Note: About that little addition to the Zechs and Duo
pairing, I felt that the others could use a bit of
romance to...spice things up so to speak.
~Wild Thang - Part 15~
"Well, now that we know who is behind all this, what
do we do with him?" Treize asked.
"Kill him?" Wufei suggested, almost gleefully.
"Too messy. They'll be bound to notice." Dorothy
informed him.
"Then what can we do?" Heero asked.
Quatre and Dorothy looked at each other.
"Well?" Zechs asked, impatiently. "Duo's life is at
stake and you hesitate?"
"It's a possibility, if you want it to be, but it's
purely up to you guys." Quatre replied.
"We can create a spell that lets everyone think that
Howard is walking around and doing stuff, but we can
kill him. We can then fake his illusional death and
then everyone will be happy." Dorothy stated.
"But he must be made as an example to those that wish
to harm Duo!" Trowa argued.
"We need to get to the root of the problem. Then,
this incident will die out." Dorothy stated calmly.
"But what if Howard's illusional death have them
accuse me even more?" Duo asked, frightened.
Zechs wrapped his arms around Duo in comfort.
"Do not worry yourself. We will take care that you
will not be suspected." Dorothy replied, smiling
warmly.
"You'd better." Zechs growled protectively.
With Heero holding Howard, Quatre casted an
invisibility spell over him so that no one will know
who Heero's dragging along. Quatre had set the spell
to dissolve upon reaching 100 meters from the village
gates. Wufei accompanied Heero to dish out justice.
Zechs wanted to join them, but decided that he should
be with Duo and that Duo shouldn't see the destruction
of his enemy, no matter how right that would be.
Quatre and Dorothy casted the spell to make it seem
that Howard Noventa is still around. Together with
Treize, they plotted the perfect way of killing the
fake off without pointing fingers at Duo.
Now only Trowa, Relena, Zechs and Duo remain in that
room.
"If we're lucky, those of the Ellipse will find that
Howard failed by seeing Duo alive and well and will
kill him for us." Trowa said.
"I don't understand such prejudice." Relena sighed.
"Perhaps I never will."
"Don't be so hard on yourself imouto, we can't always
understand our fellow man." Zechs informed her.
"Zechs." Duo said, hesitantly.
"What is it?" Zechs asked, his full attention on Duo.
Duo flushed, "I... Well...since I can always read my
mother's records here, I want to learn about my
father. I want to see if he is really a faerie. I
need to know. I want to go find him."
"You want to search the vast jungle and search for
your father that may be dead?" Trowa asked in
disbelief.
"Hai. If he is truly a faerie, he will have
survived." Duo said.
"But what if he died in his grief over the loss of
your mother?" Relena asked. "It's obvious that you
don't understand human emotion."
"And you do?" Trowa asked, arching a brow at her.
"I have studied it, so to speak. Or else I wouldn't
be such a fine spokesperson." Relena retorted.
"Enough!" Zechs commanded. "I wish to accompany Duo
in his search for his father."
Trowa frowned, "This will have to be brought to the
attentions of the elders."
"Why?" Duo asked.
"Because you are a citizen of the village." Trowa
replied.
"Iie. He is a citizen of the jungle. He doesn't
abide by the rules of the elders." Zechs argued.
"I see there was some miscommunication." Relena
stepped in. "You were suppose to find the two boys
and bring them back to become part of the village once
more."
"Heero never told me that!" Zechs spat.
"Well, that was the goal. We never expected the
younger of the two to be so cautious about going back
to the village." Trowa said.
"So what now? Do we go and appeal to the elders?"
Zechs sneered.
"Oniisan!" Relena gasped. "Why are you so angered?"
"Because had you told me, I wouldn't have brought Duo
back." Zechs replied.
"Why?" Duo asked, looking up at Zechs.
"Because you are meant to be free. You shouldn't have
to return and stay in the village that wished to
destroy you." Zechs replied tenderly.
"It was only the jealous admirers." Trowa said.
"Yeah? Well, as far as I can see, the one who weren't
jealous did NOTHING to stop them." Zechs growled.
"What was done is in the past. I want to find my
father. Regardless of what the elders say." Duo
informed them.
"Then after breakfast, we shall consult the elders."
Trowa said firmly.
"Demo..." Zechs said.
"Iie. He was a citizen once, if you feel that way.
He was born here, not out there. So, he's a citizen.
He must abide by the rules." Trowa stated. "All who
wish to travel out into the jungle must ask
permission."
Zechs frowned, but defeated. Together, they went to
breakfast.
