Warnings: Language, eventual lemon, ATTEMPTED suicide

Authors note: Okay, here's the deal. I've decided to take pity on you poor reader and decided to upload Chapter 5 before getting the requested number of reviews. Don't ask me why, except that the last chapter didn't really move the story forward and this one has a little bit more action. However, enjoy the freebie because I'm not going to do it again!!!! I'm going to make you work for the last ones couple of chapters!!! : )

Oh, and I just realized that there are actually going to be 9 chapters total for this story, not 8, like I'd originally said. Sorry. I miss numbered my chapters somehow.

FF.net, get the total number of reviews up to 35, before you get Chapter 6 (which gets into the sex ed stuff)! And after that is Chapter 7, which has the beginning of the lemon in it!!!!

Important Note!!!! In a previous chapter, it stated that Dr.J adopted Heero when he is six months old! This was a typo b/c Heero's true origins are going to be talked about in chapter six. I have also fixed that mistake for any future readers for this fic. I just wanted to mention that, since I don't want you guys to think I'm contradicting myself in my writing! ENJOY! : )

Artymuse, I tried to e-mail you about your review, but it wouldn't work. Are you sure you typed your e-mail address in correctly? I still have the e-mail and would like to send it to you.

Chapter 5: Help Me Feel

Duo's POV

My blood ran cold at Heero's words. He was going to do it. Hew as really going to do it. Oh shit.

I sprang up off of the floor and shot through the door after him. I ignored Wufei's yell of surprise as I nearly bowled him over in the hallway. I ignored Quarte's startled questions as I darted through the kitchen in an attempt to cut Heero off. But mostly, I ignored the tears that were running down my face when I realized I might lose the most important person in my life.

Thankfully, Heero didn't seem to be in any real hurry to kill himself, and my mad dash through the house got me in front of the broken window just moments before he reached it. Flinging out my hands-as if that would really stop the Perfect Soldier-I said, "Heero, listen to me-"

"Get out of the way," he said coldly. The gun, which had magically appeared in his hand, never wavered from my face.

"No, Heero, listen-"

"Heero, drop the gun and turn around slowly," I heard someone say.

Tearing my gaze away from Heero, I saw Quarte and Wufei standing under the archway, both of their guns drawn and trained on Heero.

"Quarte, don't-" I started.

"Stay out of this, Quarte," Heero said without turning around. "This is none of your business."

"Damn it, you guys. Do you really think it's a smart idea to threaten a suicidal person with a gun?! Just let me handle-"

Heero turned towards the ceiling suddenly, even though his gun was still trained on me, almost as if his brain still registered me as the primary threat to his mission. Turning with him, I watched as Trowa jumped over the balcony and tackled Heero to the floor. The tree of us seemed frozen in shock as Trowa and Heero wrestled around on the floor. Sometime during the fray, Heero lost his gun. That didn't seem to stop him though and even Trowa's surprise attack wasn't significant enough to overcome the Perfect Soldier. Eventually, Heero ended up on top and I realized I had to do something fast before Heero did something he might regret-like kill him.

"God damn it, Heero, STOP! I'll teach you, alright?!"

Heero, who was a blur of motion a moment before, froze suddenly. He didn't turn towards me, his training not allowing him to take his eyes off the target pinned below him. His voice, however, was small when he spoke.

"You will? But you said…."

"Yes, I know what I said. Why the fuck does everything have to be so black and white with you? Did it ever occur to you that I might have been in shock when you asked me that? This is me, Heero. I'm not very rational in extremely emotional situations and I rarely think before I speak." I paused, taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm myself down. "Now, will you please stop strangling Trowa?"

Slowly, even reluctantly, Heero pulled away his fingers from Trowa's neck. It took Heero another minute before he got up and stopped pinning Trowa to the floor.

Not giving Heero a chance to change his mind, I grabbed Heero's arm and dragged him back in the direction of our bedroom.

Looking back on that moment, I can't believe that the others didn't try to stop us or straightjacket us or something! Even more amazing was the fact that they later forgave us for the how incident too. Of course, only after Heero sat down and told everyone the whole story behind is suicide attempt. He told us everything from his earliest memories of Dr.J's training and the Saratine injections all the way up to the end of the war, his withdrawal symptoms and Dr.J's final mission, ordering him to terminate his life. Most of what Heero's lie with Dr.J before the war was so horrendous that we've never spoken of them again. However, it provided a new insight into the complex being of the war's Perfect Soldier. It was the longest speech Heero ever gave in his life.

But at that time, as I was dragging Heero through the hall, all I could think about was getting Heero away from that window and try with every fiber of my body to get Heero to fall in love with me.
