Damn I don't own my Ryu…or the other gravitation characters
Something was different about him, she couldn't seem to take her eyes off of him. When the song ended, Tohma came over to her.
“Well Kisa? Is it a good surprise?” he asked.
“What? Ryuichi being back from America? Or Nittle Grasper coming back together?”
“Both” he answered, smiling.
She sighed,
“Hai Tohma. They are both good surprises.”
“Kisa?” she heard a voice behind her call.
She turned around and there he was. Ryuichi Sakuma was standing in front of her, and she couldn't say a word. She nodded, and felt a little light headed when he grinned at her. Then, she noticed a young man kneeling on the ground by K, Ryuichi's former manager. She nodded at Ryuichi again, and walked over to the young man. She knelt down I front of him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked up, and she saw the pained, almost haunted, look in his eyes. She pulled him to his feet and out of the building. They walked for a little while in silence, Kisa just following the boy. Then, she asked,
“What's your name?”
“Shuichi. Shuichi Shendo.”
She frowned for a moment, not knowing why that name sounded familiar, but the shrugged it off.
“Well, it's nice to meet you Shuichi. My name is Kisa Seguchi.”
“Suguchi?!” he exclaimed, staring at her as they continued to walk.
“Hai. Tohma is my brother”
“Wow,” he breathed as they walked into an apartment complex.
“Would you like to come in for a little while. It's the least I can do after you helped me out back there.”
“Sure,” she answered as they entered the apartment.
“Would you mind telling me why Ryuichi's singing affected you so?”
Shuichi looked away. She let him have his time to think. She wouldn't pressure him to answer, she had learned patience over the years.
“Well, you see, I want to be just as good as Sakuma-san, maybe even better, and when I saw him today, well, I felt like I was falling behind.”
“Don't feel that way. Ryu wouldn't….” she trailed off as she saw a familiar painting on the wall. One that was all too painful a reminder of her past.
“Kisa-san, Seguchi-san does music, but what do you do?” he asked right as the door opened.
“Yuki!” Shuichi exclaimed, as he launched himself in the direction of the door.
Kisa was frozen. She couldn't move at all as she heard Shuichi telling someone that they had a guest, and that she knew Seguchi-san very well. She heard him stop across the room from her, felt his surprise. She couldn't be here, it couldn't be him. She turned slowly, and found herself face to face with Eiri Uesugi, or rather Eiri Yuki. He didn't move, but just stared at her. She noticed that Shuichi was beginning to give her strange looks. So, she gathered her courage, and spoke to the one man she had sworn to avoid for the rest of her life.
“Hello Eiri.”
“Kisa,” he said, still appearing stunned.
“It's been a long time.”
“Hai. What are you doing here?”
“I was just asking Kisa-san what she did. You know? Like Seguchi-san is in a band.” Shuichi interjected.
“Kisa is an artist. She painted that.” Eiri said, pointing to the painting behind Kisa.
“Why did you buy it Eiri?” Kisa began in a pained whisper,
“You know what it represents.”
“Hai, that's why I bought it. Just like you buying my books. You know what my stories represent.” He answered, not revealing that he knew the exact moments and locations that she bought his books.
“I didn't, I don't, I have to go.” She stammered and marched out.
Shuichi stared after her for a few minutes, and then turned to Eiri.
“What was that about?”
“Nothing,” Eiri answered as he moved to stand in front of the painting titled:
“Life and Death 21:16”
She ran. She had to. She needed to get away from Eiri. She didn't even care that it was raining. Seeing Eiri again had made her remember events from more than fifteen years ago. Surrounded by memories, she screamed when she was caught by two strong hands.
“Let me go! Let me go now!” she yelled as she looked up.
She froze, and went limp. As she fell, she whispered his name,
“Ryuichi.”
