Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ The Courage to Fly ❯ Its all a Dream ( Prologue )
Its all A Dream
Just stop your crying it will be all right. Just take my hand and hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you; I will be here don't you cry.
It was a snowy day in winter. I wouldn't be able to tell you what day it was, because to me that was unimportant. My mother and I were making cookies, the smell filled my nose and made my stomach grumble. The warm cookie sheet was pulled from the oven and I wanted so badly to have one of those cookies. They were like the forbidden fruit the priest talked about so much; they were so close, but off limits. I reached out when I thought my mother wasn't looking and I grabbed at one of the cookies. The pan was burning hot still and my skin touched it, burning instantly. I cried out in pain and yelped, jumping up and down.
For one so small you seem so strong. My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm. This bond between us can't be broken I will be here don't you cry.
In no time my mother was there, with an ice cube in her hand. She held it close to my burn, being careful not to touch it with her skin. I cried softly and she just held me close, letting me cry. Daddy would be home soon then we could have dinner. I would tell daddy about how I helped mommy make cookies and we'd all laugh. I looked up at my mother and felt extremely safe. She was always there to protect me from anything, the man under my bed, or the monster in the closet. She was even there when I used to think a lobster would attack me if I took a bath. I had on my favorite hat, which my daddy gave me because I was a brave girl and slept with the lights off. I also wore a pretty pink dress, which my daddy had bought me for special occasions. My daddy was supposed to get a better job today cause Oz was hiring.
Cause you'll be my heart yes you'll be in my heart. From this day on now and forever more. You'll be in my heart no matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart always.
After the pain died my mother heard a knock at the back door. She told me to stay put and she would answer it. She looked out the window then suddenly hid me between the sink and the refrigerator. She didn't go to the door, which I thought was extremely odd, since mommy always answered the door. Daddy came in the front door and looked in on mommy and me. Mommy had always said daddy was the best looking guy in town, that when they were younger mommy had to beat girls off him with a baseball bat. He looked a lot like me with jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes. He was built like an Ox too. Daddy used to throw me really high into the air when I was really little.
Why can't they understand the way we feel? They just don't trust what they can't explain. I know we're different but deep inside of us...we're not that different at all you'll be my heart yes you'll be in my heart. From this day on now and forever more.
I noticed something odd about daddy today. He had a big red stain on his shirt...right on his tummy. Daddy had always told me not to make a mess when eating, so I thought it was weird when he had a big messy stain on his shirt. His eyes were pure white like those zombies on mommy and daddy's movies that I'm not allowed to watch. Sometimes I would sneak into the living room and watch just a little before crying because I was scared. Mommy suddenly grabbed me and started walking towards our side door. Daddy fell to the floor as I saw a knife in his back. I started crying because I wanted my daddy. That knife looked like it hurt him someone should pull it out.
Don't listen to them cause what do they know. We need each other to have to hold. They'll see in time I know.
Mommy was in such a hurry she forgot to grab the cookies that we baked for daddy. I thought maybe this was a game so that Daddy could eat all the warm cookies before I could get to them. I looked up at mommy and noticed she was afraid. I clung tightly to her as suddenly one of our windows was broken by the back door. I screamed as the glass shattered into a million pieces and fell to the ground like tiny little pennies. I was worried now this definitely wasn't a game. Last year a bunch of boys broke the window playing a game and daddy got really mad. Suddenly mommy set me down as a man walked in from the back door.
She looked at me and said, " Run Jesse and never look back. Mommy's has to stay here with Daddy, but you have to run. Go until you reach somewhere safe, away from Oz. Go Now Jesse Run!"
When destiny calls you. You must be strong. I may not be with you but you'll have to be strong. They'll see in time. I know, we'll show them together
I was scared as I looked up at my mommy. She turned to look at the man that walked in the door and blocked him from getting to me. I became scared and ran out the side door. I heard a loud bang and turned my head a bit to see my mommy fall to the ground. She didn't look good either. I kept running as fast as my little feet could take me. The whole town was burning like the campfires at night. Big scary looking monster tromped all over the ground and little dots of light came from there big sticks. I kept running as it began to leak from the sky. Mommy had called it rain, but daddy said that the sky was crying. I kept running as tears fell down my own cheeks. I knew mommy and daddy were gone, but I didn't want them to be. I kept running, my tiny feet padding against the ground as I held onto my hat in the wind.
Cause you'll be my heart believe me you'll be in my heart. I'll be there from this day on Now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say.
I kept running, looking back as the town got smaller and smaller. I was so tired and my feet were cut up a bit from the glass and junk lying in the road. My vision became blurred, not by my tears, but from being tired. It slowly began to fad as I fell asleep collapsing onto the road.
Cause you'll be my heart believe me you'll be in my heart.I'll be there from this day on Now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart always…always...I'll be with you. I'll be there for you always…always and always…just look over your shoulder….just look over your shoulder….just look over your shoulder. I'll be there, always.
