Blarg, I'm lazy today so I think this is all I'm gonna put up here for the week…sIck as fuck and overloaded at work BLAAARG!

Zetsuii: nice on teh FIRST! Heheh. Thanks for the props and glad ya like teh story. Gotta decline the offer for a beta though. My first and only experience with one went bad, changed my story too much. I'm sure there's some grammar and spelling, but I did correct a lot of it. Still, sure some gotta away from me, but meh. The last person to beta changed too much of the story and lost the voice of it. Plus, dude, that's a lotta work. Someone's gotta take the time to beta it, then I gotta read it again to see if I like it and I'm way tpo lazy for all that. I've read this thing too many times as it is…almost sick of it…almost XD
Heh, yeah I'm kinda a shitty author like that, don't get me wrong, I love the story, but it ain't like I'm getting it published er nothing, just thoughts in my head I had to write down and felt like sharin ya know.
And I can't tell you what Duo's hiding…don't even think he knows, but he is kind of a dick to chicks…I don't know what's up with that…the fuckin jerk >_<

Ch. 10: Thought Combattery

“Fuckin deviant.” Charlie grunted pushing me to the floor causing my head to crack against it as he stood clearing his throat.

“What the hell man?” I propped myself up on an elbow rubbing my head looking up at Charlie, his eyes were focused on Yuy who reflected the look. The two were sharing something that I wasn't privy too. The hell was going on?

“I should go.” Charlie said moving to the door casting me a glance. Yuy flipped the phone closed in his right hand holding said hand up to Charlie stopping him. That reminded me. I grabbed the phone from my pants.

“You're in direct violation of Preventer's law 820. The information you have seen is top secret Mr. Fitter.”

Charlie didn't flinch at Yuy's harsh tone, just stared him straight in the eyes and spoke. “You need to tell him yourself before he reads it in the file. Not for his sake, but for yours. It's the only way you'll get any closure. You don't back down from anything, right Yuy?” Charlie gave a cocky grin. “I'll wait outside.”

Yuy dropped his hand looking away from Charlie. I was stuck by awe. Charlie was fuckin incredible. He could even tame Yuy's crazy ass.

Charlie stepped outside leaving the two of us alone. The small room was quiet. I tossed the phone to the futon as I stood up looking at Yuy.

“What the hell are you doin here anyway? You gonna arrest me again? Big fuckin surprise there and you should have known Sandman was gonna find out bout this shit anyway. Dude is always with me. He's gonna know if I act any different. Shit, like it fuckin matters. Ain't like you guys have shit to go on. Isn't better for more people to be lookin for dude than just me?” Yuy didn't reply. “Whatever man. If you're gonna arrest me, fine, but I'm havin another beer first.” I snorted walking by him.

He mumbled something I wasn't able to catch. I made it to the fridge grabbing a beer, popping it open on the counter before turning back to him leaning against the fridge, right foot resting on it. “What was that?” I asked taking a drink.

“This distance is breaking me apart.” He said looking up at me. I dropped the bottle from my lips cocking my head at him as I swallowed the beer down, we were only a couple feet from each other, even if I was on the other side of the room like I had been it wasn't that far.

“What?” He wasn't making any sense and I wasn't even drunk yet.

“This distance.” He said moving closer to me he dropping his phone on the way. His left hand came to rest next to my head on the fridge. I glanced at it moving the beer to my left hand brining it strategically to my lips as his face was much closer now and I was feeling a bit anxious for some reason. His hand grabbed the bottle from me dropping it to shatter against the floor.

“Dude what the…” My words trailed as two things happened simultaneously my left had that had been holding the beer went for him, which he took hold of pinning against the fridge and his leg snuck between mine pushing gently against my better half, which had been neglected for far too many days.

“It's breaking me apart.” Yuy barely breathed against my lips before his met them. I was still in shock my body going on autopilot reacting like it would with it's normal fair, though this was the farthest thing from normal fair.

My lips parted to accept his tongue while mine went to explore his mouth. My right hand snuck above his left arm that he was bracing himself against the fridge with and went to the back of his head. I took control of him by a grasp of hair in an instant our positions changed as I pulled from the kiss my lips going to the nap of his neck to nibble and bite there. My body only wanting physical release. My left hand was now pinning Yuy's right and bracing me while my right pushed greedily against the shirt he wore wanting to feel the body beneath. My lower half pressed against his leg letting him know I was at full erection and suffering.

“Maxwell!” The authoritative bark found my ears as the hand gripped my braid yanking it down and my entire head that way freeing him from my assault. My yearning violets stared into the cobalt depths. “Do you have any idea what you're doing?”

“I'm always in control.” I smirked licking hungrily at the corner of my lips.

Yuy shook his head as he pushed me away from him, way harder than he needed, sending me to the other side of the small room. He placed his hand on my chest holding me against the wall. I glowered up at him.

“Understand what I'm saying to you Maxwell. It's not primitive need that draws me to you.” Yuy went to the door letting me go, not the best idea. I was behind him in an instant my hands slamming against the door forcing it closed from the crack he had opened it.

“You're the one that started this. What makes you think I'm gonna let you back out now?” I murmured sharply into his ear.

The elbow took me in the gut as the foot simultaneously hooked behind mine sending me down on my back. Yuy was instantly on top of me gun drawn, pressed determinedly against the side of my head.

“Isn't that ironic coming from you.” He spat through gritted teeth. “You've done everything in your power to push me away and now you want me to stay?” A visious chuckle left him. “You're still nothing more than a selfish child. You think you can manipulate me again? Not this time Maxwell, I'm not going to play your stupid game. I've had enough!”

I wasn't exactly certain what was going on, but he sure as hell got my mind back into reality. What the fuck was I doing? God damn penis getting me into all kinds of trouble. And in trouble I was. Yuy's elongated silence wasn't about him waiting for me to reply, it was something far worse. The set of his eyes, the beads of sweat forming on his forehead, he was determining if he would pull the trigger. I don't say could, because there was no doubt in my mind Yuy could off me. He was the perfect soldier; everyone was fair game if necessity called for it. Frightening enough, I'd done something that had necessity looking up my number.

Yuy gnashed his back teeth together pushing my head to the side hard with the barrel of the gun. He clicked his tongue in annoyance as he stood from me reholstering the gun. I propped myself up on elbows watching him go to the door.

“Yuy…” I trailed. I felt like I had to say something, course my mind was chalk full of vacancy's at the moment so I really had nothing. Thankfully Yuy cut me off.

“Don't say another word.” For once I kept my mouth shut; Yuy's voice was quivering in withheld rage. I'd fought side by side with the guy back in the day. I knew well what he was capable of when he was a little mad and I wasn't for having a bullet between the eyes at the moment.

Yuy slammed the door behind him as he went; I was still trying to wrap my head around what just transpired in the tiny room. I rubbed my hand over my face as I got up going to the fridge. The glass crushing under my feet from Yuy's alcohol abuse. I grabbed a beer drinking it down in mere seconds.

“So he told you then?” Charlie's voice drifted to me from the door he closed behind him. “I'm guessing it didn't go well since he didn't say shit to me about reading the files and looked a bit more than pissed.”

I glanced at Charlie from the corner of my eye getting another beer doing the same I had with the previous.

“Pitbull, you sportin a boner?” The last drink of beer I had just taken found its way back out of my mouth in a spray as my hand instantly covered the topic of conversation.

“No.” I coughed wiping my mouth with the back of the hand holding my beer.

“Eh? So you like dick. Ha I always knew it. So you gonna be the bottom? With that long hair you even look like a chick.” Charlie laughed. I wasn't laughing; it was way too soon to joke about.

“Fuck this shit.” I grunted going for the door. I wanted to forget it. Forget everything that happened in the last few minutes. Heero didn't come out and say it, but it was there floating in the air, hovering around me just waiting to strike and slither into my brain hooking it's diseased claws into the soft wrinkles never letting me escape the knowledge.

“You gonna go to O'Brien's with a hard on? Come on Pitbull, the guys will fuckin kill you if you go there anyway.” Charlie reached for me and I slapped his hand back.

“Just don't man.” I murmured not even giving a glance.

“What the fuck's your problem Pitbull?”

“I'm out.” I snapped ditching him in my apartment. It was a shitty thing to do, but I needed to escape. He was right; Obrien's was out of the question. The guys would ask me too many questions and I wouldn't have the right answers.

I stopped at the convenience store grabbing a six pack before heading to the train. I drank two at a fast pace and got on the train. It took me twelve stops to finish the six pack. I got off the train my plan set in motion. Six pack on the train, when it's done get off the train and head to the first place with booze. Amazingly it took me two blocks from the station to find a club. I didn't care what it was like as long as they had some hard liquor.

I glanced up at the back lit black metal sign that was in the shape of the mathematical pi. It was clever name I thought as I pushed open the heavy wooden door. I was immediately met by the loud thumping bass and heavy synthesizers. The club was darkly lit with deep blue and red giving it a heavily gloomy ambiance. The only brighter light was at the bar, which was still pretty dim. I wasn't too displeased, it meant less people would notice me, though I was standing out something fierce as everyone was in black, red and other darker colors and I was still in my white construction pants. I didn't waist anymore time thinking of it going straight to the bar.

There were some tables behind it where groups were sitting giving me a mix of looks that I couldn't make out in poor lighting. Beyond the bar and tables was a huge dance floor that was already brimming with people flowing to the beat. I caught some nice looking bodies in the flashing lights, feeling myself relax a bit as I reaffirmed my hetroness.

I found a place at the bar, which was actually pretty open. It was nice since I figured I wouldn't be bothered. The bartender came to me in a second.

“What can I get for ya man?” He smiled leaning towards me so we could hear each other in the loud club. A silver ring hugged the left side of his lip. There was another in the middle of his nose and two matching on the end of each of his eyebrows. His black hair was spiked up in a substantial mohawk and his arms were covered in tattoos. The black tank top hugged his body, which was well toned. The tattoos seeming to cover all of him up to his neck. He looked young in the face, but hell I looked younger than I was too.

“Shot of Makers Mark and leave the bottle.”

The bartender got what I asked smirking at me. “Rough day eh?”

I took down the shot pouring another. “You could say that. Can I get a beer too? Whatever's cheap on tap.”

He gave a whistle. “Really rough day.”

He brought me the beer setting it in front of me as I took down another shot and used the beer as a chaser. I was going to get tore and forget it all.

“Course you got sometime to make up for after bein locked up for two days right Maxwell?” The man was grinning at me obviously recognizing me. Not that I didn't expect it.

“Heh, you don't know the half of it.” I said honestly doing some tactical drinking.

“Wow, wasn't for sure it was you. You gotta lotta look alikes round here.” He leaned even closer looking into my eyes. “Yep those're the real thing. Man that's an amazing color. It's no wonder you're always with all them hot chicks.”

“Yeah, it's no wonder.” I grunted back drinking more getting saved by another patron wanting a drink.

I wasn't in the mood for idle chatter just wanting to get plastered. I kept drinking the shots not able to get Yuy's words out of my head or what I did. I could still feel the softness of his lips on mine, feel the muscles beneath his clothing, and smell the mix of his natural sent the smell of the oceans on earth and gunpowder that assaulted my senses when my lips met his neck. My head smacked against the bar. With Yuy? What the hell was I thinking?

I had never even kissed a dude in my life before that. I mean I'd almost kissed Charlie a few times, but that was just fucking around. It wasn't like that with Yuy, but I wasn't serious either. I just wanted to get off. He on the other hand…

I eagerly drank a shot then chugged the rest of the beer pushing the glass forward signaling for a refill as I subdued my thoughts with more booze.

“You look like ya got somethin on yer mind. I gotta ear.” The bartender said leaning to me.

“Thanks for the offer, but I already got enough ears.” I said nodding up to the left side of the ceiling. It was where I would put a camera.

The bartender nodded his head. “Well, how bout I tell ya a little secret?” He leaned closer to me. “They're on a time delay and we edit `em before we run `em. The Preventer's are gettin yesterdays feed or more, what they need to of yesterday's feed.” He grinned at me as he nodded for me to look behind me. I glanced over my shoulder squinting at the table behind me. I couldn't make out great detail but it was obvious the crew occupying the table was snorting something from it and I was sure it wasn't sugar or the like.

My attention moved to the surrounding tables seeing there was a lot of recreational drug use happening around me. There was no way I could deny the guy was telling the truth because if the Preventer's saw any of that this place would be shut down in a nanosecond. My eyes moved around the building to the ceiling and walls. I was sure we built it, but I didn't know it was a club.

“Was this place always here?”

“Naw, it used to be a book store, but the owner bought it and turned it into a club last year. It was a good idea since we play a lot of underground music here, mostly industrial, synthpop, and EBM, but we have some punk days too so we're always pretty packed.” The bar had filled up pretty well, course most the people were at the tables or on the dance floor; the bar itself was still pretty open. Granted there were substantially more people here than had ever been at O'Brien's on their fullest days.

“Money must be good.” I did another shot sipping on the beer.

“Yeah, well we sell a lot of different things here.” He smiled. I had a feeling I should just leave that alone.

The tap came to my shoulder. I looked over it at the person who felt the need to bother me.

“Are you Duo Maxwell?” The sultry voice asked. I raised an eyebrow at her. She was something right out of an S&M fantasy. The leather corset was tight pushing her breasts upward making me want to bury my head there. He lips were luscious painted a deep red. My eyes got stuck there, but I wasn't thinking about her anymore.

“Naw, you got the wrong guy.” My voice cold as I brushed her off.

“Please, I know you are. What is it; you don't do women in leather? They have to be the fake plastic type?” She was mad, must of never been rejected and trust me I wouldn't of any other time, but today wasn't the right day.

I glared at her from the corner of my eye. “You really want to get fucked and dropped that bad? Become a prostitute, least you'll get paid for it.” It wasn't the right day at all.

She said nothing back stunned silent by my rudeness.

“I gotta take a leak. Watch my drinks man.” I nodded to the bartender who'd been standing there the entire time with a bemused look playing on his face.

I somehow found the bathroom and entered. It seemed to be the only well lit area in the place. I went to the unoccupied stall farthest away from the door realizing I was getting pretty lit. Course that was an afterthought to the main problem of still being hard, making urinating the secondary priority. I was sick of having a boner and it was getting painful. I sighed taking down my pants, sitting and spitting on my hand trying not to think what I was doing and where I was doing it as I heard the farthest toilet flush and the guy leave.

I went to it stroking myself slowly adding more lubrication when needed. I closed my eyes focusing on the feeling, images of random women filling my head. I froze when a bang came on the wall from the stall next to me. I heard hushed speaking. I quickly glanced up making sure I wasn't being spied on, but all was well.

The hell was going on in there? I leaned my ear against the wall trying to get an idea. There were murmurs, but I couldn't make out any words. Course it was a club and two people in one stall could only mean one thing. Fuck it.

I banged my fist on the stall wall. “If yer fuckin in there make some noise. I could use some help over here.” I grunted losing all self pride.

“Did you hear that Steven. Even he wants to hear you make some noise.” The deep chuckle came from the stall.

“Nn…put it in Kai.” The yearning voice that was a little higher pitched than the previous mans came to me.

“Yeah. You're so wet down there.” Kai grunted as the bathroom was suddenly full of moans.

Of course. Of fuckin course, it has to be two dudes. I was thinking of leaving, but the sounds of sex were the sounds of sex and being the sexual deviant I was I needed to get one off. I stopped thinking all together; letting the primitive sounds be the only thing I heard and went to whacking it. I closed my eyes biting on my lip as I felt myself getting closer.

“You almost there next door.” Steven groaned to me.

“Yeah.” I answered for some reason. My mind suddenly filled with the sent of gunpowder and the ocean breeze, of those critical eyes and frowning lips. I didn't question it, just went with it as I was so close to climax.

“Fuck.” I grunted grabbing a mess of toilet paper to catch my fresh batch of population yogurt. I panted stroking my settling cock a few more times getting out all I could. I leaned my head on the side of the stall letting the feeling spread through me.

Everything would go back to normal now. That was my problem. I just needed to get one off, I thought as I heard the two next to me orgasm as well. My mind slipped wondering if I could do that with Yuy, if it would be good, would I like it.

I shook my head standing up giving my soldiers a burial by sea before I took a leak as the booze traveled through me. I pulled up my pants in the mood for a lot more booze before the night was over. I flushed leaving my stall.

“Leaving already?” Steven breathlessly asked.

“Yeah.” I went to the sink washing my hands splashing some water on my face. I wiped it off going out the door.

“Have a good night Duo.” Kai chuckled.

“Yeah, thanks.” I wasn't even thinking as I left too focused on getting more alcohol. I made it back to the bar the bartender leaning by my drinks that were untouched.

“You alright?” He asked concerned.

“Yeah, way better now.” I nodded drinking a shot and nearly all my beer.

“That's good. That's real good Duo.” The bartender smirked at me.

I shook my head at him taking another shot. “Man, this is one fucked up place.”

“What makes you say that?”

I was at a loss of words, just grinning like an idiot as I shook my head in disbelief at the debauchery that was around every corner. Hell, even I wasn't free of it in my stall room escapade. I noticed people waiting to get served at the bar.

“Nothing at all, you got people waitin on ya.” I nodded to the side.

“You tryin to get rid of me eh?”

“Shit, I ain't goin nowhere till I finish this bottle.” I smirked at the half empty bottle of whiskey.

He gave a laugh doing his job while I went back to my thoughts that were starting to get clouded. I was finally beginning to catch a good enough buzz to affect my mind. This was the point I would go get a conquest, but I wasn't much in the mood at the moment. So I drank more instead.

The bartender returned to me brining me another beer and a shot. I raised my eyebrow at him.

“Guy at the end bought it for ya.” He pointed down. I leaned forward seeing said man raise his shot glass to me. Looked like I was going to get something even better out of this night.

“Really.” I instantly recognized the other in the dim light. He had some balls that was for sure. I grabbed the shot. “Watch my drinks yeah?”

“Sure.” The bartender grinned like he knew where this was heading.

I made my way to the opposite end of the bar. Seemed he figured I'd be heading that way. I stood in front of him shot in hand.

“No point doing it alone. You gonna buy me a shot seems we should do it together right Knight?”

“Didn't think you'd recognize me.” He grumbled back. It was taking all of me not to lay him out on the spot, but that was a bit to flashy.

“Aw come on Knight. Have a bit more faith man. How could I not recognize the guy banking off my life? I planned on laying your ass out right when I saw ya, but you saved yourself by buying me some booze. Good call.”

“Least I could do. It's odd that this is the first time we've actually met, but I feel like I know you pretty well.”

“You'd be surprised.” The smile I returned him was more akin to a grimace as I held the shot up. We tapped them together and took them down, me slamming mine on the bar upside letting out a long breath, I never liked tequila. It was a good drink for Knight cause I didn't like his ass either.

“So when are you going to give me a one on one interview Maxwell or do I need to buy you a few more shots first”

“Shit you can have that now.” Knight looked up at me.

I gave him a vicious smirk a moment before we were eye to eye, the breath running out of his mouth as his head fell on my shoulder. I could feel his organs shifting away from my fist that had just stopped in to say `ello to his stomach.

“Next time you call me Maxwell's Demon I'm gonna fuckin kill you. Quote that you motherfucker.” I murmured into his ear. I pulled back looking down at him like the scumbag he was. The shot he drank found its way back to the outside world causing me to step back from him not wanting any of that shit on my pants. Luckily I got out of the kill zone in time.

“Y-you bastard.” Knight grunted as he wiped his mouth looking up at me.

“Naw, I ain't a bastard. I'm just a selfish fuckin kid that likes to play games.” I snapped over my shoulder going back to my seat. I gave the bar a swift kick before I sat down brooding to myself. I was mad at Knight, or well I should be, but he wasn't what was eating at me. It was Yuy. He was stuck in my mind, his words rehashing from my lips.

The bartender was tending to Knight, while I fumed on Yuy's little speech to me. It didn't take long for the bouncers to flank Knight and drag him out, while a bar back had the joy of cleaning up Knights mess. I barely paid any mind to it. The booze was clouding my mind, but it wasn't clouding the right parts.

“Yer a cruel man Maxwell.” The bartender said smiling at me with even white teeth.

“Well you know what they say; when you grow up, your heart dies.” I said into the shot before taking it.

“Who the hell says that?”

“Maybe it's just me. Can I get another?” I said finishing my beer. “What's yer name, since you seem to know mine.”

“The name's Black.” He said straight faced. Oh I wanted to laugh. I brought my hand up to my face covering it giving a slight cough not meeting his eyes calming my initial reaction.

“Black?” I questioned when I gained control.

“Yeah, Black.” He leaned his head down catching my eyes. “I wouldn't laugh there buddy. Duo ain't much better.”

My will to laugh was curbed. He did have a point. “Good call. So Black, nother beer yeah?”

“You got it.” He said getting me another. He set it in front of me. “So whadya mean by that shit?”

“What shit?”

“Yer heart dies shit?”

“Eh, nn, I don't know man, just the booze talkin.”

“The booze make ya call yerself a selfish kid?”

“Naw, that's some other shit. Ain't nothin.”

“Yer pretty good at shruggin people off huh?”

“Only when they try to pry into shit that ain't there business.” I flashed Black a grin finally looking up from my beer.

“Ya know, ya gotta be pretty direct with me man, otherwise I just don't catch on.” Black smirked back.

“Ah, so ya mean I gotta say something like `stay the fuck outta my business for you to back off eh?”

“Yeah somethin like that.”

“Hm, ain't my style so how bout this.” I nodded to my left. “You got people waitin on ya.”

Black glanced at the glaring customers who needed drinks and shook his head at me. “Ya got me this time, but don't think I won't come back.”

Black was a pretty fun guy. I gave him a nod as he pardoned himself and went to work for a bit.

The bottle of whiskey was 3/4ths of the way gone and I had an ungodly amount of beer. I was realizing I was pretty damn wasted at the moment. Everything was mixing into each other making life all the more tolerable, my stirring thoughts slowed. Something snuck to the surface and my head tilted to the side. When I left the bathroom dude had said my name. How the hell did he know my name? Wait, wait, did he really call my name or was I just drunk? Oh, that was a good question that I was unable to answer so instead I laughed about it.

I picked up the bottle of whisky drinking straight from it to that kind of drunk. No one seemed to care as I drank myself into oblivion. I was to the point if I had been at O'Brien's one of the guys would have taken me home before I made an ass of myself. That's why I didn't want to go there. I needed this. To get completely and utterly unhealthily plastered and oh was I ever as I finished the bottle of whisky pushing it forward on the bar as I laid my head down, one hand still holding the bottle my mind not convinced it was truly empty.

“You all good there Duo? Shit leave ya alone for an hour and you get all shitty on me.”

“Ohhhh, I'm fuckin shi-tty alright and drunk too.” I slurring laughed.

“Oh yeah? What's got ya all shitty?”

I sat up giving a weaving glare to Black. “The hell makes you think somethin's got me all shitty.”

“The hell you talkin bout? I said yer doin great.” He smiled pushing me a shot of clear liquid. “It's on the house.”

“Yeah, I'm fuckin great.” I took the shot not even tasting it before my head fell back to the bar. My head shot up causing Black, who was going to walk away, to stop in his tracks and return to me. I probably would have found that odd any other time, but I was too drunk to notice.

“Somethin up?” He inquired.

“You like dudes er chicks?”

“You askin my sexual preference?”

“Yeah.”

He smiled. “Depends on my mood. Don't really let gender get in the way. If I like someone I like someone right?”

“Is it just that easy?”

“Thought you were a hetro Maxwell.” Black's grin widened.

“Yeah me too.” My head fell to the bar in defeat.

“Aw man, didn't mean to hurt yer feelings.”

“They ain't mine.” I grunted into the bar.

“Whoa man, sounds like yer in some complicated shit.”

I heaved a sigh in reply.

“Why don't ya tell me what happened, maybe we can figure all this shit out fer ya.” Black said with persuasion, not that it was exactly hard to persuade me to do anything in the drunken stupor I'd reached.

I raised my head looking to Black noticing his face was getting distorted. Oh I was way to drunk. I rubbed my eyes trying to fix the picture, which didn't work. Fuck it, I thought, I just needed to drink some more and it'd all work out. So drink I did spilling the interaction between Yuy and I to Black drunk enough I didn't even change names. Though I did leave out most the details of why he was at my place and the whole me working for the Preventer's thing.

“Hold on a fuckin second here, Yuy's…”

“Seems that way. You don't kiss another dude on the mouth unless yer bout kissin dudes.”

“Damn, I'd like to roll round with that.” I was back to giving a weaving glare at Black who was not helping the situation. “Shit, I'm just sayin man, but onto yer problem here. So what's the fuckin problem? Seems to me yer makin somethin out of nothin. So Yuy's gay. Big fuckin deal.”

“That ain'the problem. I don't give a shit bout that.” I wiped at my forehead. I was sweating profusely and feeling way overheated. My mouth felt parched as well. “Eh, get me another beer.”

“Then what's the problem Duo?” Something wasn't right. Even as drunk as I was instinct was screaming at me and my instinct was rarely wrong.

“That he…” My eyes were burning and my head was spinning, it wasn't the fun booze spin nor the vomiting booze spin. I didn't know what it was. My entire being was faltering, weakness taking hold of everything. “Water. I need some water.”

“Sure I'll get ya some water. Just close your eyes and tell me what's on yer mind. It'll feel like yer just goin to sleep.”

At his words I felt the heaviness in my lids. I had to keep them open. I couldn't say why, I just had to stay conscious. My will wasn't enough so I went with movement. Bad plan, my motor skills had long since left me. No sooner did I attempt to slip off the bar stool then I lost my balance.

I didn't hit the floor, not as though I would have noticed had I. Instead I was caught, my vision left me, something thick and black being put over my head. Why couldn't my instincts be wrong for once?

“See ya still blindly trustin people, ya really need to kick that habit kid. Ain't complainin though, saved me a lotta trouble. I've been waitin a long time for this, to bad you ain't gonna remember it.” The words distorted in my fading mind. I heard them, but I couldn't understand them. I wasn't understanding anything, reality ditching me in that vast emptiness with no way to plausibly get back making me have to sit and wait for the bastard to come back for me.
