~Part 6~
"Nostalgia of the Future"

"So, Hiro, what do you reckon ol' Relly's complaing about this time?" Duo asked, his gorgeous violet eyes twinkeling with mischief. Hiro's face remained clam, though inside he was irritated. Why did Relina call an emergancy meeting of the Gundam pilots at such short notice? He and Duo had been having so much fun too....(*hint hint*)..
"She probably broke a nail." Hiro said plainly, as they reached the door of Relina's house. Duo laughed. "Let's hope she doesn't make us paint it for her eh?" Duo said playfully, as he swung the door open. Pegan greated them, his old, kind face contorting into a pleasent smile.
"Good day to you Master Yui and Master Maxwell. Her highness shall see you shortly."
"Thanks Pegan!" Duo said happily, flopping himself onto one of the luxerious couches in the room. Hiro glanced around. Wufei was seated in a plain looking oak chair, apparently deep in thought. Quatre was conversing happily with Trowa, and waved when Duo plunked down next to him.
"Hey guys! Wonder what it is this time, hm?" Quatre's high voice said, as he brushed some of his golden bangs from his eyes. Duo smiled.
"Personally, I think this is a bit obnoxious of her. Calling us in and making us wait." Wufei voiced from his chair on the other side of the room.
Duo sighed. "Relly can be so proper, but then again, she can also be a manipulative bitch."
Wufei smiled secretly. Sounded like Julie.
"I'm sorry to keep you all waiting, gentlemen." Relina's calm diplomatic voice sounded as she walked gracefully down the stairs, clad in her favorite light blue dress. Her high heels glittered softly in the nice light of the room as she stepped down into the room.
"I have a surprising guest for you...and Hiro, he has some starteling news he wants to share with you." Relina's voice was calm, but her gaze gave her away. She was panicked and to those who knew her beyond her political mask it was evident. Her regal bearing extended throughout the room however, the energy she commanded palpable.
"Who is this guest? Do I know him?" Hiro asked paitiently, not expressing the concern he felt. When Relina was this shaky....
Relina swept over to one side presently, as the sillohetted footsteps of the visitor echoed in the dimly lit stairwell. As the figure stepped closer to them, Hiro could faintly make out the sillohette of a young teeange boy, one almost his height with a reasonably good build. Take that back, very good build Hiro corrected himself as the boy's arms entered the light....then his chest and head....and what they saw, was breathtaking.
The boy was very tall and slender, with dark brown bangs curved at a familiar angel. His eyes were blue, deep and all knowing and his smile was faint. He looked almost exactly like Hiro Yui.
Hiro couldn't stop himself from the suprised intake of breath. Apparently he wasn't the only person in the room who had needed one....
The boy smiled, a gesture which made the rest of the room silent.
"I see you are all surprised. I admit, I myself am a little taken aback by my resemblance to your leader, but nevermind that. That is not why I am here."
The boy spoke, his voice much higher than Hiro's deep growl. His voice was more like that of a normal teenage boy, one who didn't worry about making himself any friends or attracting suspicion.
"Allow me to introduce myself properly." the speaker straightned now, so that his full height was visible and his confidence palpable throughout the silent room.
"My name is Toshiro Yui. I am an assasin, trained warrior and..." he stood in front of Hiro.
"I am your son Hiro Yui." Toshiro said, with utmost sincerity, looking into Hiro's prussian eyes. Hiro gazed back, shock evident even on his usually expressionless face.
Wufei sneered. "How is that possible?"
Duo seemed to come out of a trance and began to nod his head. "Yeah, Hiro's single, aren't ya' Hiro?"
Hiro sighed. "He can't be my son...."
Toshiro smiled. "What you say is true, at this point in time, there is no way I could be your son...but I am not from this time."
Relina suddenly spoke, the first time she had since introducing Toshiro. "He's from the future, Hiro." she said urgently, steadying herself with the stair rail. Toshiro flashed that curious smile again and laughed. "Indeed, I come from about 17 years in the future to be exact."
Hiro stared at him. "You....are my son?"
Toshiro nodded pleasently. "As I have allready pointed out. But I didn't come here for a pre-date family reunion, I came here to warn you all. There is a great danger approaching, one which I have come here to remedy. I fear, however, that I will require your help in this matter."
Toshiro looked into Hiro's eyes again, and Hiro felt a strange feeling overcome him. It was almost impossible to describe, but he knew, in his heart of hearts that he belived Toshiro's story.
"Will you listen?"
Hiro nodded slowly. Toshiro grinned. "Excellent!"
The tall brunette boy smiled suddenly, and approached Duo. Duo, who was leaning on the back of the couch looking over it at Toshiro, seemed slightly affronted by this gesture. Toshiro held out his hand.
"It is a pleasure to meet you in your full youth, Mr. Maxwell. I worked with you under somewhat different circumstances in my time, but all of them have been extremly rewarding, I can tell you. You have become somewhat of a role model to several of my friends and even myself." Toshiro bowed his head. Duo took the extended hand hestitanly.
"Uh....nice to meet you kid...."
Toshiro smiled and released Duo's hand, making his way over to Quatre and Trowa next. He held his hand out to each of them in turn and they shook it. Toshiro smiled at them.
"This is a honor, to be in the same room as the fabeled pilot extrodenaire Trowa Barton and the young violinst Quatre Raberba Winner...."
Both boys tried to grin at him but failed. Quatre because he was still shocked, and Trowa because it was so rare he smiled that he had almost forgotten how. Toshiro didn't seem to mind.
Next, Toshiro approached Wufei and bowed politly before offering the handshake.
"I have long admired you from afar, Wufei-san. I have watched your martial arts instruction of my sister though I never did get the chance to speak to you in person more than once."
Wufei took the gesture akwardly and shook Toshiro's hand. Toshiro then approached Relina, extending his hand and kneeling before the queen.
"Your Majesty, I cannot thank you enough for tending to my injuries last night....I hope I will get the chance to serve you more here as well as in the future."
Relina smiled sweetly at Toshiro for a moment as he kissed her hand. God, she didn't let him see how she felt....
Outside, she was calm. Inside, it was pure chaos.
Hiro Hiro, her precious Hiro belonging to some woman other than her? It was almost to much for her to cope with....
Hiro loving somebody else enough to marry them and have a child....oh god, it hurt her..she wanted to die, to fall away into that asscending darkness inside her chest...that ache, let it swallow her up and take her....but....
She did not. Instead, she gazed politely at Toshiro who had just arisen from the floor and walked over to the window. Relina found her mind blocking out outside noises, she was only focusing on this boy. True, he was connected to Hiro, but it was a connection that she desperatly hated and wanted to remove....
VRROOOOM!
Relina opened her eyes to the world around her as the sound broke her thoughts. Toshiro was gazing out the window of the mansion smiled at something. Hiro stood up and approached him.
"What is it? An enemy?"
Toshiro smiled. "Nope. An old friend...and she's right on time."
It was Wufei's turn to look suspicious. "Your companion is a she? On a motor cycle like that?"
Toshiro turned to Wufei, his grin still in place. "Indeed."
Wufei sighed. "As if the girls we have helping us aren't problem enough...."
Quatre laughed. "Who is she?"
Before Toshiro could speak, the door to the room was flung open with such ferocity that Quatre fell back onto the couch. In the doorway was a sight to behold, even for Gundam piltos who had been all over the universe and witnessed bloody massacers. In the doorway, stood a short blond girl, with a long golden braid that shimmered as she brushed it over her shoulder. Her eyes were blue as saphires and deep and complex as the ocean, as they drifted over the scene in an amused fashion. The girl was dressed in leather from head to foot and Relina recognized her as the brat eho had almost run her over.
Not to mention that a *very* expensive Harley Davidson motorcycle sat in the street, visible from the open doorway. The girl smiled at them all and rushed over to Toshiro, embracing him.
"Toshiro-sama! I missed you so much!"
Toshiro returned the hug, smiling in a way that was very different from Hiro's set of grins. It was more human, with more happiness and his eyes reflected this with a pleasent joyous twinkel.
"Hey there Lenette....how's my little princess doing?"
Lenette looked up at him and beamed. "I'm great! Wait till you see Deathscythe Hell-Omega-san! It's looking sooooooo good! It's all thanks to your help of course, I'm really excited about the upgrade!"
Toshiro placed an finger over Lenette's lips to quiet her. The little girl was silent at once.
Everybody stared at the scene, either disgusted or surprised. The girl didn't seem phased by this, in fact they were all shocked when she strode proudly up to Duo, offered her hand and firmly seized his when his shock failed to register a response. Her next words could have stopped time for the pilots.
"My name, is Lenette P. Maxwell. This may seem as a shock to you, but Duo Maxwell?"
"Y-Yes?"
"I'm your daughter."
There was silence.
Duo fainted.
