Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ The Key ❯ Chapter 6
Well…I agreed to a bribe and now I'm stuck writing another chapter. Guess that teaches me to bribe people. I blame it on Taka and Sirius for sucking up to me. Actually…I don't know why I'm writing this. Sirius is the only one reading this story. Bah, I'll just stop complaining and get writing. YOU OWE ME FOR THIS SIRIUS!

Duo muttered…a lot…and it was very nice muttering either. Anyone passing him by in that rich neighborhood would have thought he was talking to them. This resulted in many gasps of shock and a ton of "Well I never…". The braided American simply continued walking, a little slouched over by his heavy back pack. He only stopped once to ask for directions…and got laughed at…loudly.
"It's just a simple question buddy," Duo shot back. "Not some sort of joke." The man he had asked continued to laugh.
"It has to be!" the man howled, doubled over from laughing so hard. "Even people who aren't from this colony know where the Maxwell Manor is!" Duo frowned and walked off, the man still laughing behind him.
"Ok…my guess is that the manor is easy to spot from this road," he mumbled to himself, peering around. The sunlight glinted off something, making Duo squint, than his mouth dropped open.
"Holy shit…" Dou's hand came up to grip at his cross while his back pack hit the ground as he stared in shock. With shaky hands he pressed the intercom button…after he realized he was standing in front of the gates that lead straight up to the front door of the manor. The small boxed crackled, before a voice could be heard.
"Yes?" Duo swallowed the gum he had been chewing, clutching the cross in his hands even tighter.
"Uh yeah…my names Duo Maxwell I--" He was cut off my a shocked gasp, and could hear people in the background whispering. The sturdy voice he had heard before spoke again.
"Mr. Maxwell…is it really you? Have you come back to us after all these years?" the man asked. Duo blinked…many times than nodded. Smacking his forehead, amazed at his stupidity, he pressed the intercom button.
"Uh…I think so…you see…I have this gold cross around my neck…and my friend Heero Yuy said--" He was rudely cut off again as the man babbled on about Heero having said something about the Maxwell son coming back, and the front gates swung open. A line of servants flooded around Duo, taking his bag and asking many questions. Duo thought he was about to crack when a very familiar voice shouted over the commotion.
"QUIET!" Duo's eyes went wide as he saw who had spoke, blinked a few hundred times, rubbed his eyes, than gaped some more.
"Heero?"
