The Magic Touch

Chapter 6

It was to go meet Colonel Une. We got to ride in a helicopter from the mansion to our destination, but I don't think that Nikki will survive.

Heero has grown very protective of her, as the days grew closer to her birthing date. Even though that was, like, seven months away. I truly believe that he would be a great father.

I wonder how Heero would react when he finds out that we are part of the OZ organization and that I dragged Nikki on the last mission with me. Oh well, only time will tell, and I have a feeling that that time will come soon.

Now on the helicopter, there didn't seem like enough room for all eight of us as we began to enter it, but we got it all organized at the end.

The helicopter had a long seat on either side of it and doors on the each side. On one of the long seats were Trowa, Duo, Krisi, and Wu-fei, and on the other Nikki and Heero and then Quatre and me.

Nikki was almost asleep on Heero's chest. It was so kawaii; she looked so comfortable too.

{"Umm…Nikki?"}

{"*mumble*…What?"}

`Gees, even her brain's half asleep.' {"Do you have the floppy?"}

{"Yeah, I knew that you would forget it, so I picked it up for you."}

{"Ok, I'm glad that one of us remembered."}

As soon as I cut the connection she fell right back to sleep.

Duo was talking again. I remember when Duo made one of the people that we were `stealing' from, pass out. Trying to keep up with my brother's talking when he gets going can really make you tired.

"Kat?" I turned to look at him.

He was reading a very old book, a rewrite since before the colonies, I think.

"How long till we land?"

"We land in about half an hour." He responded without looking up from his book.

`Great, I'm so bored, and we don't land for a while." Soon after, I fell asleep listening to my brother talk about anything and everything.

~~~~~~ Nikki's P.O.V. ~~~~~~

Samantha woke me up again through the mind link. It irritates me that she always decides to talk to me every time I get comfortable.

Being skeptical of Samantha's actions, I took the disk before we left and packed it in my bag.

After our short conversation hidden from the ears of the others, I fell asleep upon Heero's shoulder. He has been good to me, and more protective of me as my date grows closer.

I woke up soon after we had landed. I don't think that I like helicopters anymore. And the odd rumblings of my stomach proved that.

As I was being helped out of the helicopter, I saw a little bundle of energy run up to us and into Sam. This made her fall over.

It happens every time we come up here. The same bundle of energy would run out of the HQ and pounce on one of the girl. Although it ceased to do the same to me, because I do have a temper and I unleashed it. It was just one of those days.

~~~~~~~ Sam's P.O.V. ~~~~~~

The little bundle of energy known as Mariemaia ran straight into me sending me onto my back.

She has recovered really well since the incident a couple of years back. Her hair has grown down to her shoulders and she's now acting like a child of her age should.

I could hear Krisi laughing at me as I got knocked over.

"Hey Sweetie," I started. "Can you get up now? You're getting to big to be doing this."

"Okay." She said as she got up.

As I was being bombarded with questions from my brother, I heard Krisi ask Mariemaia where her mother was.

"Mommy is in a meeting, so she asked me to bring you guys to the mess hall to eat first."

Soon after we were all at the mess hall. Mariemaia said her good-byes and went off to play.

We were all eating and I decided it was time to play my usual trick. I always play this same trick to all the new people I meet up here.

Nikki and Krisi knew it was coming.

{"Don't you dare, not to us."}

{"Us either Sam."} They both warned me.

{"You guys are no fun."} I mentally pouted.

`Now who shall I pick' I thought to myself `Ah ha"

I knew who to choose now.

Trowa, he is the perfect target.

So I lifted his piece of meat, not able to identify what type of meat it is, off of his plate. I also made it twirl around a little.

This startled most of the guys at the table. I had trouble containing the laughter threatening to burst from me. Even Nikki and Krisi were smiling at this.

The meat dropped back down onto the plate as I lost my concentration on the meat.

"They don't fully cook the meat sometimes," I shrugged responding to the questioning glances going around the table.

{"Don't try that again"} Nikki reprimanded me though still laughing lightly at it.

{"Awe, OK Nikki"}

The rest of lunch was relatively uneventful and soon it was time to see Lady Une.

~~~~~~ Nikki's P.O.V. ~~~~~~

We went to the meeting room where Cornel Une was to meet us. There are only two doors the one we entered from and the other leading to the rest of the building that was hidden from the general public.

On either side of Lady Une, I could recognize our two friends, Steely and Ming. They gave us a nod as we entered. I saw Samantha give me a look that says that I had to give the floppy now. I didn't't want to give it now but with a half glare to Sam, I left Heero's side to give Lady Une the disk.

I could feel the others stare at me as I handed her the floppy disk, I could feel their questioning glare.

"Ladies, you may go and change now." Cornel Une told us.

We nodded and walked out, Steely and Ming followed some time later. We headed towards the bathrooms.

"Are you alright in there Nikki? You've been in there for a while now." I heard Sam yell through the door to my stall.

"I know, I'm ok, I ca…an't get the zipper up." That got Sam laughing, I even thought I heard Krisi chuckle.

Then the worst happened; the other two entered while they were laughing at my expense.

"What's so funny?" Ming asked as I finally got my zipper up.

"Nikki…couldn't…zip her pants." Sam laughs out.

"What? Why?" Steely questioned.

At this point I stepped out of the stall. In a small voice I answered.

"I'm pregnant."

"What, what was that? I didn't hear you." Steely prompted

"I'm Pregnant!" I said much louder.

"Your going to have to tell Cornel Une about this, you know?" Ming informed me.

"I know."

And it wasn't long until we re-entered the room. Cornel Une remained seated in her chair and Ming and Steely stood at her sides once again. Cautiously, I walked up to the Cornel and made a slight bow. I could feel a frown burning onto my head, so I felt that I should just speak out flatly.

"Ma'am. I have participated in a--"

"Just cut to the chase Koto"

I sighed to myself and cringed at the though of what her remark would be, and also of the confinement of my pants.

"I'm conceiving a child Ma'am."

I could feel her frown deepen. I was in for it. But to my surprise, Une began to giggle. I looked up in outmost confusion. Ming and Steely had one as well.

"So the perfect soldier got to you, didn't he?"

"Ma'am...?"

"How much longer do you have?"

"7 months"

She thought a little, her brows creasing together. She then raised her head and began to speak.

~~~~~~ Sam's P.O.V. ~~~~~~

Nikki had just told Lady Une about her baby that was on the way. The Cornel didn't seem too upset about that. She recommended that she see Sally Po.

Right now I am in the middle of a verbal fight with Heero. (A/N: lol, Heero in a verbal fight, oh well.) Nikki looks like she doesn't want to get into this, but I know that she will try to stop it if it gets out of hand. Heero had found out about the mission, Nikki and I went on; that's what started the fight.

"What if something were to have happened?" he shouted at me; then his voice went softer, "She could have been captured, miscarried or worse."

I have never seen someone freak out as much as Heero has right now, at least not since I was a kid. I don't think the others had seen him like this before either; 'cause right now they are looking at him like he grew an extra head or something.

"Calm down, alright. As you can see she's perfectly fine; the baby is also fine." I smiled a bit. It's good to know that she has someone that cares so much for her.

~~~~~~ Nikki's P.O.V. ~~~~~~

I saw Sam get that smirk on her face after her last little speech.

`I wonder what she's thinking.'

I realized that I had to step in now before things got any further. Trowa, Quatre, Krisi and Wu-fei were talking about the next mission. I'll be able to get it from Krisi later, right now I had a feeling that Heero would like to talk to me about this.

In the corner of my view, I could see Duo come over to talk to Sam, probably about the mission that we had together.

`He's just staring at me, should I start first?' I thought to myself

"Why did you lie to me?" So he decided to go.

`Damn, why did he have to ask that question first?' The others might not be able to notice it but I could see that he was very disappointed in me right now.

"I didn't really; I just didn't tell you the whole truth. I still went shopping." He started to frown, so I started to explain more. "When Samantha went to use your lap-top, that's what she was doing, she was getting mission orders."

He was thinking now, I hope that this doesn't ruin what we all have now.

"So that's how she got through all my codes." He smirked at this thought.

{"Guys?"}

{"Yeah?"}

{"Yes?"}

{"I had to tell him. I had to tell him about the mission and Lady Une"} I could hear Sam laughing again through the link.

{"It s ok Nikki. I had to tell Duo anyway; and I think they already know to some extent"}

That's Sam, always the obvious one. I made a note to pinch her later.

~~~~~~ Sam's P.O.V. ~~ The Mansion ~~~~~~

A week or so has past since the meeting and everything seems to be getting better. They know now that we also go out on missions; but I don't think Heero will letting Nikki go on any until that baby is born.

The guys are currently on a mission; Steely and Ming stayed at head quarters.

So now it's just us three; we sat in the back family room. There was a plush; three seater, light blue-grayish couch to one wall. A big plush chair; same color as the couch and it could easily seat two people in it. The chair was placed at an incline from the couch.

The coffee table that is normally placed in front of the couch was now pushed of to the side.

We, three, were currently sitting on the floor in a circle. We were practicing to control our powers. We usually couldn't do this because we now live with my brother and his friends. But now that they are out, hopefully for a while, we can practice.

Nikki started with fire because it is the easiest to lose control with; she first let a little out then gradually let it grow.

As Nikki was controlling hers very well, Krisi let hers out. Slowly at first as always since we're all out of practice. Krisi's strands of lightening mixed in with Nikki's wisps of fire.

Now being my turn, I had the power to control any object. I took some small objects and added them to our `game'.

We continued controlling the powers for awhile; no one talking. It was like old times, before all this happened. Only us three having the active powers; for ours were the hardest to control.

I was so into what I was doing I didn't even notice when the door opened or when the girls stopped.

I turned to face where the others were looking, it was my brother he had found us out. I couldn't tell what he was thinking; all I knew was that we had to explain it all now.
