Warning: This chapter may confuse you, but I'm going to try and explain it as clearly as possible. There may be some angst in this chapter, I'm not sure. Anyway, enjoy!

Cat-Boy Mayhem Chapter 3: Showering and the Other Cats

"Wake up kitty," Wufei whispered, gently shaking Duo awake. She then pulled her hand away as he stretched, and revealed how very long his claws actually were. The Chinese girl had her new pet sleep on the couch that night, and was thankful it put him to sleep right away.

/Man, this thing is really comfortable. No wonder I'm not allowed to scratch it up, / he thought tiredly, and yawned. He then casually started to lick his hand, rubbing it against his ears. But he stopped when he heard someone say, 'aw.' The realization that she was watching him made him groan. Were all owners like this? Watching your every move and thinking it's cute? He'd have to ask Kurama and Yusuke about that later. For now, he had to listen as Wufei instructed him to follow her.

"I'm sure you used to bathe like that in the wild, but now that you're here, you have to bathe properly," she said leading him into the bathroom. There were so many new smells in that room that Duo became somewhat disoriented. But not too much so, for he was still able to glare and release his claws when the Chinese girl was trying to remove his clothes.

"You have to remove your clothes if you want to bathe," she said firmly, and continued doing what she was doing. Looking down, he found she was wearing the watch, so threatening her would prove to be pointless. This left him with just blushing as he was now left naked, and being pushed into a smaller space. Thinking of it as a cage, Duo placed his hands to the sides, and pushed against it in resistance.

"Get in the shower! It's the only place you can bathe," Wufei stated, and wanted to yell his name, but realized she hadn't named him yet. Stopping what she was doing, she asked, "Did you already have a name or were you nameless? If you were nameless, then what would you think of the name Shinigami?"

/What? I am not going to let her call me some pet name! But I don't want to talk to her at either, / he thought for a second, but decided that he'd rather be called by the name given by his mother.

"It's Duo." /There! I won't speak to her again! /

"Duo? Well that's unusual name. Then again, my name means five wings(1)." With that being said, she pushed him inside the shower, and closed the door. Small mechanical arms then came out, and grabbed his limbs. Trying to break free, he found he couldn't move, and then he felt his hair being undone.

"Please specify temperature," he heard some strange voice say. It was then a lot of water came spraying at him. It was cold! Screaming a little bit, Duo struggled some more to get out of the water's way.

"If you want it to be warmer, just say so," he heard Wufei say through the shower door. Glaring, he said shakingly, "Warmer." The water then warmed up, but not enough. So he repeated the word, and it got warmer. Repeating the word three more times, Duo got the water to the temperature he wanted.

"Hair washing process beginning," he heard that weird female voice say again. He then felt his head be pulled back slightly, and something being put into his hair. /Ugh! This feels weird! What are they putting in my hair?!? When I get out I'm going to--Wait a minute...this feels kinda nice, / he thought as his scalp was being massaged.

As the shampoo was then being washed out, Duo was presented with five different smelling conditioners. The female voice then asked, "Which one would you like? Cherry?" It presented the red one. "Coconut?" He smelled the white one. "Banana?" Then the yellow. "Lime?" That was the green one. "Or strawberry," which was the pink one.

"Lime," Duo stated, liking the sound as well as the smell of it. It was then put in his hair, and he got his scalp massaged again. The rest of the shower proved to be just as comfortable as each of his body parts were thoroughly cleaned, and massaged. Drying up was okay, for now he felt extremely relaxed, and wanted to sleep again.

"There, all done. Now I have to go to work, so come on," Wufei said, having dressed him back up. She led him out of the bathroom, and indicated for him to go through a small door. Confused, Duo just stared at it.

"This door leads to the room the other cats are being held in. I can't leave you in here all by yourself while I'm at work. So go," she said firmly. It only took him a few seconds to go through that door, and then the small tunnel. Peeping his head through the next small door, he found three other cat-boys to be in that room.

Two of them he had yet to meet, the third, which was Yusuke, was taking a nap. Turning his head, he found a small basket to be his place to rest. In fact, every cat had a small basket to sleep in. Crawling out finally, he was surprised to find the door close and shut tightly behind him.

"Hello, who are you," he heard one of the other cats ask him. This one had green eyes also, but they were darker than Kurama's. His hair was almost the same color as his too, but it was short, and had bangs coming out in the front.

"I'm Duo. You," he asked sitting on his basket.

"My owner named me Triton(2)," he said happily. Looking to the other cat, the braded cat-boy asked, "You two aren't from the wild, are you?"

"No, I'm a copy of one. I've been given the name Zechs, but the original is named Millardo," the other stated, and then got into a position that indicated he didn't want to be bothered.

"I don't know what my original was named, but I'm also a copy," Triton answered also. He then asked, "Are you from the wild? Or an original?"

"From the wild. What do you mean original," Duo asked again.

"It means your the first to be created with those physical characteristics. But since your from the wild, I guess no one created you. But that doesn't mean no one can clone you," the friendly cat-boy explained. /I can be...cloned? Does that mean...? /

"Yep, I've seen one or two clones of myself already. I'll bet they'll jump at the chance to clone you," Yusuke stated, yawning.

"At last your up," the braded cat-boy stated, and received a smirk in response. Then they heard another cat coming through the tunnel, and Duo was happy to find it was Kurama.

"Yusuke only has one clone. I on the other hand, have a hundred," he stated having heard the last bits of their conversation. He then smirked and easily dodged the pillow that was thrown at him. Looking to his braded friend, he then said, "It may take them a few years to clone you correctly though. Your eye color will prove to be nearly impossible to duplicate. And their personalities will be different from your own."

"I see. Anyway, are we the only cats that live in this part of the building? Or are there more," the unique eyed cat-boy asked.

"There is one other cat, but his owner takes him everywhere with her," Triton answered. He then looked down and said, "Not that I would like to meet him again."

It was obvious by the tone of his voice that he must've had a bad experience with that other cat. Whoever he was, Duo would be careful.

Meanwhile, at work, Wufei was typing away, but was a bit distracted thinking about Duo. He hardly spoke to her when he arrived, and she wondered why. Did he hold contempt against everyone, or was it just her for buying him? It wasn't until she felt a tap on her shoulder did she jump and realize Lady Une was trying to tell her something.

"Yes, Lady Une, what is it," she asked politely.

"It's about your new pet. I wanted to ask if you were all right with him being cloned. For you see, other girls had saw him too, but only after you bought him. Your sister was one of those girls, and wants to know if she could have a copy of him," Une explained.

"Oh, Meilan(3)? Yes, it is all right, and I'll make sure she treats him properly," Wufei replied, and got a nod and small smile from her superior. As the older woman walked off, her cat-man(4), Trieze, smiled and nodded as well. After they both were some safe distance away, she muttered, "Copy cat. My sister always wants to be me."

She then smirked to herself, because she knew how her sister was. The clone would not satisfy her personality wise, because he would be too affectionate, too weak, too nice, and just not original. He wouldn't have the same color eyes as Duo, or the same wildness about him. Indeed, her sister will still be jealous. That didn't mean she would mistreat the pet though. Not on Wufei's watch.

Now do you understand how they have so many? They clone those that are popular. Anyway, here are those numbers:

(1) That one dedicated fan who did research on Wufei and the Chinese culture, found out wu means five. Well, we all knew that kinda. And fei means wings. So his name is five wings. Again, this is why Wufei's name is considered ugly in China, because no parent would name their child after a number then put wings with it. Doesn't match. My poor Wu-bear!

(2) I'll bet you guys thought Quatre got Trowa. Nope, she got Triton. Sure that's Trowa's original name, but in this story, he's a clone. Don't worry, I'll have the real one appear soon.

(3) I know most say Meiran, but remember this, in Japan, THEY DON'T HAVE L IN THEIR LANGUAGE! So of course if you directly translate it, it's Meiran, for R replaces L in their language. But she's Chinese, and Meilan is name they have there. Ah who cares, write her name however you want. I'm just going to keep using Meilan.

(4) Technically, he ain't a kid. He's an adult, so it just works to call him a cat-man. See? I did put Trieze in here.
