Gundam Wing: Next - Surprise Attack

The phone started to ring. Yume answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is Reina there?"

"Who?"
"Reina."

"Hang on." Yume said as she put the phone down.

Yume walked over to Kirin.

"Which one of us is Reina?" Yume asked in a whisper.

"That would be Shin."

"Okay."

Yume picked the phone back up and spoke. "She's in the shower right now. Would you like me to take a message?"

"Oh, just tell her Duo called."
"Will do."

"Thanks." With that, Duo hung up.

"Who was that?" Shin asked as she came out of her room.

"It was Duo." Yume said.

"Why didn't you keep him on the phone?"

"You were in the shower. I didn't know when you were getting out."

"What did he say?"
"He just said to tell you he called."

"Great, I don't have his phone number."

"Call information." Kirin said.

"Remember what I told you before? He lives on L2, not here."

The phone suddenly rang again. Shin ran to get it.

"Hello?"
"Hey! You're out of the shower."
"Yeah."

"I forgot that I never gave you my phone number so I had to call again."
"Yeah, my friend just told me that you called."

"Well, I called to see if you wanted to go clubbing tonight."

"Sure. Just us or can I bring my friends?"
"You can bring your friends. I'll see if I can bring mine."
"Great! I'll let them know. What club are we going to be going to?"
"You know the club on 2nd street?"

"Yeah, I think I've seen it."

"I've got a friend who works there. We'll meet you there at eight o' clock."

"Okay, see ya later."
"See ya! Love you."
"Love you, too." Shin said before hanging up.

"Aw, how…sickening." Yume said.

"Shut up." Shin said.

"So, what was that all about?" Kirin asked.

"Duo asked me if I wanted to clubbing with him. He's going to see if his friends are willing to go with him and I was wondering if you guys would go with me."

"Well, I'll go with you, especially if Heero's going to be there. Then I won't have such a hard time tracking him down." Kirin said.

"Heero's going to be there? Count me in." Yume stated.

"He might be there, Yume. Duo's only going to see if he can get them to go with him."

"Good enough for me."

"You know what this means, don't you?" Shin asked her friends.

"What?" Kirin said.

"Time for some shopping."

"Remember, my name is Reina around these guys."

"And my name is Hana."

"What about me?" Yume asked.

"Think of something before they get here." Kirin said.

"Too late. They're here." Shin said.

"Hey, Reina! Over here!" Duo shouted.

"Think of something quick." Shin whispered to Yume as the three of them walked over to the guys.

"Hey, Duo." Shin said before kissing him quickly.

"You look really good." Duo said.

"Thank you." Shin was wearing a short black leather skirt, a shiny light blue backless shirt that tied at the neck and back, and knee high black leather boots. To finish off the ensemble, Shin wore her silver cross. Her hair was up in a high ponytail.

"So, you gonna introduce me to your friends?"

"Oh, yeah." Shin said as she moved aside for the others.

"I'm Hana Yashiro. It's nice to meet you." Kirin shook Duo's hand.

"My name's Zoey Metallium. Yeah." Yume said as she shook Duo's hand.

"It's nice to meet you too." Duo stepped aside to introduce his friends.

"I know Reina's met Quatre and Trowa, but just to make sure ever one knows."

Quatre stepped forward and spoke. "Hi, I'm Quatre Raberba Winner."

"Hello. I'm Trowa Barton."

"I am Chang Wufei."

"Heero Yuy."

"And of course, you all know me. Duo Maxwell."

Shin giggle at the braided one.

"What's so funny?" Duo asked.

"Nothing. You're just so cute." Shin said as she took Duo's arm.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah."

The eight entered the club and ordered drinks before sitting down at a table.

"This is a pretty nice club." Shin said.

"Yeah. I always come here when I'm visiting Quatre."

"Really? So, you don't live here?"
"Nah, I still live on that L2 colony."

"The one from your childhood? Isn't it sad for you there?"
"No, not really. I try not to think about what happened too much."

"I think about what happened all the time."

The drinks finally arrived at the table but Shin was dragged onto the dance floor before she could even take one sip of her drink.

"Let's dance."

"Okay."

A new song started playing just as the two made their way to the floor. Shin and Duo were perfect together. There was no beat they missed, no move they didn't dare to do. It almost seemed like they were having sex on the dance floor. Each song's end turned into another song's beginning. When Duo and Shin were done dancing, they looked deep into each other's eyes. They were breathing heavily and sweating. They were so close to each other that they were almost kissing.

Shin and Duo decided to sit back down with the rest of the group.

"You guys are really great dancers." Quatre commented.

"Thanks, Quat." Duo said.

"I think you guys are weird." Yume said.

"Why?"

"That's just the way she thinks." Shin said.

"Yeah. I'm not really into romance and all that stuff." Yume said.

"Well, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a few." Shin said.

"Okay. We'll be here." Duo said.

Shin got up from the table and walked over to the bathroom.

A figure in the shadows watched a large group of people. He noticed one of the girls get up from the table and head over to the bathroom and made his was in the same direction. Once the girl was out of the bathroom, he approached her from behind, placing his hand over her mouth.

"If you scream, I'll kill you. Understand?" He whispered into her ear.

She nodded her head before he took his hand away and pushing her into a back room.

"What do you want with me?" She asked.

"You know what I want, Shin." He said as he turned Shin around.

"Alan!"

"Shocked to see me? You should be. You three should have been back by now. Lee sent us to come get you but I couldn't wait until you got home."

"So you decided to attack me when I come out of the bathroom in a club?"

"I know. It's not me, but I just had to get you back. I saw you dancing with that guy."

"That guy is my boyfriend."
"Does he know who you really are?"
There was a moment of silence.

"Well, no. But he was the boy I met when I was on L2 before I came to ONI."

"Are you still not over that whole thing? You can't even be honest with him. At least I know who you truly are."

"Alan, you just want to fuck me and then you'll have nothing to do with me."

"How could you say that?"

"Because I know you. I've known you since before ONI."

"You still haven't forgiven me for what happened, have you?"

"No, I haven't. What you did was traitorous."

"I didn't kill him."
"No, but you stood there and watched. You could have tried to stop it."

"There was no way I could have done that. I was just a kid."

"My family was killed in that invasion too."

"My father was a leader. If he wasn't killed, your parents would still be here too and we wouldn't be in all of this mess. Our lives wouldn't be this hell."

"Things happen for a reason, Shin."
"Oh shut up. Don't even start with me." Shin said as she started to leave the room.

"Where do you think you're going?" Alan said as he pulled her back in and kissed her.

Shin pushed Alan away. "What they hell do you think you're doing?"

"I love you."

"You don't love me, you just want to get into my pants."

"Sure, I want to have sex with you, but only because I fell in love with you over the years."

"I don't think I can believe that, Alan."

"Fine. If you won't let me love you, I'll have to give you love by force."

Alan kissed Shin hard and made sure his grip was tight enough so she couldn't get away from him.

"Hey, how long do girls take in the bathroom?" Duo asked.

"Well, it depends. It usually doesn't take that long." Kirin said.

"Reina should have been back by now."

"Hey, you're right. She's been in the bathroom way too long. I'll go see if she's okay." Kirin said.

"I'll go with you." Yume said.

Kirin and Yume went to the bathroom.

"Shin? Are you in here?" Yume asked.

There was no answer.

"I think I might know what happened to her." Kirin said.

"You think he's here?"

"Yeah. Let's go look for them."

"Roger."

Kirin and Yume searched for Shin.

Shin tried to push Alan away, but his hold was too strong. Alan only stopped kissing her in order to breath.

"You know, everyone is going to start worrying about me. I should have been back from the bathroom by now." Shin said.

"Those guys don't care about you." Alan said.

"Even if they don't, Kirin and Yume will start looking for me."

"They don't care about you either."
"That's not true. I'm sure they're looking for me right now."

"HA!"

`Maybe they don't care about me. They would probably have been here by now if they did.' Shin thought.

Alan saw the look on the girl's face and knew his plan was working.

`Maybe what they say to is just words to make me feel better. Maybe what they say is just a bunch of lies.'

Alan started kissing Shin on the neck. When she didn't struggle, he knew his plan had worked. She believed that no one cared about her.

"I'm all alone. No one cares about me." Shin said.

"I care about you, Shin." Alan said. "You're not alone as long as I'm here."

Alan continued to kiss Shin, then moved on to groping. He started to take her clothes off when something happened suddenly.

"Wait. I can't do this with you." Shin said.

"Why not? I love you." Alan said.

"I can't do this because I don't love you. I love Duo."

"But he doesn't love you. It's just words."
"No. He does love me. He's loved me ever since L2."

"That's a lie, Shin. He's just saying that to get to you." Alan was starting to sound frustrated.

"He does love me. And I love him."
"No. I will have what I want from you, Shin."

Alan ripped off the rest of Shin clothes and started kissing her fiercely. Shin bit Alan's bottom lip.

"Ow! You bitch!" Alan checked for blood, which he found. He slapped her across the face. "You bit me."

"I'm just trying to delay until my friends get here."
"I already told you, they aren't coming."

Alan forced himself on top of Shin and started grinding his hips against hers.

Shin tried hard not to make any sounds, that's what Alan wanted. He wanted her to scream, to make any noise. Alan stopped grinding his hips and stood up.

"Fine. If you won't scream in pleasure, then I know you'll scream in pain."

Shin's eyes reflected horror as she heard Alan's words and saw him draw a knife out of his pocket.

Alan placed the cool blade against Shin's pale skin.

"You're scared. Good."

"You're a bastard, Alan."
"I know." Alan said before he cut into Shin's right arm.

Shin tried hard not to scream, then Alan stopped. Shin could feel the warmth of her own blood flow down her arm. Alan placed the blade at Shin's chest, just above her breasts and started cutting his initials into her flesh. Shin couldn't help but scream this time. The pain was just too much. Alan stopped after he carved AP into the left side of Shin's chest.

"There, now I'll always be close to your heart, Shin."

Shin tried to give him the best glare she could while she had tears in her eyes.

Heero watched the two girls as they left to go check on their friend. He noticed that they went into the bathroom, came out, then went into another door instead of coming back. And another thing he noticed, they didn't have their friend with them.

"Hey, what's wrong, Heero?" Duo asked.

"Hana and Zoey just went into another door after they came out of the bathroom. They didn't have Reina with them." Heero said in his usual tone.

"You think we should go after them?" Quatre asked.

Heero nodded. "I think we should at least see what they're up to."

"What if it's a secret?" Quatre said.

"Some secrets can be bad. What if they're spies and they're on a secret mission and they're after us?" Duo said.

"Oh, come on Duo. Get real."

"No, Maxwell's right for a change." Wufei entered the conversation.

"Really? You think I'm right?" Duo said.
"Yes, but that's not the point here."

"We should go after them." Trowa finally spoke.

"All right. Let's go after the girls and see what they're up to."
The five got up from their table, paid the bill, and followed the girls.

"Do you think we're going to find Shin in the maze?" Yume asked.

"Shh. I think someone's following us." Kirin whispered.

Yume was quiet instantly. Kirin motioned for them to hind behind a corner.

"I'll take front." Yume whispered as she pulled out her gun and held it up in a ready position.

Yume could sense someone on the other side of the corner and could tell they were about to make a move. She moved away from the corner and pointed her gun at her target.

"Heero?" Yume said.

"What are you doing sneaking around the club?" Heero asked.

"What are you doing following us?"

"I asked you first."

"We're looking for Reina." Kirin said.

"Why? Where did she go?" Duo asked, very concerned.

"We believe she's been kidnapped."
"Kidnapped? That's horrible." Quatre said.

"No kidding. The one who kidnapped her is dangerous and we don't know what he'll do to her."

"Um, Heero. Can you put your gun away now?" Yume asked.

"Only if you put yours away." Heero said.

"Deal." Yume put her gun back into its harness as Heero put his back.

"So, why were you following us?" Kirin asked.

"We're just wondering what you're up to." Duo said.

"Duo." Heero said.

"What?"

Heero rolled his eyes. The American just didn't know when to shut up.

"Let me ask you both something." Heero said. "What are you doing here anyway?"

Kirin and Yume didn't know how to answer the question.

Kirin sighed. "We're not really who you think we are."

"You can't tell them." Yume said.

"Right now, we have no chose. They aren't going to trust us if we don't tell them the truth about us."

"But you know what'll happen if we tell anyone who we really are."

"I know. And I'm willing to risk it."

Yume sighed. "All right."
"Who are you then?" Heero asked.

"My name is really Kirin Rei Shido and this is Yume Okanowa. We're part of an organization called ONI. We're here to track down the five former gundam pilots and get as much information on you as possible."

"Why are you tracking us and getting information about us?"

"My uncle, the leader of ONI, wants to kill you so that you won't get in the way of his plan."

"What is his plan?"
"I don't know. He never told us."

"So, Reina's not who she says she is…Is she?" Duo asked.

"She told me about you, Duo. She is the same girl you met on L2, but her name isn't Reina. Her real name is Shin Kaze Kinyoubi." Kirin said.

Suddenly, they all heard screams coming from around another corner.

"Shin!" Kirin shouted.

Everyone started to run toward the screams. They all came to a door at the end of a hallway. Kirin took out her gun.

"Stand back." Kirin said before kicking in the door.

Kirin saw the man who she thought had kidnapped her friend and just shot him in the shoulder out of blind rage.

"Yume, get Shin."

"Gotcha." Yume ran over to Shin who was disoriented from blood loss.

"Here, put this on her." Trowa said as he handed Yume his trench coat.

"Thanks." Yume wrapped the coat around Shin and let Trowa carry her.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Alan shouted.

"I can't believe you. Why the hell did you do this?"

"Because I love her."
"Bull shit, Alan." Kirin shot him again, this time in the leg.

Alan fell to the ground and shouted in pain. Kirin shot his other leg just to make sure he couldn't get up.

"If you ever come near any of us again, I will not hesitate to kill you." Kirin said.

"You bitch." Alan said.

Kirin shot Alan one more time in his other shoulder before leaving.

"Is she okay?" Duo asked.

"I hope so. She's lost a lot of blood." Yume said.

"We have to get Shin to a hospital." Kirin said. "Now."

The group made their way back to the main part of the club and then out the door. Everyone in the club was wondering what had happened. Trowa took Shin to the car.

"Duo, get in the back. I'll hand Shin to you. Quatre should come too since he knows where the hospital is."
"We'll take Shin's car and follow you." Kirin said.

"Your friend is going to be fine. She has lost a lot of blood, but that's nothing we can't fix." The doctor said.

"Can we see her?" Kirin asked.

"Yes, but only one or two of you at a time."

"I think we should go in two at a time and let Duo go in last. Who wants to go in with me?" Kirin said.

"I will." Heero stated.

"Okay."

Kirin and Heero entered the hospital room, but Shin was sleeping. Yume and Wufei went in next, followed by Trowa and Quatre. Duo was the last one to see Shin. Duo sat down in a chair next to the hospital bed. He took Shin's hand in his and just sat there, looking at her.

"How could someone do this to you? Why would someone do this?"

"Duo?"

"Yeah. It's me."

"There's something I have to tell you."

"If you're going to tell me who you really are, you don't have to."

"What? How'd you find out?"
"Kirin told us who you three are and where you came from."

"Well, at least she can't get mad at me for spilling."

"Why did that guy try to kill you?"

"I don't think he tried to kill me. He just wanted to hurt me. He thinks he's in love with me."

"Do you love him?"
"No. You know I love you."

"But you lied to me about yourself."

"You understand why I had to, don't you?"

"Yeah. I used to be a gundam pilot, ya know."

"Yeah. I know what you mean. We should actually go and get our gundams."

"Wait. You're gundam pilots too?"
"Kirin didn't tell you?"
"No."

"Shit. Now she has something to get mad at me about."
