The Night Will Only Know
Relena felt a great deal of pain and sorrow knowing that she was missing Heero, but like he said on his promise, if she ever was in trouble he would be there to protect her no matter what the cost.
//That night will live forever
Their first time to lie together
They were finally where desire dared them to go
Both belonging to another
But longing to be lovers
Promising each other that the night will only know//
While in a meeting over in Washington D.C., Relena was over there showing the President and the defense committee. She was there with blueprints of Heero's Gundam showing off the details. The Preventers thought it would be a good idea to show off these blueprints Heero still kept even though he stored them away hoping they would never be seen again. But with trouble going around in the U.S.A about the country going through war with Iraq, Preventers feared that the war may endanger the peace that was brought after The Eve Wars.
//Parked on some old backstreet
They laid down in the backseat
And fell into the fire down below
But they would pay for their deceving
For a deadly web was weaving
Why they picked that spot that evening
Lord, the night will only know//
Shortly after showing a projected presentation both 3-D and 2-D wise, people around the table clapped their hands for they were extremely amazed at the great features of the mobile suit. But while the crowd around her began cheering, Relena felt a strange-yet familiar feeling, like she felt that history was repeating itself on her. But surely enough it would happen for a strange presence was lurking around in the building. At first she didn't know who it was until she saw a person standing from the balcony. It was her former best friend and Heero's former lover Duo Maxwell.
//Well within the innuendos
Just outside the steamy windows
The night was shattered by a woman's scream
Motionless and frightened
The grip of fate had tightened
And with trembling hands they wiped away the steam//
From what she saw from the balcony, she could really tell that Duo was not in a happy mood, especially since he somehow knew of the love affair that Heero and Relena went through together. Fearing that her own life would end by Duo, she almost began to cry. But before that happened she heard a voice calling from inside her head and it said, "It's okay, Angel, I'm here to help you."
From the sound of the voice it almost sounded like Heero Yuy's voice, but surely enough she felt a sigh of relief once she found out that it was him in the darkness of the balcony behind Duo.
//They saw a woman pleading
Stumbling, begging, and retreating
'Til she became the victim of a foe
And they watched her fall in silence
To save their own alliance
But the reason for the violence
Just the night will only know//
"Put the gun down, Duo." Heero snarled holding his own gun near his neck
"Why are you trying to protect her and especially against me?" Duo asked not dropping his gun
"I gave her my promise that if she ever was in trouble I would protect her from anyone who might endanger her life...especially from people like you. And if you got a problem with my affair with her, I'll meet you on the battlefield tonight."
//And every paper ran the story
She was stripped of all her glory
And they told exactly how the woman died
Abandoned and forsaken
Too many pills were taken
And they ruled the woman's death a suicide//
"Don't think this battle is going to be easy to win, because I will not let you win easily."
"You better think twice before getting cocky with me in battle." Heero said with a darker version of his death glare.
With that being said, Duo angrily walked away from the building surely enough just to get right to work on rebuilding his Deathscythe.
Looking at Relena who was looking straight at him, he said to himself "I just knew that this would happen. But I never thought it would happen sooner or later. But maybe with those blueprints I'll be able to make some improvements with Wing Zero." Heero walked out of the building and waited near the car to pick her up.
//Bound by their behavior
They could have been her savior
Now guilt becomes an endless debt they owe
But another crime was committed
And it's never been admitted
Have the guilty been acquitted
Lord, the night will only know//

I think I might've gotten Duo a little too OOC oh well. Will Heero Yuy be able to win the challenge that he gave to Duo or will it be all in vain. The next chapter is where the fight begins. The chapter title will be known as: It's Over: Duo Maxwell vs. Heero Yuy (Song: Face to Face).
