Ice and the Devil, Part 1
"I hate you," she hissed as she glared up at him.
"You've been saying those words since you learned how to speak," he replied as he tugged on her blond ponytail.
"And I mean every word of them," she snapped as she yanked her hair out of his grasp. "You're the devil incarnate."
"Well, when you're the son of Death, one might think that, ice princess," Chris Maxwell said as he rolled his eyes.
Victoria stomped her foot angrily. "I told you not to call me that!" she said furiously.
"But you are. You're as cold as the ice in Antarctica, except when you're fighting with me, and then you get as hot as the sands in Arabia during the summer. But I tend to think I just make you hot and it makes you mad as a hornet. Especially when I kiss you," he smirked as he tugged on her hair again.
She felt color flood her face as she saw his smirk. She dug her nails into her palms. "You're deluding yourself. I wouldn't get hot for you if you paid me a billion credits. And I hate it when you kissed me," she snorted. "You're not even my type," she said loftily as she stuck her nose up in the air.
Chris smirk turned wicked. "But what makes you think you're even my type?" he asked as he leaned down to her level. He stared into her Prussian blue eyes. "I just might be kissing you because you're the next available woman."
Victoria sucked in her breath at his insult. Her eyes narrowed as she gave his braid a sharp yank. "Jackass," she hissed as she turned on her heel.
He watched her walking away with his eyes watering. That yank had hurt. He went after her in a few long strides and caught her in his arms. He carried her kicking and screaming as he dumped her into the pool. "Remember what I did to you a few weeks ago. I could always sabotage your room again," he said before he walked over to the picnic table. His youngest brother and sister were looking at him. "What?"
"You know what," said David with a grin. "Do you have a death wish or something?" he asked.
Chris shrugged. "Maybe. I like a little danger," he replied as he sat down.
"That's BS and you know it," said Randy as she pointed her knife at him. "She's just the only woman that hasn't fallen prey to the legendary Maxwell charm and it grates on you," she said pointedly.
"Not everyone falls for it. Certainly not any of the girls that I grew up with," Chris said as he looked over his shoulder at the other daughters of the other former Gundam pilots. "They know me too well," he said as he took a bite out of his corn on the cob.
"True, but it hasn't stopped you from flirting with all of them," Randy pointed out.
"The Maxwell charm has its uses," Chris said knowingly as his eyes focused their attention on the deck where the adults were. He saw his mother lean over the railing, checking on them like a mother was wont to do. He saw his dad come up behind her and put his arms around her waist. He couldn't make out what was being said, but his mother's expression turned indignant before his dad leaned closer to her and kissed her. "See," he said.
Randy and David rolled their eyes. They were used to seeing their parent's displays of affection. It happened quite often.

Victoria had come to the surface sputtering. She was seething now. She was insulted and mad. She pushed her wet hair out of her eyes and honed in on Chris. "You're so dead, Maxwell," she said as she climbed out of the pool.
Chris looked over his shoulder and saw her climbing out of the pool. He had to admit she was one of the sexiest, most beautiful women that he had ever clapped eyes on. Her sapphire blue bikini brought out her eyes and showed off her small curvy figure. He smirked as she made her way towards him. He turned around and leaned against the table. "Did you want something, babe?" he asked trying not to laugh.
She was so angry she could hardly speak. So instead she reached behind him and poured the pitcher of ice water on his head. "Baka," she ground out between clenched teeth. She wanted to strangle him, but at the same time, she found herself wanting to kiss him soundly.
His eyes went wide as icy water dripped off the end of his nose. She was walking away from him with her head held high. He could hear his brother and sister laughing behind him. "So she wants to play, I'm always game," he said as he got up and started following her. He reached her in a few long strides and grabbed her around her waist. "And where do you think you're going?" he asked as he picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" Victoria shrieked as she pounded on his back with her fists.
By this time, all the kids had turned their attention to what was going on. They watched avidly as Chris carried a yelling Victoria.
Chris spotted an empty cooler, still filled with melting ice. He could feel every thump of her fists as he walked over to it. "You asked for it," he said as he dropped her into the cooler.
She let out a scream as she hit the ice. Ice cubes sloshed over her breasts. She glared up at Chris, who was grinning broadly. She grabbed his braid and yanked on it rather hard. "You jackass!"
The others burst into gales of laughter.
He winced as she yanked on his hair. He couldn't get her to let go. Her fingers had a tight grasp on it. "Let go, ice princess!"
"Right, cold day in hell!" Victoria snapped as she struggled to get out of the cooler, using Chris's braid as leverage. Ice slid down her legs as she looked up at him.
Pain shot up his scalp. Chris grasped her wrists and began prying her fingers off. Every tug felt like she was ripping hair from his scalp. "Bitch, let go!" he growled as his grip tightened on her wrists.
"Make me!" she shot back, the pressure of his hands increasing. It didn't bother her in the least.
Duo and Heero were looking down on them. "I suppose we have to separate our children," Duo said as he began walking down the steps.
"We should. Wouldn't want my daughter to kill your son," Heero replied dryly as he followed Duo.
The more that he pulled the tighter her grip became. He felt like choking her and kissing her senseless at the same time. "Victoria, let go!"
"No!" she shouted furiously. Her grip tightened even more.
"All right, you two," said Duo as he began to detangle her fingers from his son's hair.
Heero pulled his daughter away as her fingers were finally loosened enough from Chris's hair. "You two are going to kill each other someday if you keep this up," he said as looked down at his daughter.
"That's the whole idea," Victoria retorted as she glared at Chris.
"You wish," Chris snorted as he glared back at her.
Duo and Heero sighed. Their two oldest had been at it since they could walk and talk. Chris would antagonize Victoria, who would then retaliate in kind. And as they had gotten older, it had only gotten worse. They pulled them in opposite directions.

"What did I tell you about annoying her?" Duo asked his son as he pushed him towards the table. "And I thought you two called a truce."
"Not to piss her off," Chris sighed as he rubbed his sore scalp. "But I can't help it. I get some strange amount of pleasure in making her mad," he admitted. "And the truce thing, well that was to not include the others anymore. Between the two of us, hell no. She needs to be taught a lesson and I'm the one teaching the lesson."
Duo rolled his eyes again. He looked over at Victoria. She was almost an exact image of her mother, except for the Prussian blue eyes. He looked back at his son, who was watching her. There was that unholy light that had entered his eyes and a lazy smile was curving his lips. Duo knew that look. It was one that Heero had said that he had when he would look at Hilde. "Chris and Victoria? They would kill each other first. But then again, Chris is crazy enough to go after a woman that would kill him. Sounds like me."
*************************************************************** ***************
Heero pulled his daughter along with him as he walked back up the steps to the deck. "You only encourage him to do things like that, sweetheart," he said as she sat down on the loveseat. "And I thought that there was a truce?" he asked.
"That devil doesn't need any encouragement!" Victoria said hotly as she crossed her arms. "And I certainly wouldn't back down from any challenge that Maxwell throws me! And that truce, dad, out the window!" she snapped as she gestured towards Chris and Duo. "I always give as good as I get!" "And I'll get him back for that insult about those kisses."
Heero raked his hands through his hair with exasperation. He took a glance over at Chris. He was so much like Duo it wasn't even funny. And he was reminded that Duo and Hilde had fought like cats and dogs before they were married. Much like his daughter and Chris did. He looked down at his daughter. She wasn't glaring at Chris anymore. She was just watching him. "Victoria and Chris? No way. My daughter would kill him first, but then again, Chris reminds me of Duo when he was that age. He would do stuff for the hell of it and enjoy it. And look what happened with Duo and Hilde. He married her, eventually. But even that was after he got her pregnant." He looked over at his daughter again. She was looking in the opposite direction. He looked over at Chris, who was staring at her. That smirk that the Maxwells were known for was on his lips. "If he's thinking what I think he's thinking, I might have to kill him. Bad enough he kissed her twice."
************************************************************ ******************
Victoria turned her head away. She didn't want Chris to know that she had been staring at him. She would admit, grudgingly, that he was extremely handsome. And that she liked him because he wasn't afraid of her father or her. She felt some heat come to her cheeks when she thought of the two times he kissed her. They had been meant to be insults, but yet they thrilled her. "Stop it! Do you know what you're saying,"one voice in her head yelled at her. "Yes. He's a damn good kisser and he makes your knees get all weak and rubbery," the other voice chimed in. "Shut up!"she screamed at herself. "No. And if you really wanted to admit something, you would say that you're hot for him. That the sight of his bare chest makes your palms sweat and the way that sexy braid of his swings when he walks. And especially those eyes of his that you could drown in. And that you wouldn't mind hopping into bed with him if he asked," the voice in her head so pointedly told her. "NO!" she screamed again."That's bull and you know it!" "Go away!" she gritted her teeth as she argued with herself. "I don't want him. I don't," she said under her breath. "Liar, liar, pants on fire!" she said in a singsong voice. "Sorry, here to stay until you admit what you know is true. That you're hot for him and that you want him so bad sometimes that you can't think straight. "Will you just go away," she hissed at her voice. "Sorry, princess, I'm here to stay!" She balled her hands into fists. "Well I won't give in. I won't," she said as she glanced back at Chris out of the corner of her eye.
******************************************************************* ***********
Chris went and sat under a tree in next to the pool. He looked up at Victoria. She looked flushed and mad at herself. He kept his eyes trained on her. He knew that his father knew he was up to something. His dad wasn't stupid. "Because he pulled the same things with mom. That's what Aunt Relena told me," he sighed and raked his hands through his damp bangs. He grinned again when he thought of when she poured the water on his head. She had looked angry enough to kill. And she looked even more beautiful that way. Her face was bright with color, her hair plastered to her neck and shoulders, and they way that her breasts had heaved angrily as she yowled at him She was very much like a cat. A lot of hissing and spitting added with sharp claws. He wondered what she would be like when she wasn't tearing into him. "Wouldn't mind seeing her purr like a kitten," he thought idly. "Whoa, where did that thought come from?" he asked himself. "You know where it came from. You like her. No you more then like her. She turns you on. Don't deny it, Maxwell, you know you want her in bed. Those two kisses you gave her should've told you that!" the voice in his head reminded him. "They were insults!"he hissed at his mind. "You meant them as insults, but you didn't count on her lips being soft and warm like that," the voice said again as a reply of her lips rushed through his mind. He ground the heel of his hands in his eyes. That was his problem. He knew he wanted her, he didn't want to admit that he did. She was everything that he wanted and more. But he could imagine what Heero would do to him, if he knew he was entertaining prurient thoughts about his daughter. He would flat out kill him. "But then again, that still wouldn't stop you. You're a Maxwell after all." He chuckled. "Yup, I'm one of those all right," he said to himself as he continued to watch Victoria from afar.
Getting hot…
