Summary:Heero and Duo like each other however each thinks the other likes some one else. So unbeknownst to each other they start writing to the same columnist in a local news paper for advice.

Dear Sally

part 1

"Duo!" Heero shouted from the hall way we're going to be late for the.."

"Meeting, yeah yeah." the Shinigami shouted back "I'm almost ready, stop stressing."

Heero sighed an impatient sigh." I don't stress. I calculate the situation and react accordingly.... you_stress!"

"I do not, Now where's my cap?"

Heero watched as the violet-eyed Shinigami dashed around the house looking for his cap

For ten minutes the frantic boy searched the house and Heero stood arms folded not saying a word just watching

"Don't just stand there Heero help me find my cap." He picked up the cushions from the couch looking under them "Damn! I'm sure I had it before I left the bathroom, damn, damn, damn !!"

The blue-eyed boy still remained silent, saying nothing, a grin spreading over his face.

"Heero this isn't funny.. You know how much that cap means to me!!"

Finally in utter frustration he kicked the couch, " WHERE THE HELL IS MY CAP.."

The perfect soldier sighed and walked up to him grabbing the cap from the Shinigami's head and throwing it at him." Looking for this? "

"M, my cap?" He said with an embarrassed and dumbfounded look on his face.

Heero smirked triumphantly "I rest my case, oh ye who doesn't stress!"

"That was so unfair Heero." The braided baka pouted. "You knew it was there all the time and you didn't tell me!"

The Japanese boy raised an eye brow. "If you think that was unfair wait until we get to the meeting. Quatre said something about having to wash the camels if we arrived late this time.."

Violet eyes widened and a hand shot out grabbing the other boy's sleeve."Shit let's go. If I drive I'm sure we can make it in time."

"Like hell Maxwell. If you drive in this frame of mind we'll be dead." Heero grinned pulling away from Duo's grip and grabbing the keys to the car off the arm of the couch before the God of Death had a chance to even look at them.

Duo laughed lightly, "With friends like you Mr perfect soldier, who needs enemies!"

Heero reached the front door first and turned to face his smiling friend and waved the keys about in his face "You say that now Duo Maxwell but one day you're going to...."

"....Catch you completely off guard and grab the keys from the car off of you" He said grabbing for them and missing completely as Heero held his hand high above his head grinning.

"As I was about to say before I was so rudely interrupted by you....." The blue-eyed boy replied with a large teasing smile on his face. ".... One day you're going to say gee Heero I wish I was as cool, calm and collected as you!"

Duo raised both his eyebrows. "In your dreams buddy." He laughed boisterously, opening the front door "Only in your dreams!"

Heero had managed to keep Duo out of the drivers seat and they made it to Quatre's with less than a minute to spare.

The other boys were there on time as usual and all eyes turned to watch as Heero and Duo finally entered Quatre's drawing room.

Quatre immediately glanced down at his watch. "Do you realize how close you two came to washing my camel's?" he grinned, looking back up at them.

Duo shrugged. "Hey I thought we did well." he said looking over at Heero, a mischievous smirk on his face. "Considering the snail like pace our Mr Yuy here drove the car, I'm surprised we even left the front yard."

Heero rolled his eyes and sat in-between Wufei and Relena ."That's not even worth a reply. " he whispered to Relena with a wink.

She grinned and Duo shook his head. "Ha! I heard that." The violet-eyed baka retorted pretending to be insulted and sitting on the other side in-between Wu fei and Hilde.

"Is there no end to your constant chattering Maxwell?" Wufei asked in his usual manner

The Shinigami just grinned .."Is the world a square?"

"You've left yourself wide open for comment there Duo." Hilde said grinning and nudging the God of Death with her elbow.

"Never mind!" Wu Fei gave up, he could see Duo was in one of his more * stranger * moods.

Trowa piped up in the back of the room coming out from the shadow of the curtains, "Quatre the meeting, we need to begin now."

Quatre smiled at the taller boy and nodded. "Ok. I have some good news ."

"About time. " Wu Fei responded

"Shit what happened there." Duo grinned.

"Zechs has ordered down time for every one."

Duo cheered loudly and Wu Fei glared at him . "I only have 2 ears Duo Maxwell and one of them has just been rendered 90% inefficient, Thankyou!."

"Oh come on Wu Fei lighten up. I mean the man added new words to his vocabulary. Down time, come on ..Wu-bear say it with me ....... Down time! "

"I am -not- Wu-bear "

"Aaaany way!!" Quatre began forcefully re-directing the attention towards himself. "We have three months maybe four months off. Nothing much is happening right now so Zechs said to make the most of it."

"Too damn right I will! " Duo said as a cheesy grin spread across his face.

Heero shook his head and sighed. "I think next time he requests I pass him the sugar for his cereal I'm going to deny the mission."

"Duo grinned and sat back placing his hands behind his head. "Sure, sure, Mr Perfect soldier I didn't have all that much."

"Of course not, it was only 12 table spoons of sugar on 4 wheat bricks. "

Hilde poked him in the arm, " That is disgusting Maxwell. I mean how are you supposed to even taste the stuff ?" she asked him.

Duo sat there looking quite unperturbed smiling away. "Simple my dear Hilde, with my taste buds, everyone has `em you know."

"Really ?" Wu Fei entered, "I can see your problem now Maxwell "

"Problem what problem?" he asked puzzled

Wu Fei hid the smile that wanted to creep up onto his face as he continued. "In order to compensate for the areas of lateral thinking you lack in, your tastes buds took advantage of the extra space upstairs and invaded, hence the final result, the Duo Maxwell we see today "

Duo shrugged. "Heh, yup, Adventurous wise wonderful cute and sexy aren't I .."

Heero burst into fits of laughter. "Well I wouldn't go that far Duo. Maybe occasionally you do do some cute stuff, and you are pretty adventurous, but I don't know about the wise, wonderful and sexy." he smirked.

"So you think I'm cute huh?" Duo grinned winking mischeviously. "Didn't know you cared Yuy. "

Heero blushed.

"Er guys I'm trying to run a meeting here can we just tone it down for another few minutes? I'm almost done."

Duo snickered in Hilde's ear. "That's a first.... a short meeting"

She elbowed him in the ribs "Shh. Duo. Geeze I'm gonna come over and hide the sugar myself."

"Now that's a pick up line I've not heard before." Duo wrapped an arm around her and she blushed.

Heero sighed shaking his head again

"Duo!!" Trowa said forcefully. "Please just let Quatre finish then you can be as -"

"Do not say it " Wu Fei warned him

Duo grinned "Ok, ok I'm sorry I'm just in a great mood that's all." He nodded to Quatre.

"Go ahead I'll behave."

Quatre sighed a short sigh of relief. "Ok, .Zechs also asked me to tell you that there's an extra bonus in the pay checks this week. He said that should cover the 3-4 months expenses and the extra is yours for whatever."

Duo sat upright and Hilde's hand shot out and clamped over his mouth as he opened it. "Sorry Duo but right now I like you better this way." she grinned at him.

Duo sat back in the chair and folded his arms mumbling something inaudible at her and she grinned even more.

"One more thing...." Quatre announced. "We have to be on stand by at all times just in case something does happen, so keep in contact with Zechs and each other at all times." He glanced at Trowa. "And I think that's it?"

Trowa nodded and Quatre turned to Hilde. "Ok you can let him go now. " he grinned.

Hilde removed her hand from Duo's mouth and he immediately turned on her tickling her relentlessly.

"Ha! gag me would you." He laughed, rolling them onto the floor

"Stop it Duo!" she laughed as he kept up the pace.

"Noooooo Duo! Cu... cut it out. Aaaahhhhhh stop, stop it, stop it, nooo." She laughed so hard she could barely move and then finally he stopped.

The two of them lay on the floor breathlessly laughing.

"That'll teach you to mess with me!" Duo grinned

"So what are you doing after lunch Duo?"

"Nothing as far as I know. " He replied.

Heero reached down and held his hand out to Duo. "Are you quite finished?" he asked, a little annoyed glaring at the Shinigami.

The violet-eyed boy pulled a face at his friend. "Yes why? What's wrong?"

"We need to get going so we can finish the house work. Remember you said you'd help this time Duo!" He said with yet another stronger glare as he pulled him from the floor.

Quatre walked up to them a little disappointed. "Oh so you can't stay for lunch this time then? "

Duo got up from the floor and held his hand out to Hilde helping her up "I guess not."

The God of Death said, a little disappointed himself. "I did promise him I'd help. Sorry Hilde maybe next time k?" he apologised to her.

"No problem Duo. "

Relena stood and walked up to Heero. "Before you go are you able to take a look at a computer program for updating the electrical systems for my place. My people sent it to me but I'm not the expert in this field and you're the only one I can trust with it.'

Heero nodded. "I can manage that. Have you got it with you?"

Relena nodded and dragged him over to the chair and side table and took it out of her brief case.

Heero pulled up his laptop and started it up taking the program disc from her.

Duo sighed and Hilde shrugged and sat back down to talk with WuFei.

Trowa walked over to Quatre and smiled at him glancing at Heero. "You know if I didn't know any better lover, I'd say Heero was jealous!"

The blonde blinked. "Heero, the Perfect soldier, jealous? Of what?"

"Duo and Hilde being so close. He was annoyed at the situation and reacted in a way that I feel came across as jealousy." The taller boy noted.

"I guess." Quatre agreed. "I mean he was originally quite happy about staying for lunch when I mentioned it on the phone the other day. Although I really couldn't imagine Heero as being that way inclined." he replied grinning at the taller boy.

"Yes but I felt the same way about you before I took the chance and kissed you."

"I remember that." Quatre blushed as the taller boy wrapped his arms around him and pressed his lips firmly against his own.

"Later lover, later." Quatre said squirming his way out of Trowa's arms.

"It's a date then." Trowa blew a kiss at the already blushing blonde.

"You bet!" the blonde-haired boy replied with a wink.

"Alright then... " he continued in a loud voice. "All those who are staying for lunch let's head into the dining room. Lunch should be waiting for us as we speak "He turned to face Heero who was handing back Relena her disc.

"And then that's all you need to do with it, alright?" Heero finished with a smile.

"Thank you Heero I really appreciate you looking at it for me." She said kissing him on the cheek …

Heero blushed. "Any time " he let her know as she was dragged away by Hilde.

"Hey did you hear that your brother is thinking of asking Noin to....." The chatter faded as the two girls headed into the dining room.

"Are you sure you won't stay Heero?" Quatre asked seeing his chance while Heero was again free.

Heero shook his head. " If I don't get him to do it now It'll probably take me another month to get him to do it. Sorry Quat.."

Quatre nodded, "I understand. Next time then right? " he said patting Heero on the shoulder.

"Hn"

"Are you alright to let yourselves out?"

"Sure thing." Duo piped up. "What about you Wu bear? What are you doing? You staying?"

"I am NOT Wu bear Maxwell and yes I am staying for lunch, but I'll be around at 6pm tonight to pick up the report on the new Headquarters that you have for me Heero."

Heero nodded. "I have one paragraph left to do as soon as we....." He said glaring at Duo, "....get finished with the housework, I'll finish the report . It will be ready by the time you get there Wu Fei."

"Then I shall see you tonight" He said heading off towards the dining room

"Well, we're out of here Duo." Heero said grabbing him by the sleeve as he tried to head off towards the dining room after Wu Fei.

"Heeeeero. You're so mean. I'm hungry"

"I'll buy you lunch on the way home alright?"

"YAY !!"

Heero shook his head. "Now say good bye to Quatre and Trowa. "

"Bye guys." He said waving as Heero literally dragged him out of the house by the collar.

"I'll call you to let you now about the Documented Gundam Site for Zechs when I get it done."

"Later guys..." Heero said as he opened the Drawing room doors still dragging the God of Death behind him.

"OW HEEEROOOO! " They heard Duo yell as the door shut on his leg.

Trowa stood there shaking his head and a wide grin on his face. "See? If that's not a sign of love then what is?"

The blonde grinned back pulling a face at him. "You have a strange perception of love if that's the case then Trowa!"

A mischievous smile developed on the taller boy's face and he bent down a little placing his forehead onto his lover's. "Would you like to see just how strange then?" he said, as he kissed the tip of the blonde's nose..

Quatre blushed. "If you can catch me!" he laughed, taking off towards the dining room at a sprint.

"In the famous words of Heero Yuy" Trowa grinned as he chased after him.

"Mission accepted!!! "…
