Reading Between the Lines: Cyren's Song
Chapter 4: Ghost in the Halls
By: Kellendraysia
Soft foot falls echoed almost eerily in the empty hallway as Cyren searched for a quite area away from all the other pilots, as well as everyone else, to finish her work. She checked all the halls that she went down thoroughly as she moved deeper and deeper into the complex. Finally coming to what was probably the deepest room, within the complex, at the end of a hallway she again checked the surrounding area. She had not come across anyone as she had progressed deeper into the complex and she was going to make sure that she kept it that way. When she felt that the hallway was secure, she cautiously entering the room. After a quick inspection, she carried her duffel over to the farthest corner of the room, away from the door and behind a table, and set it down. Crouching down next to the duffel she quickly and carefully removed her laptop and cables. Setting the laptop down just a little ways from the wall, in the corner, she flipped up the screen before she got up and finished connecting the cables to the wall a few feet, away after connecting them to the laptop itself. She then returned to the corner and sat down, with her back to the wall where there would be no chance of anyone sneaking up behind her or catching her off guard and she went to work. She could still view the entire room from her seat in the corner, her senses alert to every minuet noise.
"Let's see how well Romafeller likes this," Cyren breathed softly as a vengeful grin slipped across her face as she began to hack progressively deeper into Oz's systems.
The sound of her soft typing seemed to almost echo within the hallway that the room she was located in like a ghost. Several members of the Maquinaks walked past the hall and never noticed the soft sound of her typing. It would not be till late into the night that the sound was noticed by one of the pilots.

"Hmmm," Heero mused softly as he walked past the hall.
He had managed to avoid all of the questions that his companion pilots had asked so far, but he knew there would come a point in which he couldn't avoid them any longer. Heero hoped that he could have some answers by then. He had no idea on how to approach his twin and this bothered him to no end. She was back after all these lonely years of believing that she was dead, praying she was alive.
What am I to do? I have so many questions that I want to ask, but when will it be the right time to ask them? He thought as he continued on down to his room. He doubted that she was about to listen or respond to what he wished to know. So again he was frustrated to no end, damned if he asked, damned if he didn't, neither option looked favorable. He entered his room and stood there for a moment before turning around to face the closed door. He stared at it, recalling the look upon his sister's face when he first saw her. Then he recalled the look upon her face when she fought with Wufei and he punched the door, hard.
Duo paused and turned his gaze to Heero's door as he saw it lurch outward. Wait a moment, he thought. These doors don't move like that, the slide from side to side; they don't swing in or out. He scratched his head a moment, whose room is…never mind I know whose room that is. What's bothering him? He walked over towards Heero's door.
"Well I always wanted to loose my head in an interesting way," Duo commented aloud as he knocked upon Heero's door.
The knock was greeted by silence for the first while as Heero stood there fist still resting in the site of impact from where he punched the door. It wasn't till Duo actually knocked a second time that he actually answered it. Removing his fist from the dent that he made in the door he pushed the door release and it slid open.
"What do you want?" He asked Duo in an emotionless tone as he rubbed his right hand working the dislocated fingers back into place along with the broken one.
"Is every thing alright? From what I know of the building the doors are not made to swing open and apparently yours was trying to. What's going on?" The braided one asked as he placed his hands on his hips. "This isn't like you, you're normally cool as a cucumber and look at ya, ya seem to be fallin' to pieces all of a sudden."
"I'm fine," was all that Heero stated before shutting the door in Duo's face, before he turned and walked over to his bed to lay down. Once there he stared at the ceiling again, lost in thought.
"Geez! Stubborn pain the…" Duo muttered under his breath as he walked away from Heero's door and down to his own room. Once there he climbed into his hammock and was soon fast asleep.

Cyren decided that she was going to do far more to the Romafeller Foundation then simply wiping the files upon the Gundams, she was going to take much more from them. If she would have taken care of just the Gundam files she would have been done hours ago but she decided to play. After erasing all of the valid information upon the Gundams, including her own and replacing it with false info, she decided that even false information was too good for them.
Files Deleted…came up upon the screen with the flashing cursor upon her laptop. With a push of a single button all the information that Romafeller had with in their systems upon the Gundams, as well as, herself was gone. She then decided to leave something special for Romafeller to find a virus. A destructive virus of her own creation, left as a special gift for Duke Dremail.
"I hope they can stop it in time," Cyren murmured to herself sarcastically with a devilish smile as she hacked her way back out of Oz's system leaving a ten second delay for the watch dogs in the system to reactivate. She then shut down the laptop and collected her supplies, returning them to the duffel. When she was done she slipped out of the room leaving it just the way she found it, silent and undisturbed. She moved back towards the hanger cautiously without being seen and she headed for the small door out of the hanger, unknowingly being watched by her twin. Upon reaching the door, she found it locked. When she went to examine the large hanger door she found that it was locked as well, not only locked but trapped as well. That is when Heero decided to take a chance and speak to his twin. It didn't take long for Cyren to turn away from Heero and return to her Gundam. She waited for her twin to leave before entering her Unit. Opening an unseen hatch in the belly of the beast she slipped inside, closing the hatch behind her. Moving a few things around she laid down upon a well-used sleeping bag and fell into an uneasy sleep.
