New Chance

Five months have passed since things tore apart. Since Heero disappeared. Duo had taken a job up with Hilde
on L2, and didn’t visit the other pilots very often, though he did keep in contact. He had realized that Heero wasn’t
coming back to him, and yet he still didn’t want to admit that he was at fault for the end of the relationship. Quatra
and Trowa remained together and loyal to both sides. Wufei still worked as a preventer. Heero, well Heero was still
working as a shadow preventer, and his location remained unknown.

“So Wufei, ‘fess up! There’s something bothering you, something you want to ask, and I don’t even have to use
my space heart to know that. What is it, are you ok, is something wrong?” Quatra asked slightly worried by Wufei’s silence,
and fidgeting.

“Um well, I.. I was just wondering if……”Wufei paused a little nervous to continue, he felt like wanted to just forget it
and get out of there, and fast. “ well ummmm, that is have you heard anything from Yuy lately?” he mumbled so softly it
almost went unheard, almost.

Quatra looked relieved that it wasn’t something bad, and that Wufei tried to hide the fact that he cared greatly
for Heero, if he didn’t know better, he’d think he was in love with him, but who knows. So he simply answered as honest
as he could. “Well yes, and no. I don’t know where he is exactly, but he lets us know that he’s alive and safe. I guess
that’s as much as we can expect from him. I have found that he’s on a mission on L1, but Lady Une refuses to tell me more.”


“Oh, ok. Well it’s getting late, and I have to work early, so I better be going.” Wufei sounded slightly down that
there wasn’t more information, and a little ashamed that he revealed that he was worrying over Heero so much.

“Wufei. He’ll be alright. This is the ‘Perfect Soldier’ he’s indestructible, remember. Just don’t worry ok. By the way,
don’t be ashamed of worrying about him. It’s natural to worry about people you care for, and you obviously care a lot
for him. Just go home, get some sleep, and stop worrying.” Wufei stared at Trowa blankly, and was shocked that all
that came from him. “Uh, yeah, well goodnight you two.”

He left the mansion, returning to the preventer apartments. ‘I can’t believe I’m worrying over him like some onna.’
‘No, I can believe it. Why wouldn’t I be worrying about him. He’s… he’s heero. He’s strong, smart, prideful, kind in
his own way, funny in a slightly intelligent humorous kind of funny, and he has the most amazing eyes. His face may
remain stoic at times, but his eyes show a love and passion that can burn through you. The only thing better than his
eyes, are his smile. He smiled with Duo, but not the normal smile that was around us. But the smiles that he hides when
he thinks no ones looking. The ones he gives on Christmas when everyone is laughing and opening presents. The one he gives
when he saw Quatra and Trowa get married. It’s the small smiles the ones that aren’t big and shining, but the ones that
show content happiness in those moments.’ “Who am I kidding, I’ve fallen hard. God Yuy where the hell are you?” he sighed
as he entered his apartment.

Wufei knocked and entered the door marked ‘Une’. “You wanted to see me Lady Une?” he asked nervously since he wasn’t
informed that that there would be a new mission. “Yes, please sit down agent Chang.” “It seems one of my agents needs a
little help. It appears that although his cover is secure, there is a man in the group that is attracted to him. Normally
this is not a problem, but this man refuses to give up, and keeps trying to constantly be around our operative, making it
difficult to find information, and contact us. Now members of the group he’s associated with are allowed to take up a
lovers, and we need to get an agent into that position in order to give him some back up and to take away some suspicion
from our agent. However this mission will not be able to be fake. It will require a real sexual relationship to occur.
They are a very open group and most rooms aren’t secure. Therefore sex will be necessary. Do you accept this mission?”
she asked sternly.

“I understand what is needed for this mission, but may I also ask what the mission is for?” Wufei asked trying
to get down the details needed. “Yes, and that’s a perfect reasonably question. The mission is simple. The group goes by
the name Sabers. They are a strong group that delves in a variety of stuff. Drugs, sex slaves, and weapons armory. We are
not after the Sabers themselves. Instead their clients. It seems a group of ex-Oz soldiers are growing and power, and
are buying into weapons. Mission is to find out who and what, and to get rid of them before they do any real damage. Our
agent is their hacker and bodyguard to the head guy. You as a lover, can enter the group, under the condition you remain
with your partner at almost all times, and you are to protect him. So knowing the basics do you accept this mission?” she
asked.


“Yes, it sounds reasonable. Besides I don‘t really have much of a choice.” he took up the file she held out to him,
and began walking out the door. “By the way, agent Chang, the agent you’ll be helping on this mission is agent Yuy.”
he paused at those words, and stood there with his hand on the door just shy of closing it. Then he took a slow breath
and closed the door. Wufei entered his office and sat down in his chair, and just got lost in his thoughts. ‘Yuy. I’m
going to see him again, and even get to be with him. If only for this mission, I will remember and cherish those moments
with him.’ ‘ I can’t believe I’m going to see him soon. I wonder if he’s changed like Quatra said. He said he seems a
little more up and strong in his short messages. I guess I’ll find out for myself soon.’ he thought almost shaking with
excitement.

“Be careful Wufei. I know you really care for him, but just be careful. He probably still loves Duo in a way, so
don’t hurt him or yourself.” Quatra warned over the vid-phone before Wufei left for his new mission. “I know Winner,
I know. But his is my one chance to find out what it would have been like to be with him” Wufei pleaded for them to
understand.

“Good luck, and tell him hi for us as well” Trowa said supportingly and he gave Quatra a kiss on the cheek.
“ We’ll miss you, and we support you all the way Wufei.” he said.
