Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Giri? Ninjo. Koibito! ❯ Chapter 2
After a few minutes Duo was still ranting loudly. "I am not dressing up as a girl!"
"It's because of your hair," I stated bluntly. His voice dropped away abruptly, and he stared at me open mouthed.
"My hair?" he repeated.
"Aa. Japanese schools are strict about dress code. Long hair on boys is not permitted. They would make you have a haircut." I folded my fingers into the palm of my hand, unfolded them, folded them again.
"I see," he said, and left the room. I guessed he had to think it over for a while. I didn't see what there was to think about though. An order is an order. It does not need to be questioned, only performed in the most efficient manner. Duo always thought things over, as if he had a choice in what missions he would accept. I shook my head. Still … I was glad it was not me that had to dress up as a girl. I couldn't help smirking a little.
We checked into the school separately, of course, so it was days before I actually saw Duo there. Without that loudmouth baka shadowing me, I fell back into my old routine of solitude and silence. I went to class, I ate, and I slept. No one noticed me, which was exactly the way that I wanted it. My first class was chemistry. I took my seat and started looking over the materials on the laptop that had been assigned to me. I hated using the school's slow machine, but it was not allowed to bring your own laptop; the school supplied equipment for its classes.
I slouched in my seat, trying to be unobtrusive. Nonetheless, I felt like everyone was staring at me. I looked up. There were a few guys staring at me, hard. I started to tense up, then one craned his neck and I realized that they were staring at someone in front of me. I looked. There was a girl that I had not seen before standing next to the teacher. A new student? She was greeting the class rep, her back to me.
I had to admit, I could see why they were staring. She had very nice legs, and her hair was almost longer than the skirt that she wore. The teacher saw me looking and addressed me. "Mr. Lowe."
"Hai, sempai?"
"As you are currently the only student without a lab partner, please team up with our new student." The girl had finished talking with the class rep, and turned at the teacher's words. My eyes traveled up her legs and slender frame to find a delicate heart-shaped face and wide - amethyst - eyes.
"Odin Lowe, meet Helen Maxwell. Ms. Maxwell, please take your seat here."
"Ha~i," she answered, flashing me a winning smile.
I could feel my face heating up with an uncontrollable blush. I had just been checking out Duo! But then again … so had the other boys in the class. Duo made a completely convincing girl. I was tempted to take another look. After all, I had to make sure that the disguise wasn't flawed in any way.
I turned my scrutiny to the slender figure beside me, taking in every detail. The polished black Mary Jane shoes. The smooth, shapely legs. The fuku school uniform: short skirt, pressed shirt, and neck tie. The impossibly long and silky-looking hair, the color of roasted chestnuts, cascading down her back. It was perfect. I felt like I had never seen this person before.
As I watched, one delicate hand wandered to the hem of the skirt and tugged gently, discretely trying to bring it down lower over the thigh.
Perfect, my mind repeated.
