Chapter 3: Confusion nipping at your Heels

A garnet orb floats in the sky high above Tokyo, A nude Setsuna appears as the orb fades. Clothing materialize over her and she floats slowly to the ground. Upon landing, she begins walking towards Hikawa Shrine which was across town from her position. Usagi; Ami; Rei; Makoto; and Minako, all in their different locations, fell over from the surge of energy that fell over Tokyo. Usagi murmured, "What is this?" Heero watched her closely, he was still following her. Setsuna walks down the street, she glances over at an outdoor café and her face brightens at the sight of Usagi, "Usagi-san, It's been a while hasn't it?" Usagi turned and looked at Setsuna with large sad eyes; Heero looked at the her and swallowed the growing lump in his throat. She had long green hair fastened in a tight bun but still allowing enough hair to flow around her, her eyes were a delicate wine red that held deep pain and loneliness. "Setsuna-san, I missed you", She said softly, looking at her now cool tea as she continued to speak "But I thought you weren't allowed to come back." Setsuna glanced over at Heero, "We should talk about all that later, Are you alright?", Setsuna eyed Heero once more and then patted Usagi on the head, "I've got to be going now. I'll meet you all up at the Shrine a little later. Cheer up, Princess. Nothing could be that bad, right." She smiled then left. Her purple high heels clacked loudly on the sidewalk. Heero looked at Usagi with a sparkle of curiosity in his eyes. Usagi laughed bitterly, "Nothing could be that bad, yeah right." She slumped down in her chair and covered her face with her arms. Heero looked back and saw that Setsuna was far away now. Usagi glanced at her watch, "Oh no, it's almost time for the meeting." Heero began walking in the direction Setsuna had gone off in. Usagi began running towards the Hikawa Shrine, she stopped short and fell to her knees wheezing in pain. Haruka and Michiru were driving by when Haruka saw Usagi and slammed on the brakes hard. "Odango, are you alright?", Haruka jumped out of her car and landed near her. Michiru stepped out of the car and walked over, "Usagi, What's wrong? Can you speak?" Usagi shuddered in pain, "M-my body h-hurts s-so bad, I-It's energy b-but its s-so strong.", She screamed in agony and squeezed Haruka's arms, "H-help m-me!" Michiru winced, her turquoise hair waved around her face, "Why can't we feel this energy? Haruka, I'm confused." Usagi groaned and slumped against Haruka, Michiru took a step forward, "Is she....?", she let the rest of her sentence float through the air. Haruka wrapped Usagi's small form into her arms, "She's unconscious, she'll be fine." Michiru opened
the door to Haruka's yellow mustang and allowed Haruka to place Usagi in the back seat. "Let's bring her to the others, they're probably at Hikawa Shrine.", Michiru nodded in response to Haruka's statement and they drove off.
Ami and Mako walked up the Hikawa Shrine's steps, They abruptly stopped at the sight of Rei's angry face staring back at them. "Everyone is late. It's 3:30 right now and so far I only see you two. Ami and Mako you guys are NEVER late! Usagi and Minako, They're always late but not THIS late. God Dammit! If you guys don't start coming on time I swear to the gods I'm gonna just give up. I'm under too much fucking pressure as it is. I mean it! This late shit has got to stop.", She huffed after everything and her
face went back to it's regular pale color. Ami and Mako sighed, "We're terribly sorry, Rei-san. We just got caught up in our work. We didn't find anything out but we tried to decipher an energy we felt. Did you
feel it?", Rei nodded. Ami continued on, "We thought it was Setsuna but then we felt another energy wave. It was almost painful in nature but it disappeared before I could figure out what it was." "Same here, I
had no idea where it came from." Rei's face melted into a worried expression, I felt it too but it was so intense I felt like my head would explode. What if it hit Usagi or Minako too hard and they're hurt?" Mako opened her wrist watch communicator, "I didn't even think of that", Rei said; her voice was low and guarded not letting the worry seep into it. Mako turned her back to Rei and Ami as her communicator beeped Minako's. Minako appeared on the screen, she was breathing heavily, "Y-yes?" Mako smiled, "Minako-chan are you alright? We were worried about you. Did you feel that energy wave?" Minako nodded, "Y-yeah, I was on m-my way when it j-just hit me out of n-nowhere and I had to s-stop, Sorry
g-guys" Mako shook her head, " No Minako, as long as your ok we're glad. Don't be sorry about being hurt. Where are you we'll come get you?" "I'm down the street from the shrine, Ag-against the bus stop. I'll be waiting." She closed her communicator and Mako's screen went to static. She faced Rei and Ami, "Minako is alright but she's at the bus stop down the street and can barley walk. I'm calling Usagi right now.", She turned back around and flipped her communicator, it beeped Usagi's.
Setsuna walked swiftly down the sidewalk and then ducked into an alleyway. Heero, whom was still trailing her waited a few seconds and then ducked in after her. She grabbed his arms and threw him into
the wall, "Why are you following me? What were you doing with Usagi?", Setsuna held him with all her strength but Heero thrashed attempting escape. Setsuna's hair flew around wildly, Answer me and I'll let
you go." Heero ceased movement and looked into her eyes, "Your suspicious, I followed you out of
protection towards Usagi. I wanted to make sure you wouldn't hurt her, Her judgment of people isn't too guarded." Setsuna released him and nodded thoughtfully, "I suppose that's true. You weren't even
following me too carefully, you know." She smirked, Heero shifted uncomfortably. The alley was small and their bodies were close together. Heero grabbed her arms and pressed her into the wall hard, "I want you to know that I'll have my eyes on you. If you slip up and hurt that girl in anyway I'll make her pain yours, Understand?" Setsuna blinked and then laughed, "What the hell are you trying to pull? I'm not as naive
as the rest of the group and I can tell this is all an act. And not a very good act at that." Heero's grip tightened, "Fine. You know my secret but.......now you can't live." Setsuna attempted to pull from his
grasp but he just held tighter. He pressed his entire body into hers, restraining her completely. Setsuna's face flushed with anger, "You can't kill me. You don't have enough damned power to kill me." Heero laughed harshly, "Your cute when your angry." Setsuna's eyes became glossy, maybe it was the loneliness in her life or just the fact that he was handsome for a brute but whatever the reason. She swallowed and licked her lips and then pressed her face into his hungrily. For a few moments they were completely still except for both of their jaws working against eachothers. Setsuna pulled away and rested her head against the brick wall. Heero face contorted with confusion, he let her go and flattened against the otherside of the alley. She pushed off of the wall, her attitude more composed. She bowed softly, "I-i'm sorry for that I wasn't thinking clearly." She ran down to the end of the alley way and teleported to the Hikawa Shrine, unseen to Heero. Heero's face became blank once more and walked back towards the Hikawa Shrine, "I believe I already know where they all are meeting. That same place I was at the other night", he thought.
