Chapter Four

Mistakes Happen

Jay and Val had gotten the pictures developed, and were now stashed in a very, very safe hiding place.

Val and Jay were now giving Heero and Wufei the silent treatment, which the boys didn't seem to mind.

But truthfully, they did.

Jay was starting to get dressed into her little black dress, that was barely legal for tonight while Val went next door to retrieve Duo.

She walked into his apartment and went straight to his room. She knocked on his door, and he said, “Come in.”

She opened the door to see Duo braiding his hair, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers.

Val blushed, but Duo didn't seem to care.

“Oh, hey Val,” He said, as he struggled with the knots in his hair not really looking at her.

“...”

“Hey Duo, you almost ready?”

“Ah damn, is it that late already?” He said as he looked at her, and then at the clock.

His eyes doubled in size when he looked at her. Or, at what she was wearing anyway.

“Um.... yeah. Jay's almost done, and so I came to see if you were almost ready.” She said, not looking at him, but at the floor.

'Nice eye candy',' She thought.

“Yeah, I'll be out in a minute,” He said, after recovering from his bit of shock.

“Oh, and by the way, you look really nice Val.” He said grinning.

“Thanks Duo. We'll wait for you at our apartment. See you in a few,” She said as she quickly dashed out of his room, as he was now getting dressed.

Val stepped out of his room and let her breath out as she stood up against his door. She opened her eyes to see Wufei and Heero in the kitchen and living room.

'Shit!'

Wufei went bug eyed at what she was wearing, and Heero turned away blushing slightly.

She looked down at her attire and almost hit herself in the head.

'Why did I let Jay talk me into wearing this?' She thought.

“...”, Wufei opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

She walked past him, not even looking at him and walked out the door. She took another deep breath outside of her and Val's door. She was leaning on it, staring at Wufei and Heero's door, almost willing them to come out.

But, instead Jay decided to come out. Val fell back and landed on the hard wood floor of their apartment.

“Ow!” She yelped.

“Oops, sorry about that,” Jay said sheepishly.

Val looked up at her and smiled.

“I doubt that”,” She said as she stood up.

“So, is Duo almost ready?”

“Yeah, he should be done in a second.”

Just then, Duo came out of his apartment, looking very worried.

“Duo, what's wrong?” Jay asked.

“Oh, nothing. I just need to get smashing drunk, that's all!” He said with a grin.

“OK, well lets get the hell out of here.”

They walked out to Duo's car and went straight to the bar.

He decided not to tell them about the death glares he got from Heero and Wufei. At least not at the moment.

It was about ten when they arrived at the bar, and pulled out their fake ID's. Since they were only eighteen and nineteen.

They went straight to the bar and ordered drink after drink. They were dancing, and drinking, just having a lot of fun. Too much fun.

Duo and Val got so drunk that they didn't even realize what they were doing. Who they were dancing with, or who they were flirting with.

Jay was the same way, except for she had found a beautiful, tall long blonde haired man. His blue eyes sparkled down at her as they danced and grinded their hips together.

“Jayden, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” He said in a charming way that turned Jay's legs into Jell-O, making it hard for her to stand. She leaned heavily on him, staring into his eyes.

“Oh Zechs, you know just what to say,” She said without slurring too badly.

He flashed her a pearly white smile that made her sigh heavily.

“How about we continue this conversation at my place,” He said with another dazzling smile.

“Of course, just let me tell my friend.”

She pulled out of his arms and then grabbed his hand, pulling him behind her.

'There's no way in hell I'm losing such a hottie!' She thought as she pulled him towards a cute couple in the corner of the room.

When they reached them, Jay pulled Val from the kiss she was enjoying. She almost growled, until she saw who it was.

“Val, I'm going to leave with Zechs, OK?”

“Sure,” She said.

Duo and Zechs were now staring at each other. Zechs smiled, and Duo was at a lose for words.

“How about you all come back to my place? It's just around the corner here,” He said, flashing another priceless smile.

“Come on, Val,” Jay squeaked.

“OK,” She slurred, while standing up and pulling Duo along after her.

Duo didn't resist but was a little hesitant. He downed the last bit of his beer, and followed them out.

They walked around the corner of the street and made their way to a nice apartment building.

“This is the place.” The blonde haired man announced.

They walked into the lavish building, and headed towards the elevator. Zechs pressed the buttons, since no one else knew where they were going, nor could they see the numbers on them either.

They reached the top floor and emptied out of the elevator into the hallway. No one fell, not yet, anyway. Zechs lead them to his apartment and opened the door.

When they walked inside, they all went, “WOO and AHH!”

It was a rather nice looking place. It was large and everything looked more expensive than all of their things put together.

Zechs laughed lightly at their expressions and reactions to all of this. Everything seemed normal to him.

“Jayden, would you like to see my room?” He asked devilishly.

Jay and Val exchanged looks and smiled.

“Of course,” She said.

The door closed behind them and Val turned back to Duo.

He was looking at something that looked expensive, and then picked it up. She wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. He dropped the item to the ground.

CRASH!

“Shit!” He exclaimed.

The door to Zech's room opened, and a shirtless Zechs stood there.

He looked at the broken sculpture on the ground and sighed.

“That was my birthday present from Relena,” He said.

Duo and Val gulped, and then stammered out at the same time, “Sorry!”

“Don't worry about it. I thought it was hideous anyway,” He said, as he closed the door.

They both let out their breaths, and then laughed. They fell to the floor, and started to roll around. Thankfully, they didn't knock anything else over.

“Yep, Relena does have bad taste in stuff. You should see the clothes that she wears,” He laughed out.

“I have,” She slurred, not really thinking about Relena.

“God, it's hot in here, don't you think? I'm burning up.” He said, as he sat up and took off his jacket.

'Woo, nice muscle shirt. God, he's got a nice chest,' She thought incoherently.

“What'cha looking at?” He asked as he watched her get a hungry look in her eyes.

He was thrown off guard as she pushed him down onto the floor. She straddled him, and started kissing him. He didn't stop her as he kissed her back.

His hands had a mind of their own as they made their way up her shirt, and undid her bra. He threw it to the side, and then pulled off her shirt.

She started to unzip his pants as he flipped her over, so he could slide off her skirt. She giggled as he ran his hands up her inner thighs.

“That tickles,” She breathed out.

He grinned and then turned off the lamp beside them, shielding them in complete darkness. Her giggles were all you could hear, for the moment anyway.

Zechs slowly kissed Jay down her neck and exposed chest. She giggled at the ticklish sensation that followed.

His hands traveled up her sides, and rested on her small hips. He brought his face back up to hers, and stared into her eyes before kissing her sweetly.

'He tastes so goooooood!' Jay thought to herself as she licked at his bottom lip, and then bit it.

She moaned into his mouth as his hands crept slowly up her thighs. Her dress laid haphazardly on the floor, somewhere. But, it didn't concern her at the moment.

But, the moaning didn't stop there. It lasted all night long, in both rooms.

Val woke up with a really bad headache the next morning. She looked around the dimly lit room, and couldn't place it. She rubbed her head, and then remembered last night.

'NO, we didn't!' She screamed in her head.

She hesitantly looked beside her. There lay Duo, completely naked.

'Woo, he looks good,' She thought, and then banged her head against the table beside her.

'Don't think like that, you... you... Whore!'

The banging woke up Duo, who yawned and sat up. He stared at himself, and then at Val.

Realization crept onto his face, and he almost screamed.

'I'm gonna DIE!' He screamed frantically inside his mind.

“Um... Val... did... did we....”

“Yes Duo, we did,” She said, still not looking at him.

“I'm sorry. Please don't hate me?” He begged.

She turned to him, with a look of bewilderment on her face.

“Why would I hate you? This isn't your fault, it's mine.”

Val looked really upset, and disappointed in herself. Duo wrapped his arms around her, and hugged her.

“It's both our faults, and the alcohol,” He tried to smile as he said those words, but instead he grinned.

“What are you smirking about?” She asked.

“I had a lot of fun, though.”

She smiled, “So did I, but don't tell anyone. I don't know what I would do if Wufei found out.”

Duo groaned at that.

“Shit, if he ever finds out, I'm dead.”

She was about to ask him why, but was interrupted when the door to Zech's room flew open.

“Oh my god, oh my god...” Jay kept on saying over and over again.

“Jay?” Val asked.

“I did not just do that!” She said.

“Jay, it's going to be OK. Don't worry about it,” Val said reassuringly.

Jay looked at the scene in front of her, and then laughed.

“Nice ass you got there, Duo,” She said.

Duo blushed slightly, and then laughed too.

He smacked it playfully, and then said, “You know you want it.”

“Put some clothes on you two,” She said.

“Oh, yeah.... almost forgot about that,” Val said.

“Awe, now why did you have to go and say something, Jay. I had a nice view,” Duo said playfully.

Val pushed him and laughed.

“You got a enough of a view last night,” She said while she put her clothes back on.

Zechs popped up behind Jay wearing nothing but a towel. His long hair clung to his shoulders and chest from the water.

Val's eyes went as wide as Duo's when they saw him. Jay looked behind her, and almost jumped back.

“Oh, Zechs. There you are.”

“Leaving so soon?” He said a little sadly.

Jay was fidgeting with her shoes in her hands, completely quiet.

“Yes, we have to search for a job. Both of us,” Val said as she pulled up her mini skirt.

“Uh... yeah, we just moved here and we still need to find us jobs,” She said, while backing away.

“Really? Well, I could help you two with that,” He said as a kind, yet hungry smile graced his lips.

'God, he looks so good. And so evil at the same time,' Jay thought.

“No thank you,” Duo volunteered.

“What they meant to say is that they have a few job interviews today.” He continued.

“Yes, that's it,” Jay said.

“Oh well, if you need any help then just give me a call.” He said as he pulled out a card from no where and handed it to her.

“Sure,” She said.

He grabbed her and kissed her. She fell into the kiss and almost forgot about why she was leaving, and why she couldn't be with him.

'Why do I want to get away from this?' She thought.

'Oh yeah, Heero!'

He pulled back, just as she thought about him.

“We need to go,” She said softly.

“Good bye then, Jayden,” He said.

“Good bye, Zechs.” She said as her and the others left the apartment.

“Damn, that was hard,” She said as they got into the elevator.

“I know. He looked damn good.” Val said.

Something occurred to them then, and Jay asked Duo something.

“Duo?”

“Yeah.”

“How come Zechs doesn't work for the preventers?” She asked.

“He does. He just goes under a different name so Relena will leave him alone. The same with Heero. They both have code names in the preventers.”

“Awe shit!” The two girls both exclaimed.

“Why didn't you tell us?”

“I thought you knew. Don't worry about it. He won't say anything to anyone.”

They both sighed as they exited the elevator and apartment building.

When they arrived at their apartments, they hung around in the hallway, not really wanting to go into their apartments.

“Well, I had fun,” Val said a little uncomfortably.

“Yeah,”Duo said.

Jay was fiddling with something in her purse as they spoke.

“Val.” Duo started.

“Yeah.”

“I'm really sorry about last night. I know you care about Wufei, and well...”

“Don't worry about it,” She said a little bit more comfortably now.

She kissed him on the cheek and laughed lightly as he grinned.

Just then, the door to Duo's apartment opened up and Wufei and Heero popped out of nowhere.

Wufei stared at how close Val and Duo were, and snarled.

Heero was busy staring at Jay, and her very short dress.

'She looks good,' He mused.

Jay turned around and caught his eyes as they made their way up her body. She smiled, and he blushed.

Wufei cleared his throat and asked, “Where were you guys?”

Val moved away from Duo and looked at him as he stared daggers at Duo.

'What the hell? Since when do they care about us?'

“It's none of your business.” She answered.

Wufei looked a bit hurt at these words.

'What the hell?'

“Um... I'll just leave you guys to talk things out,” Duo said as he walked by his roommates, and entered the apartment. He closed the door behind him.

“How about we discuss this in our apartment,” Jay said.

“Sure,” Heero answered as he followed her into their apartment.

Val and Wufei stood there staring at each other before she went in with Wufei behind her. He closed the door as she turned to him and stared at him.

“What's up with you?” She asked.

Wufei didn't say anything as his cheeks burned a bright red, and his eyes fell to the ground.

“Well?”

Heero answered for him and himself.

“We wanted to talk to you two, about the other night,” He said, while trying to focus on something besides how good Jay looked in her dress.

“What about it?” Val asked.

“We're.... sor.... sor.... sor....” Wufei stuttered.

“Spit it out!”

“We're sorry, OK!” Wufei said in exasperation.

“What?” Jay said, stunned.

“I'm not repeating myself,” He said, as he looked away from Val's face.

Val smiled and jumped on Wufei, knocking him to the floor. She laughed as he squealed in protest, but she didn't listen to him.

Jay looked at Heero who was blushing and she too lunged at him. Except, he held her in his arms like a baby, cradling her to his chest.

“We're sorry too,” They said harmoniously.

They had forgotten what it was like with these two in their lives, and were at first scared to let them break down the walls they had created, trying to protect themselves. But now none of that mattered. They were here, and they weren't going to leave; ever. They didn't want them to either.
