Chapter 3:

Duo woke up again finding himself still in the confines of his now underground cave. He moaned halfheartedly as he climbed from his hammock feeling sated, rejuvenated, and sticky all at the same time. He blinked slowly recalling everything that had happened earlier. By time he recalled everything, his face was bright red with humiliation.

[Was it that bad? You seemed to enjoy yourself.]

“Why the fuck are you still talking to me?!”

[Because I can.]

“You mind fucked me! Why’d you do that?! Because you can?! You sick fuck!!”

[I was only fulfilling a fantasy of yours.]

The blush on Duo’s face that was receding came back in full force. Yes, it had been a fantasy of his to find out how it felt to--. He shook his head roughly before glaring out into the cave. It smelled like sex. “That ain’t mean you could do that!”

[Did I not do it correctly?]

“You ain’t ask if you could. That’s the same as rapin’ someone.”

There was a pause before Heero made a counter statement. [My apologies, Duo.]

Duo blinked. “When did I tell you my name?” He asked. He only received silence. //He apologized…why?...// He asked himself. Besides the obvious, the blue eyed man didn’t seem like the type to apologize for his actions. Why did he apologize for what he did? //Maybe he’s a nice guy?// He thought before mentally slapping himself. It didn’t matter how nice of a man Heero was. If he was truly as nice as he seemed, he’d let him get off this island without any problems.

He nodded firmly to himself. His reasoning was good. Yes, perfect. His stomach seconded that with a hungry gurgle. Absently, he reached into his pocket for his black bag. He opened it then reached in bypassing all the booby-traps he set inside. His hand reached a scroll first. He pulled it out and placed it off to the side. The second time, he reached an apple then a half a loaf of bread. Perfect meal.

He ate the bread first making a note to go out and get some water. After the bread was finished, he reached for the scroll and opened it.

“Hmm…a summoning spell, huh?” He mumbled to himself as he reached for the apple. He bit it quickly before going on to decipher the symbols. “This is a pretty ol’ spell.” He stated to no one in particular. “Ummonous u mansajero del oscurido y morio……Summon the messenger of darkness and death, huh?” Duo took another bite then rolled the scroll up again. “That’s something to look at later on.” He stated firmly to his curiosity. He bit into the apple one last time before tossing it off to the side. He placed the scroll back into his bag then placed the bag into his pocket. “Water.”

Duo stood fluidly walking over to the dirt wall of the cave. He placed his hand to the wall and closed his eyes in concentration. He listened intently to the sound of dirt moving and reforming until he was sure everything was done. When he opened his eyes again, the wall was now a staircase leading up. He climbed the stairs quickly.

Once he was back on the surface he closed off the stairs and took off away from his resting place. If he was spotted he would need somewhere to be able to hide again.

Heero stared out into the dense vegetation of his island.

“You feel guilty don’t you.”

The young lord turned towards the only other occupant of his study. Trowa stared back at him emotionlessly. “Am I that easy to read now?” He asked signaling that the other man was correct in assumptions.

“Maybe you can’t win this one over with lust.”

“I knew I couldn’t when he first woke up, Trowa.” Heero growled in annoyance. “But for some reason, I wanted to test him and that may have ruined my chances.”

“Then win back his trust.”

“And if I can’t?”

“When does the great Heero Yuy ever give up?”

Heero stared back at the one banged man seeing the challenge in those emerald eyes. “Hai, I’ll try.” With that, he placed his hands together making a sign. Within moments, his figure was gone in a burst of smoke.

Duo strolled down a strip of beach on the other side of the island. The white sand felt good between his bare toes. It was a pretty good view once you got around the thirteen men searching for him at that very moment. Well, thirteen minus the four he’d knocked out a few hours ago. When those men woke they would find themselves tied to a tree…with no pants.

The braided thief chuckled maliciously as he continued. A soft breeze blew through picking up the dirt packed wisps of his hair. Yes, it was well pass due for a shower. And he couldn’t have picked a better day. The sun was out and the humidity was down. Perfect indeed.

“Ah, hello, thief.”

Duo froze before spinning quickly to face behind him. He gasped as he came face to face with the object of his desire–uh despising. He glared heatedly into cobalt blue eyes. “What are you doing here?” He growled.

Heero only smirked. “This is my island. I came out to take a walk and clear my head.”

Duo threw up his hands in exasperation. “There ain’t no getting away from you!” He shouted angrily. He was startled as the other man began to laugh.

“Your English is terrible and I’m not out here for you…well…not in that sense.”

“What…trying to do what you did earlier in person?” The braided thief growled. He almost regretted the words when he saw the flicker of shame that went across the other man’s gaze.

“What I did…was uncalled for and highly unacceptable. I apologize again.”

“Why?”

Heero blinked then began to speak slowly. “…Because…it was uncalled for and highly…”

“No…why are you apologizing? Other lords don’t apologize for what they do.”

“Well, this one does. If you stay around long enough, you’ll find that I am a just person.”

Duo snorted and turned to make a run for it.

“Have you considered the training yet?”

“Uh…I’m still thinking about it.”

“Very well, have a nice day.” There was a burst of cold air making Duo turn around quickly to find himself alone again. Strangely enough, he also found himself missing the other’s presence. Shaking his head, he moved towards the water to begin washing.

Heero was back in his room thinking deeply when Quatre came to retrieve him. The young blonde watched the taller man carefully before walking in. “Lord Yuy.” He called for the man’s attention.

Heero looked up slowly towards him. For a second he didn’t see Quatre. All he could see was the young thief posing as the youth with those violet eyes. He blinked twice before recovering. “Ah, yes, Quatre?”

“Four of your men were found tied up and unconscious in the forest.”

“Ah, what are their damages?”

“Bruises and cuts here and there. They’ll need a new set of pants each though.”

“Pants? Wh–“ Heero stopped and began to chuckled. He found himself laughing a lot more lately. It was a very nice feeling. “Reimburse them for their garments and give them a three silver coin raise each.”

“Yes, Lord Yuy.” Quatre bowed shallowly and turned towards the door. Heero watched him go before turning to stare into space once again.

In Duo’s cave, our young thief sat in a similar state. He was clean and in new clothing. His cascading locks of hair were still loose around him and damp. He sighed heavily trying in vein to divert his focus on something without mesmerizing blue eyes. “I hate you.” He stated blankly and without the emotion he thought he would have behind the words. They fell flat on his ears making him wince inwardly. “I don’t like you.” He tried again. That seemed to have more feeling in it. “I…dislike you.” He ventured. That was a lie. “I…uh…don’t…fuck it!” He snapped.

He stood quickly and pulled out his small black bag again. He reached in a pulled out the scroll from before. Spells always took up most of his thoughts. He skimmed over the off-white paper finding a smaller spell inside the larger one.

“Minion of darkness.” He muttered. He laid the scroll on the floor placing an illumination spell beside it to see the symbols. He placed his hands perpendicular to each other before separating his fingers and lacing them. From there, he made four more signs absently keeping track of any changes taking place around him. Eventually his hands stopped on either side of him with his middle and ring finger folding down. The remaining fingers remained straight and rigid. “I give you life, I taketh away, beckon to my call night or day. Protection, defense, your work never done, rise and answer me, my minion.”

Purple winds kicked up as the last word was spoken. They swirled and clashed creating small purple lightning bolts. Duo shielded his face against the angry wind and his hair. Behind him, the lightning connected with the ground where his shadow mimicked his movements.

Heero looked up from his book of sells curiously. Invisible winds tickled up his skin making the hairs on his arm stand up. Slowly, he stood and made his way to his balcony window taking in the scenery. Black clouds swarmed over a certain pinpoint of the island. Mentally, he grinned in triumph. He knew where to find his thief now. The question was, what the youth was summoning from the darkness.

He sent a quick mental order to the soldier he thought could handle a simple spy mission.

Chang Wufei.

TBC……

A/N: That was not a real spell. It was something I made up. I wanted to translated into something like Latin or Spanish but I’m feeling lazy. Anywho, fight scene and probably some other stuff. I don’t know. I’m just typing as it comes to me. Hope you’re enjoying it.
