Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Proposal ❯ Knock first. ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Well, you asked for it, and I deliver. I left some openings for a sequel to my fluff and the end was lacking. Just goes to show, you review, I write. La! No da. Song ficcish, also my first song fic! Mwahahahaha.
She woke up at about noon and almost screamed when she realized what time it was. She got up and realized she was, however, no longer tired. And mysteriously… the shower was running…
Relena crossed the room over to her wood vanity set and pulled at her bottom eyelid, seeing that her bags had gone away. She felt ten times better than she had in months, to think, sleeping an extra six hours… With that she turned on her television to remind herself what she was missing on her day off.
In the corner of the screen there was the icon of the channel and the time, after a pause the date also appeared. She went back to her vanity to get a brush, and then slowly turned back to the TV. That date couldn't be right. I had to be a day fast. She froze with the realization that that was impossible.
Ridiculous, that would mean I would have had to sleep through a day and a half-
This time, she did scream, she had missed a whole day of work, sleeping.
There was a loud thump in the bathroom and sounds of scrambling. Relena began to frantically gather her papers. She had fallen asleep working, why the hell didn't Pagen woken her?
The door to the adjoined bathroom door flung open with a 'bang!' Out slipped Heero, he gripped the door's handle to keep from slipping again on the wood floor. She saw a sore mark where he had banged his leg. Actually, she realized, his upper thigh, her eye traveled upward to the towel he gripped with his left hand to his bare chest and suddenly her heart was beating wildly. Then, she reached his face.
He was tense and ready for action, and believe her, she knew. She could see his muscles coiled and.. :ahem: back to his face, he looked concerned and protective.
Unfortunately, when he realized that she wasn't in danger, he looked a bit peeved. "What happened?" he asked in monotone, reverting back to his soldier routine.
Um," Relena blushed and he caught her staring at him again.
Then, something magnificent happened, and it was so cute too, Heero, the once perfect soldier, now pretty normal guy working for the Preventers with a dark past, blushed. Then he went back into the bathroom and after a couple of minutes, (Relena was standing there in shock the whole time.) he returned out of the bathroom with pants on and the towel around his neck.
He walked right past Relena and put on his green tank top. She snapped out of it and realized her position. As much as she trusted Heero, she couldn't remember anything from the past day, he was in her shower and she had woken up (dressed?) in bed.
"What the hell is going on here?" She asked. Hero turned to her and narrowed his Japanese eyes to slits.
"You slept," he replied. There was something about the way he said it…
"Heero, don't be short with me, explain. Now. I want to know why I'm here and not at work," she said a bit angrily, Heero seemed to be annoyed.
"Don't speak to me like that, I'm not another one of your pet politicians, you were overworked and fell asleep. I… let you sleep and made sure you weren't disturbed." Well, that was awkward. His eyes roamed down her body and met her eyes once more but his expression didn't change. She was still in that nightgown, and she had slept next to him for almost a day now. He was glad he took that shower.
Amusedly she had caught him checking her out, but she was enraged by his words. But then, it all became clear, it was a distraction from the tension between the two. Well, to exorcise revenge, she would just have to let that go, ne?
He tried to stay emotionless as he saw the shift in emotions he saw in his eyes. He really hoped those words hadn't stung as much as he imagined they did. A firm resolve came to her face, Goo, that's my girl, your always stronger than I give you credit. Wait that's not right… but he had not time to argue with himself, she shifted her body language and took a step forward.
His breath caught; he took a step back.
She saw him panicking, not openly, but she could tell. "Heero," she purred. His eyes flickered the slightest. "Why were you in my room that night? And what are you doing in my room this morning, two days later?" Heero gulped and became very aware of that bulge in his pocket. (AN:Not what you think, rated PG!)
She advanced another two steps, Heero stepped back but hit the door. She closed the distance between them and laid her palm on his chest. "Hm?"
Had he not had years of training as a kid he would have 'eeped'. He and Relena had a good relationship, but they chose to go no further than, ano, not that far. She used the tip of her finger to run it lightly in a vertical line up and down his chest. This was just the situation he was trying to avoid.
His head was foggy but he tried to answer her. "A, ano… I was," he drew a blank. All he could think of now he was sure he would never say. "worried about you!" yeah, that was it. "You were tired."
"Oh," she looked a little disappointed. His heart ached to see her so sad. Something in his mind was screaming, Do it now! Do it now! he ignored it irritably. She brightened again though and got a mysterious look in her eye. "Then you won't mind leaving while I change?"
This completely bewildered him, not what he was expecting and he even felt some disappointment he knew he wasn't supposed to be feeling. "Huh?" he asked.
To a closed bedroom door.
He stared at the door and thought about what an idiot he was being. Why didn't I do it? Why couldn't I do it? At this rate, his record for putting this off might outweigh in his difficulty to kill her from years ago.
ARG! He slammed one fist into the other, as opposed to the wall, which would have cracked. He loved her so much; she made him feel whole. They had been together so long, kami-sama knows they were ready to at least move the physical relationship up a step.
It was so frustrating! So confusing! It wasn't that he was afraid of commitment. He was… She had always been there. Even from the start he had relied on her presence as much as she depended on his, even though he wouldn't have admitted it back then. She was his hope for peace and redemption. Without her… he would be dead. He was sure. She had faith in his kindness, in her own way she had been fighting right beside him, both for peace.
There was a psychological term, codependence or something. Two people relied on each other even though they didn't realize it. They needed each other. They wanted each other. THEN WHY CAN'T I DO IT?! he raged at himself as he walked calmly down the hall.
Then it struck him, what he was just doing, suppressing his emotions from outside his own mind. That was the thing, for something so serious, so important; he still had a block that wouldn't allow him to act on his emotions. It was so hard and she had put up with it for years, helping him, but she couldn't help him with this.
He let out a ragged breathe. Then he would resort to his own way of doing things. Mission: Proposal: Accepted.
Well, this is supposed to be fluff, it's my twisted version of fluff, and its getting mad reveiws, so of course I write more! Mwahahahaha. Reveiw me, there should be one more part, you have no idea how tempted I was to make this some sort of citris, oh well. Fluff to com, but this is the setup, well, it can kind of be considered fluff, just not sappy fluff, it's ficcy fluff. Helen logic... Thank you to everyone who reviewed me! Laaaaa, cheese and peace be with you. More to come soon.
