"Do you like?" Heero asked.

Quatre nodded, trying to take everything in. they were at a beach, sitting on a cliff just up enough to see the entire beach.

The sun had begun to set casting a greenish-yellow glow into the water. The water seemed to sparkle with life with gentle waves that seemed to complement the water.

The silver stars had made their appearance along with the shimmering silver moon.

Heero pressed play on the CD player. The soft music drew Quatre's attention back to Heero.

"This is really nice." He said.

Heero didn't say anything as he sat down next to Quatre and lit the candles. He opened the basket that was next the CD player and brought out two Subway sandwiches and bottled water.

Sensing Quatre's question, Heero said, "I didn't want to ruin our date with my cooking."

Quatre smiled softly. He wondered why no one was at the beach on such a nice warm night.

"I searched for a place that was relatively unknown and make sure it was safe. I wanted us to be alone."

"You didn't have to do this." Quatre said before taking a bite.

"I know."

For awhile there was silence while both boys enjoyed being in each other's company and the peaceful silence with only soft music playing.

Heero laced his fingers into Quatre who in turn smiled back.

After they had finished eating Heero blew out the candles and lay down. Quatre followed suit and rested his head close to Heero's shoulder.

A few minutes later Quatre broke the silence by asking:

"What are you thinking about?" He wasn't entirely sure if he was going to get an answer.

"You." He said softly.

Quatre pushed himself up slightly to get a better view of Heero. He hesitated for a moment, "Why did you choose me over Relina?"

Heero didn't expect this question, "What made you think that Relina was ever a choice?"

"I shouldn't have asked, I'm sorry." Quatre said, betraying himself.

"Please tell me."

"I've seen the way you used to look at her."

"Look at me," Heero said, and gently grabbed Quatre's face, "I don't play games. I act on my emotions with careful thinking and I asked you, not Relina. If I ever liked Relina, it was nothing compared to how I felt about you."

"I know." Quatre whispered closing his eyes.

"Don't apologize, I understand." Heero said pulling Quatre down next to him.

"Okay, I'm- "

"I told you not to apologize, so don't."

Quatre nodded with a smile.

Heero's arms found their way around Quatre.

"You know, I've never really been to the ocean." Quatre said.

"What do you mean?"

"I suppose I might have fought a battle or something, but I've never got the chance to enjoy it. I'm glad I'm on earth. It's so beautiful.

It's not just that, but I finally feel like I have a permanent home. Although I do miss my sisters from time to time."

"What was it like? Having so many siblings?" Heero questioned. He'd never had a real family before.

Quatre looked at Heero sadly, "To be honest, I don't know them all very well, mainly just Iria. I'd like to get to know them, but up until I was about thirteen I spent most of my time preparing to take over the business.

I think they were jealous, I was the youngest and the only boy. I'm sure some of my sisters wanted to have the job. The only reason I was the heir was because I was a boy. I would have rather just been a violinist."

"It's not too late."

"Maybe, someday..."
