~Last Chapter~

 

Just as Duo was getting ready to head to bed the first light of false dawn was coming over the horizon. If he had stayed to watch the sunrise to its true form and not to just get lost in thought he would have seen a car coming out of that horizon almost like it was running away from the sun. Then if he had waited to check out the car he would have seen a face he was coming to hate with a voice he knew all to well.

 

~Chapter 6~

 

All the pilots got up right around sun rise. Early habits from training that they never felt the need to break. Well all the pilots but Duo that is.

 

“Where's Duo?” asked Quatre

 

“Sleeping” said Wufei

 

“Still?” asked Quatre

 

“The baka didn't even come up the stairs till early this morning” said Wufei

 

The conversation was dropped there. They each had their own morning things to do. Quatre was making something that resembled breakfast, Trowa was helping him of course, Heero was fixing things that Duo and he could not finish the other day and Wufei was doing his stretches and morning exercise.

 

Quatre set the food to cook and went up stairs to check on Duo.

 

Trowa noticed that Quatre was gone and went after him.

 

~Upstairs~

 

Quatre was getting ready to knock on Duo's door when a fist on his arm prevented that from happening.

 

Turning around he saw Trowa who covered his mouth and pulled him into their room.

 

“What is this all about?” asked Quatre “Tell me why I can't go see Duo…..”

 

Quatre was silenced when Trowa kissed him thoroughly so that he knew Quatre would stay quiet for a little while after he was done.

 

“Now that I have your attention” started Trowa “I think you should leave Duo to his own things”

 

Quatre started to talk but Trowa was there yet again with his lips and proceeded to kiss Quatre with a little more heat this time so Quatre started to sag against Trowa.

 

“I know that's not the route that you want to take but Duo will come to us if he needs our help and if you go to him now he will not tell you anything. So please do this for me, leave him alone about this one” said Trowa

 

“Fine, for you I will. But if things get too much worse I will step in” said Quatre

 

“Thank you” said Trowa “Now let's head to breakfast”

 

Trowa gave Quatre a chaste kiss on the lips and slipped from the room.

 

“What a cock tease” said Quatre

 

 

 

Duo did not get up till later that afternoon when the pilots were getting lunch together.

 

“Hey Duo decide to join the living today I see” said Quatre

 

“Yeah, lunch ready yet? I'm starving” said Duo

 

“If you had gone to bed at the proper time you not have missed breakfast and there for not be as hungry” said Heero

 

“So I stayed up a little later then normal. Who's it gonna kill?” asked Duo

 

“Hn” said Heero going back to fixing his current project

 

“Filling the word quota early today I see” said Duo

 

Heero just keep what he was doing not even registering what Duo had said.

 

“Here's your food” said Quatre

 

“Thanks man!” said Duo who proceeded to stuff his face

 

For a little while all you could hear what Duo who continued to eat. Occasionally you could hear Heero tinkering around with whatever he was fixing.

 

“So what are the plans?” asked Duo

 

“Rest up and prepare for the next mission” said Wufei

 

“In other words be board out of my mind for at least the next day” said Duo

 

“You could always help Heero fix things around here” said Quatre

 

“I think my time could better be spent doing something besides ticking off Heero all day” said Duo

 

“I'm sure there are things that you could find away from him” said Quatre

 

“Naw, it's ok. I'll just annoy Wufei” said Duo with an evil smile

 

“You will refrain from annoying me Maxwell” said Wufei

 

“Yes sir!” said Duo

 

 

The rest of the day was probably as expected. Duo got really board and a board Duo is not a good thing. Duo proceeded to annoy all of the pilots one by one.

 

First Duo went after Heero. He would sing off tune loudly, then become very quiet and just be there trying to scare Heero when he least expected it. Then he would hand Heero all of the wrong tools on purpose when Heero asked for a tool. Then Duo went back to singing.

 

Finally Heero snapped. Duo was back to the singing and he propped himself up against the wall. Heero stopped what he was doing and punched the wall right by Duo's head. Duo stopped singing and just stared at Heero waiting for the final blow.

 

“The next time I will not hit the wall but your head. So if you do not go away I will be forced to take matters into my own hands” said Heero

 

“OK buddy! I'll just go get a snack” said Duo running from Heero

 

Duo was running in the opposite direction of the kitchen but he did not really care. As long as he got away that was all that mattered.

 

Duo ran into Quatre who was reading a book on one of the chairs in the living room.

 

“Hey man, I think I just saw my life pass before my eyes. And ya know, it was very short” said Duo

 

Quatre just laughed and stopped his reading “annoy Heero too much again?”

 

“Yeah, he said if I didn't leave he would punch my face in. Didn't really wanna take him up on the offer so I split” said Duo

 

“Why not go work on Deathscythe?” asked Quatre

 

“Eh, I could. Maybe later” said Duo who went off to find someone else

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A few days passed and no mission came for anyone. To top things off they were starting to get on each others nerves. They finally each had to go to a separate place in the house to get away from each other for a little while.

 

 

*Beep!*

*Beep!*

 

All of a sudden all of their lap tops started going off with missions. They all had to go and infiltrate what was thought to be an OZ head quarters.

 

They each got their jobs and then got ready to leave.

 

`This is my chance. I can't blow it' thought Duo `Solo, this has got to be the place where that rat bastard is. I promise, I'll get him this time. This time he's mine'
