How could he have ever laid a hand on his brat? He finally moved, walking into his apartment, and closing the door behind him.
He went straight to the fridge for a can of beer. He was surprised to see only two cans, when yesterday it was full. He held the can in his hand, and looked at it in disgust. He placed it back in the fridge. He couldn't bring himself to drink it, not after hearing what he had done to Shuichi.
Leaving the kitchen, he sat on the couch, resting his head in his hands. He didn't want to believe that he did what Shuichi said, but the bruises on Shuichi's face and chest were obvious evidence. The evidence of what he had done.
The tears came easily. How could he have hurt his brat, the one person who had managed to break his cold heart? The one person Yuki truly loved... But if he loved the younger man, how could he have beat and raped him?
Yuki knew deep down it was because he was suffering from a terrible bout of writers block, and had been for the last three weeks. He would end up getting completely wasted, and then everything that happened after that he couldn't remember. He knew he wasn't an alcoholic, but when he was frustrated, he did drink a lot.
But he would stop, he had to get help. He wouldn't let Shuichi leave him forever. He couldn't lose him. But he had to win the brat’s trust back, and he knew that was going to be hard. He didn’t know if Shuichi would ever be able to forgive him. Hell, if Yuki Kitazawa was still alive and asked for his forgiveness, he would tell the man to go to hell. So why would Shuichi forgive him?
He began to sob, realising he had become just like Kitazawa... He had betrayed Shuichi just like Yuki had betrayed him. He had did to Shuichi what Taki's thugs also did. How was Shuichi going to cope with this? He had now been raped by someone who was supposed to love him.
He was knocked out of his thoughts when he heard a key in the front door. He knew it wouldn't be Shuichi, and the only other person who had a key was his overly annoying brother-in-law. No matter how many keys he confiscated from the man, he always seemed to acquire another one.
He watched the door open and a short blonde, wearing a ridiculous hat, walked through the door, stopping for a moment to take his shoes off. He knew Tohma would know what had happened, and he was afraid his friend would disown him or something.
When Tohma caught sight of a red-eyed Eiri sitting on the couch, he sighed. He knew what had been happening. Hiro had called him to tell him, and to let him know Shuichi would be taking a few weeks off. Apparently Shuichi wanted to get away for a while. He couldn't deny the younger man anything, not when he heard of what had happened. He knew Shuichi was going to be emotionally scarred.
He’d always hated Shuichi for being able to get passed Eiri’s coldness. He was jealous because he wanted Eiri for himself, but he knew that was impossible. Still, he kept butting into their relationship, he couldn’t seem to help himself. He finally stopped, and decided to leave them in peace when he saw how happy Eiri was.
But now he didn’t know what to think. Eiri had done something unforgivable. He could never hate Eiri, but he couldn't help but feel disappointed with him. He walked over to the couch and sat beside the distraught man. When Eiri's face crumpled, Tohma scooted closer, allowing Eiri to lean against him.
“Tohma, I need your help…I don’t know what to do. How could I have done that to Shuichi? Will you help me?”“I’ll help you Eiri.”Yuki’s body seemed to sigh in relief. Tohma held him until he fell asleep. Tohma manoeuvred Eiri on the couch, so he was lying down. He then stood at the window, staring down at the street. He had no idea how to help the man. How was he supposed to help him erase what he had done?
He thought about getting Eiri to make an appointment with his psychologist.. it might help if he talked about what’s been happening. Then maybe it would be a good idea for him to take a break from his writing. Tohma himself would talk to his annoying editor… he knew the woman could drive anyone mad. Then it would be a good idea for Eiri to take a vacation, get him away from Tokyo for a while.
He wondered if he should do anything for Shuichi, but he felt helpless everytime he thought of the younger man. Shuichi probably needed counselling too. He sighed, hoping he wouldn’t become prematurely grey before this was over. He felt a little like Sakano. He snorted quietly… no one could be as high strung as that man.
He turned to look at Eiri, noticing the man looked like he was crying in his sleep. He walked over to him.
“Shuichi…I’m so sorry.” Tohma heard the man mumble quietly.
Tohma sat on the other end of the couch, and watched as Eiri opened his eyes. The man sat up slowly, his eyes flashing with pain as he remembered what had happened. He looked at Tohma, wanting the man to tell him it had all been a dream. But one look on his face told Yuki it was real.
Tohma took a deep breath and told Eiri his idea. Eiri was not to keen on talking to his psychologist again, but he kept telling himself this was for Shuichi, so he agreed. He also agreed quickly to taking a break on his writing, and taking a vacation. He still had writers block, and taking a vacation sounded great, probably something that he needed.
Tohma stood up. “Phone your psychologist and book an appointment, I’ll take care of the rest.” He assured his brother-in-law as he left the apartment.
Yuki stood from the couch, and picked up the phone. After making an appointment, he went into his bedroom, and sat on his bed. His apartment looked and felt empty without Shuichi’s stuff cluttered about the place. Just another reminder of what he had done.
He nodded to himself. He was going to sort himself out, and win back his brat. He was willing to do anything. Hell, he would sell his soul to the devil if he knew it would help.
--
The next day Yuki was driving to his appointment. He was taking the first step to get his life together, the first step to take for Shuichi. Tohma had told him that Shuichi had left Tokyo last night, but the man wouldn’t tell him where Shuichi was.
Even though he wanted to know where the younger man was, he resigned himself that it was better this way. He couldn’t chase after Shuichi, he didn’t want to frighten him more than he already did.
So he was going to wait for Shuichi to come back, then he would talk to him. He just hoped the younger man would let him.
Parking his car, he entered the building and spoke to the women behind the desk. She smiled when she recognised the famous man in front of her, her hand unconsciously moving to run her fingers through her hair, trying to look enticing with her overly made-up face.
Yuki suppressed a growl and took a seat. That was all he needed, some tart trying to pick him up. He picked up an out of date magazine, and opened it. He hated this place and would have probably left, but Shuichi’s bruised face kept flashing before his eyes, so he made himself stay.
When the door opened and his psychologist called his name, he put the magazine back on the table. Ignoring the receptionist that smiled at him, he walked into the office. He took a seat on the dreaded couch, and lay down.
He closed his eyes and began talking, but it was hard. He had no idea what he had done. All he could say was what Shuichi had told him. What was the point of going round in circles? The only thing keeping him on the couch was Shuichi, he had to try and remember for his sake.
