A/N: wow, this is the longest I've ever worked on a story before. Sorry for the wait. With writer's block, my seventeenth birthday, margaritas (drools), Easter, did I mention writer's block?, in the way it took me a while to update. Not to mention coming up with ideas for this.

Chapter 17: SHHHH! It's A Surprise Part 3

Wufei was the first to break the intense lip lock. His mind swam laps as he stared into the other man's face. "What do you want from me?" He whispered.

Trieze only smiled and placed a hand on the china man's narrow chest. "This" He answered confidently.

Wufei shuddered and pressed into the strong appendage. "And if I am unable to give you that?"

The man only smiled more. "I am willing to wait as long as needed until you are ready."

Wufei sighed heavily. He couldn't help but feel wary. Kordairo had said the almost exact same thing. Of course his ex was talking about getting his heart. He pulled from the taller man's arms. "We should go see if Duo is ready."

Trieze took the hint and walked silently towards their companions.

Duo was sitting quietly on the hood of his beloved Mustang. His lips were swollen and he had an obvious hickey on the side of his neck. Despite his appearance, he was completely at ease.

"Oi, Wufei!" The tranquility of the American's face disappeared and was replaced with a grin. He bounced off the car and sidled beside his friend. "Took you long enough."

Wufei stammered indignantly. "I could say the same thing about you, Maxwell." He finally countered. Duo only grinned sheepishly.

"Well--er--let's go. I have things to take care of."

To Wufei's great distress, Heero decided to ride with Duo. That left Trieze driving 'Wing'. Not wanting to intrude on anything, he opted to ride with the taller man.

The ride was tedious to begin with. Neither man spared a glance at the other or attempted to start a conversation.

Duo and Heero made it to Duo's apartment before the other two. They quickly unloaded 'Shinigami' and retreated there. When Wufei and Trieze reached the building, the slighter man was surprised to find that Duo had locked his door.

He shrugged it off and reluctantly asked Trieze if he wanted to wait for Heero in his apartment. Trieze hesitated but accepted the offer.

Duo grinned madly as the footsteps receded. "All clear." The Japanese man gave a curt nod and began pulling out the necessary items for their mission.

"Will it be safe to leave the cake in your refrigerator?"

Duo nodded enthusiastically. "It's not like I actually cook often. I bet Wufei doesn't even know that I can." He chuckled lightly. "I'm sure Trieze can keep him busy"

Heero hid a knowing smirk.

A/N: So technically Heero is the brains of the operations going on. He's planning a surprise for Duo and Wufei, maybe Trieze too. Cleaver isn't he ^_^. Anyway. The next chap will be post just after this one. I have to make up for the time I lost. *writes like there is not tomorrow*
