I returned to the day care center just before noon. That was a big mistake. All the children seemed to have remembered who I was.

"Hello Wuffie!" chorused the children.

Dammit! Does Maxwell train these children or something?

I chose to ignore the `Wuffie' part of their greeting and continued to the kitchen.

"Wufei have some manners and say hello back to the children." Said Heero coming out of nowhere. He was holding the child I saw yesterday. Except this time the child was awake. I looked at the child and there was no mistaking it. Her eyes. There were violet like Maxwell's with a hint of cool, crisp cobalt blue. I looked at her hair that shone in the sunlight. It was the most unique combination of chestnut brown with streaks of copper, dark brown and black. A thousand questions swam through my mind. I don't think that a week of full on meditation exercises would have been able to clear my head. Yuy must have sensed my confusion.

"Later." He said "But first, say hello to the children."

"Hello." I said quickly before heading to the kitchen for a glass of water and some aspirin. It was just so convenient for Maxwell to be in the kitchen at that time.

"What are you in here for? Aren't you supposed to looking after the children?" I asked after I gulping the water down.

"Hee-chan is looking after them. I'm making lunch."

"Maxwell, you know the food you make is inedible. You're going to make the children sick or food poiso-" I paused and rewound the conversation in my head.

"Did you just call Heero Hee-chan?"

"Yea."

"He doesn't mind?"

"Nup!"

"I need some time alone to think." I went upstairs to my room and flopped on my bed. There were too many questions to ask. There was too much I didn't know.

I found my answers later that night when Yuy called me downstairs for a `talk'.

"Where do you want to start?" asked Maxwell as he braided the little girl's hair.

"From the beginning. I want to know everything. And you'd better explain everything to me or else I shall call it injustice and-"

Heero put a finger to his lips motioning me to keep my voice down.

"There is a child here you know?" he said.

"Yes I know that. I also want to know why she's here."

"Hee-chan just tell him. Besides I like listening to this story. Its almost like a fairytale to me." Said Maxwell.

"When us five split up Duo and I already knew that we were in love, just that we didn't have the guts to tell each other because we thought we weren't good enough for each other. Duo went with Hilde to help with her scrapyard business while I was a bodyguard for Relena (1). Things didn't work out very well for me. I missed having Duo around me all the time so I finally rang him and told him everything. I was risking everything, even our so-called friendship for a chance at love. I was completely overjoyed when he told me that he missed me too. That Hilde was like an older sister to him."

"Hee-chan had tears in his eyes when I told him I loved him. Didn't ya Hee-chan?"

Heero blushed.

"So what happened then?" I asked in anticipation.

"Hee-chan and I came to earth and we lived together. After a while Heero proposed. I was-"

"YUY PROPOSED?!" I exploded. I couldn't believe my ears.

"Yes. Duo said he couldn't handle commitment yet. We're engaged. We'll get married when Duo feels he is ready."

"How come I wasn't contacted or informed?" My head was pounding. Maybe I wasn't ready to hear so much just yet.

"We told everyone." Said Maxwell, his head was now resting on Yuy's shoulder. The little girl was asleep in Maxwell's lap.

"We mailed, we rang everyone twice. We couldn't contact you. Preventers told us you were on a mission both times we rang. We just assumed that you would know by mail.

I stopped and thought about it. All this information made sense. It cleared up everything about their relationship.

"What happened then?"

"I wanted to move onto the next level." Said Duo cheerfully.

"But the next level is-"

"To have a child." Finished Heero. "Men can't have children and adoption centers don't let just anyone adopt a child. It was Duo's idea to run a day care center. Then we could look after all the children we want and treat them as our own."

Duo nodded in agreement. "Fourth best decision I've ever made."

"Whats the third?"

"Choosing to fight in the war for the colonies."

"Whats the second?"

"Getting hitched to Hee-chan." Surprisingly Yuy didn't grumble about being second place. I had to be extremely cautious now so I hesitated.

"Whats the first?"

"Having Priscilla."

"Having who?"

"Priscilla Duetta Maxwell-Yuy." Said Maxwell gesturing towards the sleeping child.

"She's beautiful."

"That's what her name means." (2)

"Wait a minute." I paused. "Men can't give birth to children. You said so yourself."

"Yeah we know." Sighed Duo.

"But how did you…you know?"

"Test tube babies, like Quatre's sisters. Hilde was kind enough or actually more than willing to give us one of hers when she knew that I wanted a kid." Maxwell laughed, like it was supposed to be funny or something.

That explanation cleared up a lot. That's why Yuy always held the child so close to him. It was his child. His and Maxwell's.

"How did you come up Priscilla?" I asked now that everything was cleared. "Its Latin, a European language that died several hundred years ago.

"Trowa came up with it. We thought it was the perfect name." Answered Heero.

"Anymore questions?"

Duo yawned. "I'm going to bed. Goodnight guys." He picked up his sleeping daughter and carried her upstairs.

"No I don't think so. I think everything is clear to me now."

"Have you found a job yet?"

"You're always welcome to stay and help out around here you know."

I smiled for the first time that day.

"I would love to stay and help you once you get this place steam cleaned." I said and laughed at my little joke. As if I would ever do women's work in the first place.

(1) Check the end of endless waltz

(2) Latin: Beautiful
