Chapter 2: Diving into the Can of Worms
The bell for dismissal rang and everyone began leaving for their homes. Usagi began walking towards Mamoru's apartment building, She turned around and looked at the street behind her. "I thought I saw someone, hmm guess not", she thought as she turned around and began walking again. Heero creeped out of the bush he had jumped under to hide from her view. He stalked after her, only a few yards behind. Usagi ran up the steps and then into the building, she took the elevator to the third floor and knocked on Mamoru's door, "Mamo-chan, it's Usagi your one and only precious love!", she giggled. Heero crept up the stairs and saw Usagi knocking on a door, he narrowed his eyes. Mamoru opened the door a crack, "Usa-ko, what are you doing here today, Don't you have a senshi meeting today ?", his voice was unnaturally cold. Usagi shook her head, "Not until 3, so I thought I'd stop by and be with you until then." Mamoru shifted uncomfortably, "Mamo-chan? Is something wrong?" He averted his eyes, "You usually call before you come over. Usa-ko, I didn't expect you so I'm not really ready for you today, I'm sorry." Usagi's smile, "That's why it's a surprise, silly", She took a step forward, her eyes glossing over. "Mamo-chan, what do you mean your not ready for me today? Am I being a nuisance?" Usagi's voice was now a little ragged with desperation, her eyes kept blinking back her tears. Mamoru sighed in exhaustion, "Usa-ko, don't be a baby. I just wasn't excepting you, the place is a mess and I'm so very tired from the all nighter I pulled. I wasn't trying to...." Before he could finish his statement, a lean figure wriggled through his arm and the crack of the door and smiled, "Who's this Mamoru? Your little sister?" Usagi's mouth dropped open, and the tears fell in torrents down her cheeks, "L-listen I can explain." The women's blue eyes narrowed slightly; setting off her dirty blonde hair, "Explain what?" Usagi's eyes became feral and hard, "Nothing, I guess we'll have to get together another time. I forgot that you may have your girlfriend over, See you later. Onee-chan.", She stressed the word with all the hate she could muster. Usagi turned on her heel and walked briskly off towards the stairs. Heero started to back down the stairs but she had already caught up to him. She looked straight into his eyes and then walked down the stairs. Her eyes were streaming with tears but she didn't mutter one sound of her torment. He watched her walk by him and then run off covering her face.
Ami and Mako sat in the computer lab of Juuban Junior High. Trowa and Quatre entered silently and sat at the other end of the room, out of both girls sight. Ami sat back, a relieved smile curving her lips, "Ami-chan, your amazing. That program you came up with has made this researching alot easier than it was before.", Mako said stretching her arms behind her back. Ami laughed, " Thanks Mako-chan", She blushed, "Though I couldn't have done it without your help." The brunette turned her head toward the blue-haired girl and sat up, "Really, you mean that Ami-chan", her brown eyes sparkled with something deep. Trowa whispered, "I think that Makoto likes Ami." Quatre smiled, "Yes, they are good friends." The brunette boy shook his head, "Not what I meant", the blonde boy's face turned bright red at that thought. Ami leaned closer to Makoto, "Mako-chan can I ask you a conjectural question?" Mako perked, "What is it Ami-chan." Ami leaned a little closer, she was breathing heavy, "If a girl liked you, what would you do?", Mako was caught offguard by the question but smiled, "This." With that simple word she leaned forward and gave Ami a soft, chaste kiss on the lips. Trowa and Quatre both looked into eachother's eyes. "Trowa-kun", Quatre said leaning close to his companion. Trowa knew what was coming so he took the initiative and kissed him with need.
Minako walked down the hallway towards her apartment, she felt a rush of warm air on the back of her neck and turned around kicking high. Her leg smashed into Duo's head, sending him flying to the left wall and then sliding to the floor. She blushed and knelt down near him, "I'm sorry, are you ok?", She laughed, "I thought you were someone else." Duo rubbed the right side of his head, "Glad I'm not that
guy", He laughed with her. She stood up and held out her hand, "What are you doing here anyway?" Duo took her hand and smiled, " I live on this floor but then I spotted you and thought I'd say hi to my Sweets. That is until you kicked my head in, Where did you learn moves like that?" Minako opened her apartment door, "Come in and we can talk, If you want." Duo nodded and followed her into her apartment. The walls were full of Sailor V posters and the shelves were full of Sailor V merchandise. "Welcome to the home of Sailor V", she shifted uncomfortably, "Well at least that was who I used to be when I had a career." She sat down at her brown kitchen table, Duo sat down in the chair across from her. "You seem bitter about that, I bet you loved acting.", he spoke in a hushed tone. Minako smiled, "Thanks for that, it makes me feel better. Would you like some tea?" He nodded, his braid fell over his shoulder. Minako watched it, and swallowed hard. She opened her mouth to speak but no voice came out, She walked over to the counter and began her tea preparations. Minako tried to speak again, "S-so, where was your last school?" Duo laughed, "I came from America. It's not such a great country though." Minako laughed, "I was in England before I moved to Japan. It's been so long, I guess I sometimes forget I've ever been anywhere else.", She sighed remembering her time in England. A single tear slid down her cheek but she wiped it away quickly. She handed him his tea, " Here you are." Duo sipped it slowly then placed it on the table, "Thank you, It's really good." Minako sat down again and looked at her tea. Duo licked his lips, "I remember Sailor V now that I think about it, I once watched an episode. I remember having a crush on Sailor V and wishing that she would be my girlfriend." Minako blushed, "I-is that so." She blushed even redder when Duo nodded in response. Rei swept the Hikawa Shrine's walk way as a black haired boy walked past her and began to pray. He rang the bells and then began walking back towards her. Rei felt something about him, so she followed him with her deep violet eyes. He stopped short and looked at her, "Are you Rei Hino, The psychic?" Rei nodded, "Y-yes I am. Though I didn't realize I was famous", The boy smirked, "I don't believe in that type of crap. Only the weak would actually believe they have ESP." He walked down the stairs, without waiting for her response. Rei began to sweep again, "Chauvinistic Bastard!"
