How they Formed Chapter 1: Finding a Job
It was a typical day, and Duo Maxwell was still bummed out about finding a damn job, and the little money he had. He was all by himself on colony L2. Well, not completely alone. He had his friend Heero Yuy, but they didn't really talk to one another much, unless it was good news.
"Man, and I thought we'd at least find something here. Now it looks like we're going to become bums of this place," he muttered to himself, and walked on with his groceries. Not paying attention, he accidentally bumped into a Chinese boy wearing glasses and carrying a lot of books.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention! Are you okay," the braded boy immediately asked, trying to help the other boy. He was glared at by two black colored eyes, and received the rude response of, "I'm fine, but you should stop daydreaming while walking."
Usually a nice person, Duo had to restrain himself slightly from saying something back while the boy walked away, but noticed that he had forgotten a piece of paper. Picking it up curiously, Duo quickly read what was on it, and hurried back to the hotel room he was sharing with his friend.
[Within another hotel room, not the one Duo and Heero are staying in.]
/I guess I forgot that paper when I bumped into that braded idiot, / Wufei thought to himself. Cleaning his glasses neatly, he decided to organize a few things that he would use for tomorrow's work. It didn't matter that he lost the paper, because he practically memorized all that it had said.
"Others like that idiot that bumped into me might try and attempt to solve this mystery too, but with me on the case, they won't stand a chance," he said to himself confidently.
[Within an expensive mansion.]
"I don't need you taking care of me all the time dad," Quatre exclaimed. His father sighed, but soon answered, "It's not that I think you're still a baby and can't take care of yourself, it's just…you're not that smart son."
"Just because I have blonde hair, wear a purple vest and pink shirt, doesn't make me gay or dumb daddy! Besides I already got a job opened up for me," the blonde boy argued back.
"Oh, and what job would this be," his dad now asked curious.
"It's a mystery case, and the reward is fifty-thousand dollars," Quatre said proudly, and waited for his father to say something.
"Fine, if you succeed and solve this case, I'll let you live on your own. But until then, Rashid will still look after you like a stalker. Now go," his father commanded, and he watched his only son walk out of the room.
"I fear his blonde intelligence will get him in trouble," he then muttered to himself, and wished his son could have been a brunette.
[Within a circus. Give you three guesses as to who this is.]
"Why are you going? Aren't you happy in the circus," Cathy asked her taller (sexier) brother. After their performance that night, she saw her brother reading a piece of paper off one of the poles they had, and wished he hadn't had found it.
"Because Cathy, I'm tired of these girls constantly visiting and trying to molest me! If I solve this case I'll have enough money to get us a stable home, and we can leave this place and it's freaks," Trowa Barton explained.
"Still, it sounds dangerous," his sister persisted.
"Cathy, I'm old and strong enough to defend myself. I'll be just fine. You just worry about yourself, and all those drunk men," the green-eyed boy said, giving his sister a last hug before walking off into the night.
[Back to Duo.]
"Heero! I think I found a job for the both of us," he yelled towards his friend.
"What type of job," was his reply, but he could hear a hint of happiness. The last job they had though was bad. Cleaning bathrooms is exactly as they say, shitty.
"Look, read this paper out loud and see," the braded boy explained, and handed his friend the piece of paper he got.
"Looking for excitement? Looking for adventure? Looking for a job? Then come and solve the mystery of the longhaired thief. The reward is $50,000 to the person, or persons who solve the case first. Those who wish to attempt to solve it must meet on colony L2 within the main park by the largest fountain at 12:00 p.m. Saturday August the 5," he read, and soon realized what made his friend so excited.
"Duo, you do realize this will take a lot of work and skill from us both," he asked carefully looking towards his friend.
"Yeah so? We'll get paid a shit load of money if we solve the case! I'm not that lazy if that's what you think," Duo answered back.
"It's not that Duo, but others will probably be there to try and solve the case. We'll have to fight long and hard through this in order to get the money. I'm not sure we can pull it off by ourselves," Heero said downing the situation.
"Hey! That's not the Heero I know! Weren't you the one who always pulled through, no matter how hard the job or mission? Then why should a little competition stop you? Us? We can do this I know we can," Duo said being positive.
"Now lets go to the park tomorrow, solve the case before everyone else, and get all the reward for ourselves! Are you with me," the braded boy said, his cobalt blue eyes sparkling.
"Yes, I'm with you," Heero said, smiling slightly. He always fell for those sparkling eyes.
