Chap2: Waiting and……… smoke?

" Darien?" Rae suddenly asked aloud. The girls got brought back to reality when Rae had spoken.

" Is he going to come back?" asked Rae looking back at the girls.

Serena for a fact had a smile on her face. Rae was staring at her. Mina followed Rae's sight and also saw the smile on Serena's face.

" Serena why are you smiling?" Mina asked for Rae and herself.

Serena looked at them and indeed saw the question on their faces. ' After all this time they still don't know Darien?!' thought Serena, ' They are dense!'

" Come on you guys!" Serena started," This is Darien we are talking about. He should be back here and tell us that was all just a joke!"

Rae and Mina looked at each other then at Serena.

" Are you sure about that?" asked Mina," I mean, he did sound serious back there,"

" I am positive!" Serena answered.

Rae and Mina then came back to their happy mood. Accepting Serena's answer and fact of Darien that she had.

' She had been going out with him and should know more about Darien,' thought Rae,' So she should be right about this,'

' I guess Serena is right,' wondered Mina,' I mean Darien can't really be that cruel right?' She then sat down on the chips covered couch,' So I should trust her that Darien would come home,'

" Yeah!" Rae exclaimed aloud just as Serena sat down beside her on the couch that was opposite from the couch Mina was sitting.

" He would come back through that door!" Mina finished for her," He would and I know it!"

The girl let out a cheer with their hands in the air.

" Let's wait here and show him that he can't make a fool out of us!" Serena declared.

Mina, Rae and Serena sat on the couch looking at the hallway that lead to the front door.

They waited and waited and waited.

" I guess he is outside watching us, waiting for us to clean the house," Mina answered.

Rae and Serena nodded and started to clean the house. Serena was dusting and arranging the furniture. Mina was brooming and vacuuming while Rae was making the beds and doing the laundry.

When they were all done and clean they stood in front of the door waiting for Darien to come back just what Serena said.

Hours came and passed. They started to get tired and started to wonder about Darien coming back.

With Serena keeping on telling them that Darien will come back they waited and waited till they fell sleep.

" Serena!" Rae voiced, while shaking Serena awake," Serena! Wake up!"

Serena opened her eyes slowly. She was met by Rae's face. She then jolted up and looked around.

" Did he come?" asked Serena looking around the place.

Serena went to the kitchen, living room, garden, and his room. Looking for Darien.

" Darien?!" Serena stated again. Ending up in the hallway where she woke up, " OK I am tired looking! Tell me where he is already!"

Serena saw Rae holding a sad face. ' No it can't be!' thought Serena. She looked through her friends eyes again to see if she was holding a fraud expression. But to no avail.

" He didn't come back did her?" asked Serena sadly.

Rae nodded.

" It's all my fault!" Serena wailed," If I hadn't gotten mad at you with the donut thing this wouldn't have happened!"

Rae held Serena close comforting her friend.

' Why?' thought Serena as she broke down crying on her friends shoulder,' Why did he leave?'

" It's OK Serena," Rae stated," We were just too much for him to handle,"

' We were just too much to handle?' thought Serena. Serena then stopped crying and looked up at Rae angrily.

" I didn't start it!" Serena snapped, taking Rae by surprise.

" Wha--?" Rae asked backing away from Serena as she charged at her with her finger pointing at her.

" You started it! You always do!" Serena shouted," If it wasn't for you, then Darien would still be here!"

Rae was now back to back with the wall, with an angry Serena in front of her. Rae then looked at Serena angrily.

" I don't start it Serena!" Rae shot back, sticking her face at Serena," You having your loud mouth there and wailing start it!"

" Why you!" Serena then charged at Rae slapping and hitting Rae which Rae, delightfully and furiously, did back to her.

Screams and battle cries from the girls were heard clearly through out the house. Mina charged in the hallway where the girls were fighting from her room, where she was sleeping peacefully.

" STOP IT!" Mina screamed above them all.

Serena and Rae stopped and you could see Serena having Rae's collar in both her hands grasp and Rae having Serena's hair in her hands.

" This is what made Darien leave!" Mina answered pointing at them," Our fights,"

Serena and Rae looked at each other and realized that Mina was right. They let go of each other and stood up and said sorry to each other with a hug.

" But we need Darien," Serena replied putting the furniture that they knocked down to its rightful stand.

" Yeah, he does everything here, like the bills and all--" Rae stated finishing Serena's statement.

Mina shook her head," We don't… We don't need him guys…. If he stayed here with us we won't be able to learn how to take care of ourselves… I mean look at us, we are practically are depending on him."

" We need to learn how to take care of ourselves now, we do."

Mina gave sometime to Rae and Serena to get her words to sink in.

" You're right!" Serena said with enthusiasm," We aren't a bunch of babies! We are women and we can take care of ourselves!"

" That's right!" Rae answered back," We don't need him!"

" Alright!" Mina shouted at the top of her lungs," now let's go have breakfast!"

All the girls nodded and headed for the kitchen. Mina, Serena and Rae sat on the chairs. They waited and waited and waited.

" Well?" asked Serena," Where's breakfast?"

" Well I guess we need to make it ourselves," Mina stated standing up and heading for the fridge.

" What do you guys want to have?" asked Mina who was looking in the fridge.

" I want eggs and bacon," answered Rae.

" And I want eggs with toast," Serena answered looking at Mina.

" OK!" Mina agreed taking the eggs and bacon out of the fridge.

She took them to the counter and opened the cupboard where the pots and pans were and took out a pan.

She opened the lower cupboard and took out oil. She poured it in the pan and placed it on the stover. She then cracked some eggs and poured it on the pan. A couple of minutes later she placed the half-cooked eggs on the plates. She placed the bacon on the pan and took it out a couple of minutes later.

Mina handed the eggs and bacon to herself and Rae. She took some bread and placed it in the toaster. She then left it and went to the table.

" Thanks!" Rae told Mina. Rae took a bite of the bacon and spat it out.

" What the heck!" Rae exclaimed running for a glass of water to rinse out the taste.

" That wasn't nice!" Mina screamed back. She then took a bite of the half-cooked eggs and puked it out.

" EWWW!" Serena and Mina said at the same time.

" Where did you learn how to cook!?" asked Rae who was drinking out of the faucet.

" I never said I knew how to cook!" Mina answered flatly taking out a glass of water and rinsing her mouth with it.

Serena seeing what the two went through eating the food Mina cooked, pushed the plate of eggs away from her.

Rae was sniffing the air, " I smell something burning,"

All the other girls smelled the air and it led them to the smoke filled toaster and the pan on the stove.

The alarm went off making a loud beeping noise. The girls poured water and everything on the toaster and the stove to stop the smoke from coming.

" We……*cough*we have*cough*to turn the stove off*cough*!" Serena siad while covering her nose and mouth from the smoke.

Rae nodded and went to look for the switch through the thick smoke. Mina was looking for the plug. Rae found the switch and turned it off while Mina un plugged the toaster.

The beeping still continued for Serena was still trying to reach for it. When she got it, she twisted it and pulled it out too hard that she fell out of the chair and landed on her butt on the ground.

" Remind me not to let you cook," Serena announced while rubbing her aching bum.

" OK! OK!" Mina stated," So I was kinda bad,"

" KINDA!?" Rae exclaimed," You were terrible, heck! I can't even describe how the way you cooked!"

Mina pouted and Serena answered," Rae! That was mean! Say sorry now!"

" But it is true!" Rae stated defending herself.

" Rae!" Serena exclaimed.

" OK,OK!" Rae then looked at Mina and said," Sorry Mina-chan,"

Mina then got back to her happy mode and stated," S'ok!"

Everyone stayed quiet for a while till Serena's stomach broke the silence with a loud growl.

" Heeheehee!" Serena chuckled nervously," Does anyone want pizza?"

The girls looked at each other a laughed.

" So are we?" Serena asked again.

" Yeah!" Mina exclaimed going to the phone.

" UH huh!" Rae answered her.

" YAY!" Serena exclaimed," FOOD!"

" Serena…" Mina said to no one in particular watching her friend jumping up and down in the kitchen while telling her stomach that it would be filled later.

" Who's gonna pay?" asked Rae sitting down on the chair.

" Ummm………. Mina will!" Serena reluctantly answered.

" Wha---?" Mina asked surprisingly.

" Thanks Mina!" Rae answered," You are such a great friend!"

" Yeah!" Serena stated," I'm glad to have you as a friend! So generous!"

" But-but-!" Mina stuttered.

But Serena and Rae were already gone from the kitchen to the living room.

" UGH!" Mina exclaimed," Huh…. Yeah that's it………how much is it?……….. WHAT!!!"
