Disclaimer and Warnings: Okay, first off, not mine, but you knew that already. Also, there's no money coming towards my poor ass for any of this. You knew that too. But hey, a vague disclaimer is nobody's friend. Neither are vague warnings. So there will be some very bad things coming up. Bastardized Heero and Duo. Some non-con, lots of blood, underage sex and drinking (as always). Some confusing emotional stuff. OK, so maybe it is a little vague. Hey, I tried. Anyway, enjoy the fic!
*Duo's POV*
Duo opened his eyes. The bed felt cold. It felt empty. Both feelings were too familiar. He lifted his head and looked over to Heero's bed. Empty too. He shut his eyes tightly and took a few deep, slow breaths. Calm down, Duo, you don't know if it means anything. Just get up and see if he's even in the house. Duo got out of the bed and began to dress, taking his time, sorting through his thoughts. Or at least trying to. He wasn't sure what to think, or even feel. He knew nothing. Only that the room was cold and empty and he was alone. He hated to be alone.
He took all of his fears and his doubt and pushed it all down where it belonged, deep deep inside where no one could see. He opened the door and stood in the bedroom doorway, hoping to take in the situation before anyone noticed he was there. It turned out not to be a problem. Only one person was in the room. He was sitting on the couch, crouched over, with his head in his hands. Duo slowly walked towards him, worried that Heero hadn't responded to the sound of the door opening. He knew that Heero had to have heard him. Heero heard everything. He reached out to tap his shoulder.
“Don't touch me.”
Duo drew back as if burned. “Heero?”
“Leave me alone.”
Duo bit his lip and reached out again, this time his fingertips grazing the skin on Heero's shoulder. He jumped up and pushed Duo, knocking him to the ground. “Don't fucking touch me! Haven't you had enough of that?” Heero's hands were in tight fists at his sides, knuckles white. Duo looked up at him, shocked and hurt. He had no words. Heero continued, “How could you let me do that to you? You tricked me. You did it on purpose. You got me drunk and you just looked so—“ He squeezed his eyes shut and growled. “It was wrong, Duo. It shouldn't have happened.”
Duo felt the tears sting his eyes and tried to hold them back. “I… I thought you wanted to. You said— It was—“ Duo couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Heero opened his eyes and looked down at Duo, seeming resolved now. “It was wrong. You get drunk and all you think about is sex and not the consequences. You never think that it was wrong.”
Duo stood up, begging Heero, “I always think it's wrong! But not last night, Heero. It was beautiful and perfect and right.” Heero frowned. “It was disgusting and it was profane. It was no different than any of your other drunken fuck fests.”
“Yes it is, because I love you and you love me”
Something in Heero seemed to harden. Any visible emotion was gone. “What would I want with a filthy slut like you. You'll spread your legs for anyone after you've been drinking. I feel soiled by you. I don't think I'll ever be clean.” Duo felt physical pain from Heero's words. It's his defense mechanism. It has to be. He's hurting me on purpose. He's trying to push me away. He felt a sudden sadness. After everything we've been through, how close we got, and now we're back to the start.
Just then Quatre, Trowa, and Wufei walked into the house carrying large grocery bags. Quatre set his bags down on the counter in the small kitchenette and walked over to the two silent boys. “Hey guys. What's up?”
Duo just turned around, not even acknowledging Quatre, and walked into the bedroom, locking the door behind him. Finally alone, he collapsed on the bed. He let the tears fall freely, pouring out his misery with them. After a few minutes he slowly sat up. Things will have to change. He got up and started moving around the room, looking for things he knew he had. Where did I hide them…
*Heero's POV*
When the door shut Quatre blinked in surprise. “Is something going on?” Heero sat on the couch, grabbing the remote control, and flicked on the television. “No, nothing important.” Quatre moved back into the kitchenette and helped Trowa and Wufei put the groceries away. “I'm worried about him.” Heero said, “Don't be. I'll be keeping an eye on him.” From a safe distance.

*Duo's POV*
Duo took one last look in the mirror to make sure all of his weapons were properly hidden. No bulge appeared in his pockets from the small knives there, each in their separate leather sheaths. His long black sleeves hid a spring loaded dagger fixed on his forearm. He pulled his braid over his shoulder, inspecting it to make sure his lock picks were well hidden and secure. Just never know when you're gonna get locked up anymore. He left the bedroom, trying to get through the rest of the house as quickly as possible. This is becoming a habit. As he walked through he was stopped by Heero grabbing his wrist. “Where are you going?”
Duo stopped walking and rolled his eyes. “Out. I need a drink.”
Heero's eyes narrowed. “I don't think that's a good idea.”
Duo pulled his arm away. “Well, it doesn't matter what you think. I'm going.” He walked out of the house and down the path without even looking back. He could hear Heero follow him, could feel him. Fuck him. If he wants to follow, fine. I'll be sure to give him a show. I'll show him that I don't need his protection. I'm going out to play and tonight, I'm nobody's victim.
Duo followed the same route that he and Heero had taken the night before. He passed the bar they had stopped in and kept walking. He walked until he saw cracks in the pavement and spray paint on the walls. He looked around until he saw a bar with a blinking neon sign with two of it's letters missing. He smiled and headed inside. He scanned the bar for an easy target. As his eyes swept the bar he spotted a young blond who appeared to be about the same age as himself. He glided over to the boy and leaned against the bar. “Hey.”
The boy looked up, a bit startled, “Uh, hey.”
Duo called over the bartender. “Hi, could I get a Jack and Coke and, uh… Hey, do you want one.” The boy looked over as if he was totally surprised by the fact that Duo was even bothering to talk to him, much less offer him a drink. “Who me?”
Duo smiled at him. “No, the cute blond behind you.” He fought to suppress his laughter when the boy actually turned around to look. He put a hand on his shoulder, turning him back around. “Yeah, babe, I meant you.” The boy blushed a little. “Oh, uh, okay sure.” The bartender nodded and left to go get their drinks.
Out of the corner of his eye, Duo spotted Heero sitting down in a booth hidden in the shadows. He smiled. “So, what's your name, kid?” The boy laughed a little. “Like you're much older. I don't think you have much right to call me kid, so you had better call me Cole.” Duo smiled. So he does have a little fire in him. It complements his innocence so nicely. “My name's Duo, glad to meet you. Now, I was gonna open with `what's a nice kid like you doin' in a shit hole like this' but I really think you're far to good for that.” The boy blushed again and looked down at the bar. “Well, you'd be the first to think that.” He missed the flash of lust in Duo's eyes. Mmm… makes it that much more fun for me. Just then, the bartender came over with the drinks, setting one in front of each of them. Duo lifted up his glass for a toast. “To first times?” The boy smiled, lifting up his glass. “First times.”
*Heero's POV*
Heero glared at the two sitting at the bar. He had no worries about Duo being hurt by the blond but he didn't want him near Duo either. He knows that I followed him. He's trying to get to me. Heero signaled for a waitress to bring him another drink. He noticed that Duo was trying to get the blond drunk, judging by how he kept replenishing his drinks before he ever noticed they were empty. Duo, on the other hand, didn't seem to be drinking much at all. Hn, the kid probably thinks he's still on the first drink; a bottomless glass. He noticed how Duo kept reaching out and touching the kid in a seemingly casual manner, but his eyes suggested something else. He looked like a predator and this kid was his prey. What exactly is he trying to do here?
*Duo's POV*
Duo smiled at Cole as he signaled for the bartender to bring another drink. The blonds glass was looking a little empty. Can't have that, can we? The bartender placed the drink in front of Duo. Cole put down his drink to make some wild gesture with his hands, talking at a rate that would have long ago annoyed anyone but his present company. Duo kept his eyes on the boy and slid the drink across the bar to replace the empty glass. He grinned, still nursing his second drink. He rested his hand on the boys thigh and started rubbing in slow circles. Coles eyes fluttered closed as he involuntarily groaned. Duo smiled and leaned over. He whispered huskily in the blonds ear, “Why don't you finish that drink so we can get out of here?”
Coles emerald eyes, glazed and sparkling, struggled to focus. “And go where?” Duo inched his hand closer to the boys crotch. “Just someplace a little more… private.” Cole moaned and gripped the bar. Duo held up his drink. “Toast?” The boy stared blankly as it took a moment to register but he soon picked up glass and held it out. “What are we toasting to?” Duo smiled . “First times.” The boy blushed, averting his gaze, but after a moment looked back at Duo and smiled. “First times.” Before the glasses could touch Duo swooped in and captured the boys lips in a heated kiss. He looked out of the corner of his eye to try and see Heero's reaction. He deepened the kiss. There's practically steam coming off of his head! This is going to be fun. Duo broke the kiss and pulled the blond up and out of his chair. “Fuck the drinks. Let's go now.” The boy moaned, “Oh yeah. It's feeling way too crowded here.”
*Heero's POV*
Heero heard the glass in his hand begin to crack as he watched Duo and the blond kid get up and walk out of the bar. He wouldn't wait this time. He tossed some money on the table and went outside. He saw Duo get into a cab and rushed over. His stuck his arm in the door before it closed. “Mind if I share your cab? I doubt another one will come by.” The boy opened his mouth to speak but Duo interrupted him, “We don't mind.” Heero muttered a brief `thank you' before sliding in next to the blond. Duo leaned over to the driver and told him an address, then they were moving. Heero paid no attention to where they were going. His eyes were locked with Duo's as Duo petted and fawned over the blond boy between them. Duo smiled at him. Before he realized it, the cab had stopped and Duo and the blond had stepped outside. Heero casually got out and paid the driver. He looked around, taking in his surroundings. They were at a sleazy motel in the middle of nowhere. Duo led the blond into a room and closed the door behind them. Heero sat down on a cement divider in the parking lot and was only mildly surprised when Duo opened the curtains before leading the boy to the bed. He watched as Duo expertly coaxed the blond out of his clothes and tried to remember if he saw them go into the office to get a room key. This place seems so familiar. Have I followed him before? He suddenly regretted not taking Duo's lead and keeping the drinking to a minimum, as opposed to drinking more than he did the night before. But he could function well enough as he was. At least I hope so…
*Duo's POV*
Duo thanked his lucky stars that Heero had been too hurt to remember to have someone close his account on his often visited motel room. He managed to get all of the boys clothing off without losing any of his own attire. The boy just moaned and writhed under his touch. He slowly brought Coles hands up to the fake brass bed frame and locked his wrists above his head into the handcuffs that he kept there at all times. Heero should remember these. He's had to unlock me and drag my limp body to the bathroom more times than I can count.
Duo took one of his knives out of his pocket and unsheathed it. He pressed the cool steel against the boys slender neck. Coles eyes snapped open and he looked fearfully up at his now captor.
“Shh, don't worry baby,” Duo cooed. “We're just gonna play a little game.”
Cole tried to struggle against his bonds but lets face it, if Duo couldn't break out of those cuffs, this kid defiantly wasn't going to be able to. Duo used his free hand to unzip his fly and set loose his erection. The boys eyes went wide as Duo was suddenly above him and nestled in between his legs. He placed the head of his cock at the boys entrance. He leaned down and kissed the now terrified boy. Cole turned his head away. “Aww, don't do that. You were so into it a minute ago.” Duo grabbed his head, turning it back, and forced another, much less gentle, kiss on the boy. He whispered against his lips, “Just accept it. Be open to it. Then maybe you'll actually like it. But you should now, I'll do it either way.” He nudged into the boy a bit, causing him to cry out. Duo pressed the knife harder into his throat, effectively cutting off the noise. “Trust me, baby, just give in. I'll make you fly.” He quickly slammed his full length into the boy. Cole screamed. He jerked and twisted violently, crying and wheezing as he tried to get away. Duo growled and set a harsh pace, trying to make him bleed.
*Heero's POV*
Heero jumped up from the cement divide. What the fuck is he doing?! He was in an utter state of confusion when Duo started repeatedly hitting the boy in the face. Duo stopped and gripped the boys beautiful blond hair and pulled his hair back, baring his throat, showing the red line of blood forming there. Duo turned and looked out of the window, smiling, viciously raping the boy. He looked out and mouthed the words, `This wrong enough for ya, Heero?' Heero went cold. He's doing it all on purpose. He's trying to goad me into something. Well, I don't give a fuck! Drunk or not, I'm stopping this now. I can't let it happen, not because of me. How could he do that? After everything that's happened to him, how could he so easily----
*Duo's POV*
The door burst open and Heero stumbled into the room. “02, I order you to stop!”
Duo laughed and thrust harder. The boy wasn't even screaming anymore, just hoarsely sobbing. “This isn't a mission, 01. You can't order me to do anything.” Heero kicked the door shut. He pulled out his gun and walked to the bed, pointing the gun at Duo. Duo grinned and pushed the knife harder into Cole's throat, making more blood flow. The boy started to shake under him but he kept his eyes trained on Heero. “I wouldn't do that, Heero. I might slip and slit his pretty little throat.” Heero stood firm for a moment but then slowly lowered his gun. “What are your demands?” duo threw his head back and laughed again. “Demands? Are we negotiating now? Fine, here are my demands. Fuck me. Right here, right now. We'll lie next to Cole here so I can watch him curl up and cry.” Heero cringed in disgust. “Not a chance.”
Duo stopped smiling and said, “You don't have much of a choice. It's either that or I slit his fucking throat.” Heero visibly wavered. “I don't believe you.” Duo grew angry. “You didn't believe I'd shoot you either but I've proved there! This is not a fucking game, Heero!” Before he realized what was happening Heero lunged at Duo, knocking him off the bed. Cole screamed as Duo was ripped out of him. That probably hurt more than anything I did to him. Duo pushed Heero off of him easily and held up the knife in warning. Heero said, “How could you do this Duo? You know what it feels like. Why would you want to do that to someone?”
Duo said, “Were you under the impression that I'm a good person?”
“You seemed to be.”
“That's because I was trying to be. I tried to be a good person for you.”
“Well what happened?”
Duo growled, “What the fuck do you think happened?” Heero looked away. Duo continued, “I don't care anymore.”
“But this?” Heero protested.
Duo smiled. “Do you think this is the first time?” Heero froze. He looked confused, thrown off balance. “I was trying to be a good person for you. Before you came around I didn't much feel like being good. Not after everything I'd been through.” Heero still looked confused. “I don't understand.” Cole moaned, “Please, please let me go…” Heero turned and pointed his gun at the boy. “You've heard too much.” Duo stepped in quickly and grabbed the gun from Heero. “I think this gun has been involved in too many crimes lately.” Heero growled, “He's heard our names, seen our faces.” Duo smiled and looked down at Cole. “I don't think he'll tell anyone. The authorities would send him back home to his parents if he did.” He heard Heero shift behind him. “He's a runaway?” Duo's smile grew wider. “Yeah, and new to the streets. Not a life I would willingly choose. I had to teach him a lesson.” Duo turned back around to face Heero. “So, did you remember the keys?”
*Heero's POV*
Heero's gaze lingered on the broken boy shuddering in the bed. “Yes, I have them.” I always have them. Duo grinned. “Good. Unlock the cuffs and clean him up.” Heero approached the bed filled with dread and a sudden familiarity. I have to do this so often… “And what will you be doing?”
Duo was cleaning the blood off of the front of his pants with a small towel, staining it red, but stopped when Heero spoke. “I'll be cleaning blood out of the bed.” Heero nodded and slipped a small key out of his pocket. He unlocked the cuffs and Coles hands dropped to his sides. He moaned in pain when Heero gently lifted him off of the bed, just as gently as he had always done for Duo. He walked to the bathroom with the boy in his arms, stumbling a little bit in his inebriated state and carefully lay the boy down on the cold tiled floor. He went to the tub and turned the faucets, not bothering to check the temperature. He had memorized the settings a long time ago. While waiting for the bathtub to fill up, he wet a small washcloth and set to work on cleaning the boys face and the long cut on his neck. Thank God it's not any deeper. It could have been really bad. Might still scar. The situation, in combination with the alcohol he drank not too long ago, was giving him such a strong sense of déjà vu that he was beginning to get a bit confused as to what was going on. Blond hair, not brown, too short, no braid. Not Duo. Just hold on to that.
He lifted Cole again and lowered him into the tub, taking care not to let his head slip under the water. Having already taken care of the most serious cut, the one on his throat, Heero cleaned all the superficial scratches and lacerations he could find on the boy. Then he hesitated. He closed his eyes. I hate this. He took a deep breath, opened his eyes again, and parted the boys legs, murmuring an apology while he did. “I'm sorry, but I- I have to check.” The boy nodded, acknowledging that he understood. He bit his lip and hissed as Heero slid his fingers in to asses the damage. He cringed and pulled his hand back, causing a small stream of red to leak into the water, “It's not too bad. There is some tearing but it should heal in a few weeks.” The boy looked up at him. “Do you do this often? The, uh, cleanup I mean.” Heero nodded. “Yeah, I do. It's usually him I'm cleaning though.” Heero looked through the open bathroom door to Duo. He had finished stripping off the sheets and was at work scrubbing away the dark stain on the mattress. Heero turned back to the boy. Cole smiled a little, despite his current situation. “He doesn't deserve you, but he's lucky to have you.” Heero frowned. “He doesn't have me.” Cole looked confused. “But I thought—“ Heero cut him off. “He wants me, but he doesn't have me. I think that's why he did this. I'm sorry. It is my fault.” The boy looked away. “Oh.”
There was a moment of silence while Heero helped Cole climb out of the tub and dried him off. Then Cole spoke again. “Thank you for not killing me.”
“It was not my decision.”
Cole smiled. “But you still could have done it. You didn't have to listen to him, so, thank you. Besides, your friend was right. I won't tell anyone. I don't have anyone to tell.”
“You really are a runaway?”
“Huh, yeah. A spoiled little boy, run away from home. I didn't even last a week. Lesson learned.”
“What lesson is that?”
Duo cleared his throat. Heero turned to see Duo leaning against the frame of the bathroom door. “Never trust anyone, no matter how innocent they look.” His eyes drifted up and down, seeming to take in the scene of the two of them. Cole took a step back and hid his body behind Heero's. Duo walked over to them. “Look, kid, someone had to teach you and if it would have been anyone else you would be dead right now.” The boy snorted, “So, what? Should I be happy that I was raped by a guy my own age and he let me live? Is that somehow better than getting raped by a dirty old man and then being killed?”
*Duo's POV*
Duo growled and grabbed the boy by his wrist, yanking him away from Heero and towards himself. “Don't make me regret not letting Heero shoot you.” He pushed the boy out of the bathroom and back into the main room. “Heero has you standing so you must be fine. Your clothes are by the bed so get dressed and get out.” The boy hurried to do as he was told. Duo smiled and took some money out of his pocket and tossed on the floor near the clothes. “Oh yeah, here's some cash. Get used to feeling like a whore `cause unless you go back home to Mommy and Daddy that's all you'll ever be.” Cole gathered the money and stuffed it in his pockets. He looked at Heero. “Thanks again.” Heero nodded and said, “Remember, no matter what you think of me now, if you utter one syllable of what happened tonight I will find you and I will kill you.” The boy nodded. “I'll remember.” He turned and left the motel room, shutting the door behind him.
Duo sighed and gathered the sheets up that he had stripped off the bed and brought them into the bathroom. He slid past Heero and dumped all of them into the bathtub, which was still filled with blood tinted pink water. He left them there to soak and turned back around to Heero. “So, was it good for you too?”
Heero didn't move. He just stared off in the direction of the door. Duo grew impatient. “Heero?” No answer again. He walked over and grabbed Heero by the shoulder, spinning him around so they were facing each other. “Heero? You okay?” Heero just stared at him, almost as if he couldn't fully comprehend what was going on. He looked Duo over for a moment and said, “I'm sorry. I should not have had so much to drink. I am not myself.” Duo allowed a small portion of his concern show on his face. “How much did you drink?” Heero appeared to think for a moment then answered. “I'm not sure, more than I had yesterday.” Duo studied Heero's eyes. They were glassy and not really focused. “Do you want to go back to the house?” Heero pulled away and walked out of the bathroom. “No. It would be unacceptable for the other pilots to see me in this state.” Duo followed and asked curiously, “And what state is that?” Heero looked away. “I am drunk, confused, and unsure of the situation that I am.” Duo studied Heero for a moment. “So you want to sleep here tonight?” Heero looked around the room with obvious distaste. “I have no other options. This will have to do.” Duo walked over to the closet and took out the extra sheets, then set to work on putting them on the bed. When he finished he turned to Heero again. “You should sit.” Heero gave the bed a heated glare but then just sat down. Duo studied him again. He was slumped over, almost defeated looking. He is very talkative when he's been drinking. Maybe I should take advantage of that and try to find out what is going on in his head. He sat down on the bed very near to Heero. He softly asked, “Heero, what happened this morning?” Heero looked quickly up at Duo. “What do you mean?”
“What was going on in your head? Why were you acting like that? Why did you say those things to me?”
Heero looked down into his lap and seemed to be thinking. Duo was about to ask again when Heero spoke. “May I ask you something first?” Duo crossed his arms in front of his chest. “That really depends on the question” Heero looked up at him. Their eyes met. “I've told you about my training. You know why I am the way I am. I want to know about your past, why you are the way you are. I want to know you.”
Duo just stared for a moment, unsure of how to react. Heero wanted to know about him? But this is Heero we're talking about. He's most likely analyzing the situation so that he can plan his nest move. “Well, you gave me a basic outline of what happened to you. I guess it's only fair that I do the same. I don't remember ever having parents so, so I don't think about it much. I had a few people I looked up to but they all died. Mostly my fault. But I always survive. I'm still surviving.”
“I was alone most of the time, and I was real young. I leaned how to live in the harshest way a person can. Experience. I had to just take whatever happened to me until I learned how to defend myself. I taught myself how to fight and I taught myself how to kill. On the streets I learned how to cheat, steal, deceive and fuck. In sum, I'm not a good guy.” Sigh. “I liked you Heero. I love you. When I met you I tried to be a good guy. You weren't exactly receptive so I fell into a slump, got a little on the self-abusive side, but it was something. I needed something, anything, to keep my mind off of you. But it still hurt, it always hurt. But I'm sick of hurting Heero.” Heero looked away and nodded his head. “I understand.”
“Do you?”
Heero looked back up into Duo's eyes. “Yes, I do.”
Duo let his pain come to the surface and show through his eyes. “Then why do you keep hurting me? Why won't you just be with me?” Heero spoke softly and with the usual amount of feeling. “Sometimes, when you look at me, when I hold you, I want to forget everything. Everything I've learned, everything I know, everything that isn't you. You could very easily become the center of my universe.”
“Heero---“
Heero held up a hand to cut him off. “But I cant do that. We are very important people in this war. There will not be peace without us. I need to stay focused.” Duo leaned in closer and kissed Heero, slipping his tongue in before the other could think to fight it. Heero leaned into it at first but then pushed Duo away. Wait, we shouldn't be doing this. I've be doing this. I've been drinking. I---“ Duo slid his hand down Heero's pants and was expertly massaging his cock. He smiled. “I know. I'm taking advantage of that.” Duo kissed him again. He pushed him back onto the bed, just kissing him and rubbing his cock until Heero started to moan into his mouth and buck up against his hand. He pilled away from Heero and slid down the bed. He unfastened Heero's pants and slid them off, tossing them to the side. He played with Heero with one hand while he used the other to unbutton his own shirt. He looked at the boy lying on the bed. His eyes were closed and he was breathing heavily, his hips rocking back and forth with Duo's strokes. Duo smiled and kicked off his boots. He opened the nightstand drawer and took a bottle of lube from where it sat beside the motel edition of the bible and placed it on the bed, near Heero. He took a clean knife out of his pocket and placed it beside the lube. He stripped off his own pants and lay down on the bed next to Heero. He captured his lips, kissing him passionately. He returned the kiss with equal feeling. Duo reached over Heero's body and took the knife in hand. He slowly unsheathed it and slid the blade under Heero's shirt, cutting it away, effectively exposing all of the skin of his chest. Dropping the knife, he rolled over onto Heero and settled between his legs, and began grinding into him. Heero moaned into his mouth and unconsciously spread his legs farther apart. Duo groaned and felt around the sheets for the bottle of lube. Once he found it he leaned back a bit, popping the top open, and spread the lube over his rigid sex. He draped himself over Heero again, preparing to enter him, and said huskily, “Sorry for not preparing you better, but I really want his to hurt you.” He slammed into the tight sleeve without any further warning. Heero bit his lip and took it. He spread his legs as wide as he could, letting Duo penetrate him even further. He tightly gripped the sheets at his sides and brought his hips up to meet every one of Duo's thrusts. Their passion was quickly spent, Heero coming to completion first and Duo following soon after. Duo collapsed on top of him, losing consciousness without even bothering to pull out.
