Crazy baka…he's always been like that. All jumpy and insane. Heero shook his head, pushing back longish bangs so he could see Duo's face more clearly. He was soaked from the rain but it was a chance he had taken, trekking into these woods to find the braided baka.

"Heero…?" Duo asked again, taking a step forward to see if this person was really his long time best friend. Heero nodded silently, stripping off his soaking jacket and tossing it onto a chair.

"Got any towels?" Duo nodded quickly and turned to grab some out of the small dresser type thing sitting in the corner of the closed off area. With a small smile he handed a big fluffy blue towel to Heero and then sat back in a chair.

"Damnit!" Heero smirked. Duo had sat on his jacket. Duo shot Heero a glare and moved to another chair, wrapping another towel around his waist.

"Are you just going to stand around all quiet and make me try and guess what in the hell you're doing here?" Duo muttered under his breath. Heero rolled his eyes and took a seat also, pulling one knee against his chest and watching the other teen.

"If you so much as snicker I assure you that your precious braid will be laying out there in the rain, minus the head its currently attached to. This is important. Got it?" Heero said through his teeth. He was still cold and the little towel wasn't helping any. Duo nodded quickly, clutching his braid in his hands, eyes open in fear, but also filled with curiosity. Heero only gave such a deep threat if something was really important. Heero took a deep breath and began.

"When you were younger you can't remember ever getting that cross that hangs around your neck right?" Duo nodded. "And you assume you've had in since before you lost your family, right?" Another nod. "Well you're right…and you're wrong. Yes, your family did give you that cross, but they never intended to lose you." Duo blinked, leaning forward slightly. This was interesting.

"When you were very young, before you could even sit up right, your parents pampered you, giving you the best of everything. You see, your family was rich. Extremely rich. And that cross around your neck isn't just some plain painted on fake gold. Its pure 24k." Duo's eyes widened, fishing the cross out from under his shirt to gaze at it. Was it really as Heero said it was. It couldn't be…if it were…why would I have not been told? Almost as if Heero had read Duo's mind, he answered his question.

"They were killed in a terrible plane crash Duo. You were with some cheap relative when it all happened. Your aunt wanted nothing to do with you since your parents died because she wasn't getting paid for it anymore. Within a day of being notified of your parents death she took all but that cross and left you on the doorstep of that orphanage. Along with a name tag of course. Even though the Maxwell family was quite wealthy no one figured you were any part of it, seeing as you were naked and so…dirty." Duo shook his head in disbelief. His hand clutched the gold cross tighter and he continued to listen.

"You're still wondering about that cross ne?" Heero asked and Duo nodded. "It opens a vault with all the money you could imagine. It was left to you by your parents in case there was ever a time that they couldn't take care of you."

"Why didn't someone tell me?!" Duo demanded, jumping off his chair. Heero simply stood and sat the long haired boy back down on the wooden chair.

"Like I said, no one knew. Apparently your aunt left the message in her will about you really being a rich Maxwell and stuff. She said that the vault is located in the Maxwell Manor, on L2." Duo groaned at the thought of going back out into space, but nodded just the same.

"I understand."
