Heero watched the screens, mind numb, refusing to wake. It was a dream, surely, some kind of mistaken nightmare. He would wake up. He would walk away. He was not involved.

His eyes were drawn once more to the slumped figure on the small vid screen. It was no dream, no flight of fancy. Only life is this cruel, this unforgiving. Taking a deep, calming breath, Heero opened his bag and pulled out his supplies, mind already working out the details of a new ID. It would take all night, but he had time.

He knew Duo wouldn't talk. The idiot had proven that several times. He had all the time he needed. He didn't even have to go…Duo wouldn't talk.
