"Sister Relena, can you please step into my office?" The echo of Sister Une's voice reverberated over the speaker on the phone on her assistant's desk.

"Yes, Sister, right away!"

Sister Relena smiled brightly, she knew that this was good news for the child being adopted today.

Duo Maxwell finally was on his way to a good home. Although she tried not to get her hopes up too high because Duo was an older child. His heart was in the right place, but he was often a problem child of the school. However the one thing you count on with Duo was he was honest to a fault, which may have been the best reason he was getting adopted.

He had already passed the trial period with these perspective parents and now was hopefully to be placed with them, to grow up to be a good man. He was ten now and quite a handful but these people who wanted to adopt him were fun loving and liked his disposition. They were an older couple in like their early forties and they didn't want an infant, even so some times the best intentions can back fire.

Sister Relena cleared her throat as she opened the door to the office and tried to act unaware of the situation.

"Yes, Sister Une? What can I do for you?"

"Humm...yes, Sister Relena, I need you to go and retrieve Mr. Duo Maxwell's records from the downstairs vault. I will need a copy of the whole thing made by tomorrow morning for Mr. and Mrs. Merquise here."

She thought the younger nun was going to lose eyes as they bugged out of her head so far because Duo had the biggest record in the history of the institute. And with having him be here since birth, it was goin to take all night.

"They will be by to drop him off at school as he will continue on here until the eighth grade. That's why I need you to make a copy of the file," the head Sister continued and answered the question she knew was on the Sister Relena's mind.

And just as Sister Une finished her last sentence, there was a knock on the already opened door. Then the child in question bounced with his long braid flying passed Sister Relena and straight into Lucrezia Marquise's arms. Which made the nun turn around and look to see Father Heero, who had been requested to bring the boy to the office after his football practice.

Funds always being low at the school, Father Heero was the phys ed teacher along with the being the head coach of the football team. And even thought it was peewee league he was a first-rate coach of a great team.

The priest wasn't to sure if it was a blessing or a curse that this some what rich family decided, with a little coxing from Sister Une, that Duo staying here at the school would be good for a child his age.

Duo was his star player but also a thorn in his side with getting into trouble all the time. Being in detention having to missing practice and failing grades so he had to sit out a lot. But Duo had a lot of potential; football was in his blood when this kid was on the field he was a natural. If he ever got his head screwed on straight, he would go pro some day. So Father Heero Yuy did everything possible to nurturer his talent. At least if he never got adopted, he would have a great career in football.

"Thank you, Father, for bring Duo." Sister Une showed her gratitude.

"You're welcome. Hello again, Mr. and Mrs. Merquise," Father Heero obliged as now all eyes from everyone in the office were now on him. So he lightened the mood be saying, "Although, perhaps I should read your last rights, beings that you are taking on the wayward Duo, here."

"God knows will need all the help we can get, Father," Zechs who would be Duo's now new father, pointed out.

Everyone in the office laughed except Duo, as he stuck out his tongue at the priest, who luckily didn't see him doing so because Sister Relena was blocking his view.

"Well, if you'll excuse me now. It was nice to see you two again, and my condolences, opps, I mean congratulation." The Father laughed and smiled as he stepped forward and reached around the nun in front of him to shake Zechs's hand. "Take care." He nodded at Lucrezia beings her arms were full with her now longhaired son. "And, Duo, you be a good boy for your new parents and we'll see you bright and early tomorrow."

"Yes, Father Heero, I will be a good boy, I love my new mom and dad." The ten-year-old boy didn't leave a dry eye in the room as he went on to hug both Lucrezia and Zechs as hard as he could.

"Awwww...okay, on that note I will excuse myself too, before I become a mess," Sister Relena giggled and wiped her eyes of the tears that formed instantly at the display. "I'll see you all in the morning."

She turned to make an exit to find Father Heero holding the door open for her like the gentleman he was. "After you, Sister."

"Thank you, Father."

"Have a great evening!" they both said in unison to the people in the office.

As Father Heero closed the door and they heard, "You too!"

"Wow, did you ever think you would see the day when Duo Maxwell got adopted?!" Father Heero joshed to Sister Relena.

"God works in mysterious ways," she punned.

They both had a good chuckle.

Sister Relena continued, "And may god grant me a miracle tonight."

"Why's that?"

"Well, I have to go make a copy of Duo's WHOLE record, so the Merquise couple can have it tomorrow morning," she explained.

"Oh man, you don't just need a miracle, you'll need god himself to come down here and help you!" the priest teased.

"Oh gosh, that would be nice huh?!" she giggled.

"Well, would you settle for me?"

"Ah, Father Heero, that is very kind of you, but I couldn't ask you to do that."

"You didn't ask, I offered."

"Are you sure? I mean you really don't have to, this is my job after all."

He gave a snort, "You would like to go to sleep some time tonight, right?"

And she chuckled, "Umm...yes, yes, some time tonight would be great, yeah. Okay then I will except your kind offer, Father, thank you."

"Okay, so what do we need to do first?"

"Well, first I need to go to the ladies room." Sister Relena stated bashfully and turned to go out the door of her office.

"Good idea, I'll go to the lavatory too." He followed her out and down the hall toward the bathrooms in that part of the school.

In the meantime Sister Une said good night and good luck to the new family. They left threw the side door of her office that led outside where the car and driver waited to take them home.

Then, Sisiter Une quickly picked up the phone to make a call. She waited until the call was answered.

"Hi, well we can forget meeting here. Who would have ever thought that Duo would really ever be adopted?!" she spoke in a not so Sisterly voice.

She paused again to listen to what the person had to say. Then in a really not so innocent tone agreed with the individual. "In your office it is then, Bishop Treize."

Sister Une hung up the receiver and quickly got ready. Then left out her private entrance like she often did, leaving Sister Relena supposedly all alone in the school.
