Most of them have characters based on my friends...In this one Ace is based on a good friend of mine...Hehe. I think i captrued her pretty well! (Don't you think so, Nicole? lol) Well anyway, here it is! hope y'all like it!
21, A.C. 197~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

She was a typical girl, of American decent. Her skin was not quite tan, not quite pale. Her hair was a dark brown, and if you were to look at her in dim light, it would appear black. It was long, about down to her slim waistline. She had it half pulled back in a red ribbon tied into a perfect bow. Her eyes were abnormally hazel, a mixture of blue, brown and green, they appeared as if they were burning with a dark secret that resided in the depths of her soul. A dusting of freckles adorned her dainty nose. Dainty, however, was not a word most people would use when describing her...
At that moment, she was crawling through a dark air vent in an old abandoned warehouse on Earth. She moved as quietly as a mouse, but with the grace of a cat. She moved through the metal tunnel with a tiny pen light gripped in her teeth with an excited, michevious smile. With every opening she passed, she peered down quietly, looking for something interesting to loot. Then she noticed she didn't need the light any more. Up ahead a few yards, a dim light shone through the vent opening. More stealthely than ever, she approched the vent. As she got closer, she could hear voices. Two men. She looked through the vent, but was blinded by the bright light. As she sheilded her eyes and adjusted to the light, she made out the words:

"...and no one must know."

As her eyes adjusted, at first she could'nt believe what she saw. But it was real. The floor if this room seemed three times the depth of the normal rooms, as if it was buried deep inderground. The two men stood beneath five towering machines. All looked similar. They were giant robots, but not just any giant robots...She knew what these were! But they could'nt be...could they? Her mind thought, "Oh my God." ...And her mouth said it too. Realizing her mistake, she covered her mouth, but it was too late. The men stopped talking. They looked up at the vent she was hiding in. One man, a very short one with very big, very gray hair and a long, hawk nose reached into his white lab coat and produced a small black object. BANG! A beam of light shot through the dark vent like a deadly lazer. BANG BANG BANG! Three more rays of light through tiny holes in the metal. Her catlike grace left her completely as she scrambled to get out of the way. Suddenly she felt the thin metal drop out from under her. She literally hit the floor running. Luckily she had made it far enough into the vent that she fell in a hallway. More men were chasing her now. The freaky gray man appeared in an elevator door just as she passed and yelled to the men.
let her leave this place alive!!"

In the middle of nowhere, on the same Earth, aside a long stretch of dusty yellow road, was a little 'auto repair shop-slash-junkyard', as three boys and girl had affectionately dubbed their home. Right outside the 10 foot wood fence, a scrawny, smiling boy stood up on a ladder welding a huge pile of scrap metal together, which if you moved away a bit, resembled a giant black robot with a scythe made from a melted rake. The sun was setting. Noticing movement below him, he removed his welder's mask revealing his deep violet eyes. Below him stood a girl dressed in a short, black dress. Her short black hair was pulled back with a sparkling hair clip, replacing her usual pink beret. Hilde!," The boy cried,"Where you going with all that makeup on?"

She looked up at him. "What're you? My father?" She mocked. "I'm going out."
where?" He pryed.

Hilde sighed. "On a date Duo!"
Whaaaa!?"
almost fell off his ladder. He regained his ever-present cool and brushed himself off. "Well if you woulda told me earlier I coulda dressed for it!" brushed off the comment as a battered looking vehicle came into view down the road. "Here he comes!" Hilde sqealed.
Duo climbed off the ladder to investigate. The old beater stopped in front of them, the bass of the stereo inside shook the ground. Inside was a unshaven guy with a tatoo of a flaming skull on his muscular shoulder. "Oh, this is nice..." muttered. As Hilde got inside, he yelled over the thundering bass,"Hey Hilde! Make sure not to loose your panties under the seat again! With a skirt that short you'll be flashin' people all the way home!"
As the car sped away, squealing it's tires, Hilde flipped him the finger out the window. Duo ran out to the road and vainly threw a rock at the speeding vehicle. "Fine! Go!"
was green with jealousy.

Since the end of the war, Duo and Hilde were living with two other guys in their repair shop home, and had grown farther apart the closer together they were. They fought like siblings and Duo had had more than one vase or plate thrown at him.

Duo turned to the hunk of welded scrap metal behind him. He smiled again. He had been working on this for two months now. "Almost done!" he said, grabbing a piece of plywood leaning on the fence. He carefully climbed the ladder again and gently placed it in the robot's arms. He jumped off the ladder and stood back to look at it. The sign read, 'Maxwell's Garage' in messy orange spraypaint.

"There!," Duo beamed, "I call it: A Tribute to Deathscythe!" He glanced down the road. A dirt bike was speeding in his direction. Duo didn't give it a second thought and went inside the fence and closed the huge wooden gate.

Unknown to Duo, there was a green jeep chasing the dirtbike. Three men were in it. One was driving and the other two were shooting at the bike. The girl mounted on the bike looked franticlly for a place to hide. Up the road a ways she saw a huge wood fence. "There!" she smiled as she accelerated, her long dark hair blowing behind her. Concentrating on her destination and dodging bullets, she made for the fence. When she got close enough, she jumped off the bike and made for the gate. She pounded vainly "Open up!!! Open up!!!!"
Duo heard the commotion, and was standing a few feet away from the fence.

The girl saw the ladder next to her and scrambled up the pile of scrap metal.

Duo walked over towards the gate curiously.

Just then, he looked up to see something flying over the fence and...Right on top of him.

"Aaak!!" Duo was flattened. The girl sitting on him looked around franticlly. Her eyes rested on Duo and she smiled sympathetically. "Thanks for breaking my fall!" She chimed. Duo opened his mouth to yell, when she suddenly had him upright, her hand covoring his mouth. "Shh!"
The men chasing her had come to the gate "Open up or we'll shoot!!" one yelled.

"Over here!" she whispered, dragging Duo behind a pile of tires.
We're gonna count to three and if you dont come out...." The girl reached into the messenger bag she was carrying, pulled something out and bit it. looked afraid. "Thats a-!" "Shh!" She cut him off.
With that, the girl hurled the item over the wood fence and there was a brief moment of tense silence. ".......GRENADE!" They heard the men yell outside. "RUN AWAYY!!"
BOOM!
The two inside listened. "Oh no!" they heard outside. "The car! The guns!" was a long pause. "...W-we'll be back!...and ...We're gonna borrow this bike!"
After a few minutes, they heard the bike motor putting away with difficulty. The girl broke out into a fit of hysterical laughter. "Whew! That was exciting!" She laughed. Duo just stared at her. shook his head. "Hey who are you?!"
sorry!" The girl wiped her eyes and held out her hand. "Annika Colette Eledeen. Codename: Ace! Former undercover operative for the colonial millitary. And you are...?"
Duo reached out to shake her hand, and swiftly had her hands behind her back. "Duo Maxwell, about to turn you in for whatever it is you did!"
No! Wait! I didn't do anything! I swear!" She whined as Duo tied her hands together with a piece of rope he found on the ground.
sure. Thats what they all say." Duo mocked.

"No! Please! Just hear me out OK?"
listening." Duo said as he secured her to the flagpole.
took a deep breath. "Ok. I was bored and missed my job in the millitary. So I decided to sneak into an old warehouse in the middle of nowhere to see what I could find...and, um...maybe take. And I didn't expect to find anything, but there was a bunch of army guys and a really freaky looking old guy in a labcoat."

Duo's eyes widened with every word she said.
they were in a room with 5 HUUUGE giant robots. They kinda looked like that thing outside the fence that's now a smoldering pile of ash!" She chimed.

Duo shook his head. "WHAA?!" He ran outside the fence and looked at his masterpiece. Sure enough, It was, in fact, a smoldering pile of ash. "Noooooooooo!"

He ran up to Ace "DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO MAKE THAT!?"
smiled. "Woah! Relax!"

Duo held his breath for a moment, and recollected himself. "You saw Deathscythe?"
that what it's name is? Well I'm no expert on Mobile Suits, but it did look a lot like a Gundam."

Duo thought a moment. "You have to take me there! I have to see-"
they heard loud motors coming towards them. "It's them!" Ace panicked. "You gotta untie me!"
hastily started to untie her. "Listen, uh.. you stall them. Tell them...I...escaped and ran into the desert on one of your stolen bikes or something!"
ran away, leaving Duo in the dust to fend for himself.

Ace ran inside with her bag. She ran upstairs, frantiacally looking for a place to hide when she ran past a room that looked a little more girly than the rest. "Oh! perfect!" She ran inside and closed the door. She ran up to Hilde's mirror and took down a strip of pictures of her and Duo that were taken in a photo booth. "Hm...So he has a girlfriend does he?"

Duo nervously greeted the the army in the road.
young man. Have you seen a girl around here?"

Duo nodded in his duoish way and said, "Yeah, I've seen a lot of 'em. You lookin' for one in particular?"

"Funny kid. Now tell us where she is. We know shes been here."

"Oh, yeah she um... stole my uh, motorcycle and uh, drove off somewhere."

The men in the hummer looked at each-other. "Mind if we take a look around?"
uh guess soo..." Duo looked around for something to stop them with. It was useless. Five men got out of the car and headed towards the house. "No! Really! She left! A long time ago!"

They all arrived at the doorstep, Duo facing them trying to find a way to distract them. "Seriously! You gotta go catch-"

The door opened. "Can I help you gentlemen?"

Duo turned around, wondering what to expect. "H-Hilde!?" Hilde stood at the door, with a dish and rag in hand.
of the men flashed a badge and nodded. "Ma'am, were from the government. Mind if we take a look around?"

"Oh, not at all!" She chirped in a high-pitched, French accent. She looked at Duo standing there, confused with his mouth gaping. She winked at him and moved her contact lens to the side flashing her fiery eyes as the men passed her and entered the house. As the men dispersed into various rooms of the house, Duo looked at the mischevious girl in the beret.
You wear contacts?"

Ace pulled a tuft of dark brown hair from under her hat. "It's me you stooge!" He blinked for a second. "...Is that you, Ace?"

"Ugh!" She slapped her hand to her forehead.

"Well, we've searched the whole house." Came the policeman from around the corner.
Ace and Duo stood at attention.
check out. Please call if you her from her again."

"Oh yes sir!" She said. "I do hope you catch her...how you say, fast!"

"The policeman removed his hat and blushed. "Thank ya ma'am. We sure will try!"
that they were out the door. Ace grimaced. "Eew...Military intellegence certainly is slipping."

So how is it so far? Do you like Ace? Tell me! please R & R. ~*~
