AN: Sorry about the long wait for an update, I broke my wrist while falling off a ladder at work trying to change the gas price sign. I have my cast off because it was not a bad break, but I do still have to wear this evil brace. So yeah that was why it took so long. I had no real inspiration to do any typing after that incident. My boyfriend decided to make fun of me for it all though. Hopefully you all forgive me my absence and don't hate me.

ϿAltered DestinyϾ
Chapter One: The Burrow
“Hurry up Brittany!” A male yelled up the stairs of a mansion. He had sky blue eyes and dyed jet black hair. His hair was soft enough that it fell into place naturally. He was wearing a simple black tee-shirt, as well as a pair of ripped jeans.
“I'm coming you jerk!” A soft female voice declared finally appearing at the top of the stair case. Brittany had soft auburn colored hair held up in a high pony tail, and her eyes were a deep chocolate, almost black. She was wearing a pretty red sundress and had on strappy red sandals.
“We've got to go!” The male whined as Brittany reached the bottom step.
“Oh cool your horses Mitchell. It's not like they are leaving until tomorrow anyways. We're spending the night over there dip shit!” Brittany shot back the sweet and innocent demeanor gone.
“Let's just go.” Mitchell sighed while rolling his eyes in annoyance.
The two walked across the living room to a fireplace. Standing side by side you could tell they were identical twins, yet polar opposites of one another from their attitudes. Brittany smiled kindly where as Mitchell tended to smirk a whole lot. Brittany was generally quite, where as Mitchell was loud. The exceptions being when Brittany was angry, and or given caffeine.
Brittany was the first one to take some of the floo powder into her hands and stepped into the Fireplace. In a strong and clear tone she yelled out. “The Burrow.”
Mitchell followed suit. “The Burrow.” He declared loudly.
Both teenagers arrived at a very strange house indeed. There were dishes magically washing themselves, that odd clock the showed who was home and who was out. It was quite strange to see everyone standing around waiting for them in the living room. Harry and Draco had arrived the night before after visiting their own families. Fred and George were looking around for some reason. Ron was busy arguing with Hermione over something, Bill and Mr. Weasley were at work, while Mrs. Weasley was heard from in the kitchen.
“Hey Brittany where's your hot sister?” Fred asked confused.
“She's off somewhere again.” Brittany sighed.
“Too bad. We were hoping to catch up with her.” George replied.
“Sure you were.” Mitchell snickered.
They two males were loath to glare at him due to his many instances of anger especially concerning either of his sisters, especially Brittany.
“Hey Brittany long time no see.” Ron called out.
“Yeah I was busy training with my sensei for martial arts. It is really a good stress relief.” Brittany smirked.
“Yeah, and I have had the beating to prove it.” Mitchell complained.
Ginny chuckled. “Poor Mitchell.”
Mitchell just glared at her. “Hey Ron, is my stuff still in the spare room?” He asked after a moment.
“Yeah, so is Brittany's. Last time you two were here you shared the spare bedroom, are you doing the same tonight?” He asked concerned.
“Of course not!” Mrs. Weasley declared finally coming into the room. “She's rooming with Hermione and Ginny.”
“I don't mind sharing a room with Mitchell.” Brittany smiled. “Besides, he'd just try and drag me off to his room later. Without Mr. Snuggles, the poor thing is a wreck.” Brittany laughed. “Unless I'm there.”
“Brittany.” Mitchell growled in a dangerous tone.
“Oh, go get ready to play Quidditch with the boys.” Brittany sighed.
“Not before I get you for insulting my Mr. Snuggles.” Mitchell hissed.
Brittany quickly jumped behind Harry and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Save me Harry.” She whispered.
Draco and Mitchell both glared at Harry angrily as he tried not to blush. Brittany stuck her tongue out at her brother and laughed. Brittany turned around and ran up to Ginny and enveloped her in a bear hug. Soon after she gave Hermione a less bone crushing hug and smiled at the two.
“I'm going to go and get ready then Britt.” Mitchell declared going in to hug his little sister.
“I do not trust you!” Brittany declared. “Stay away from me or Mr. Snuggles will get it.”
Mitchell backed off and walked upstairs to the spare bedroom. “You're still sleeping in here with me though.” He laughed.
“Whatever.” Brittany sighed.
“Hey Brittany are you going to play with us?” Draco asked Brittany as she set about looking for a book to read.
“No, I am going to do some reading for a while.” Brittany sighed. “Harry did I leave that book at your house when I visited?”
“I don't think so.” Harry replied. “I thought you took it home with you?”
“Maybe I did.” Brittany shrugged. “I thought maybe I left it there because I checked all over the house back home.”
“Wait when were you at Harry's?” Hermione asked Brittany, quite interested.
“About a week ago. Harry and I have been owling all summer and he was wondering if I would somehow get his cousin to back off.” Brittany smirked.
“By that look I know you did.” Ron rolled his eyes. “You have a problem with minding your own business Brittany.”
“I know.” Brittany sighed. “But Harry asked me to, so I had permission this time.”
“Hey she did get Dudley off my back.” Harry declared.
“How'd she do that?” Fred and George asked also interested.
“It's a secret.” Brittany laughed. “Let's just go outside, I'll just watch you guys.”
The boys al nodded and proceeded to go outside for the day. Mitchell soon joined them, and it was a game of three on three. Harry was having a grand old time trying to play chaser, while Fred and George seemed to be naturals. Mitchell was also doing fairly well with the entire thing. It was funny to see everyone but Ron and Draco out of their element.
Brittany was laughing from the stands. Ginny and Hermione were with her and they were all just talking together happily. “So what have you been doing all summer Hermione?” Ginny asked.
“Studying.” Hermione admitted sheepishly.
“Are you serious?” Both girls sighed.
“You need to have some fun sometimes. Or else you are going to end up snapping and end up going crazy.” Brittany warned.
“I do have fun.” Hermione sighed.
“Like what?” Ginny asked skeptical.
“I like reading because it is fun to me.” Hermione defended.
“Well you've got me there, so long as you read novels too, not just study.” Brittany smirked.
“I do read novels too.” Hermione huffed.
“Hey girls, watch this!” Mitchell called out to them.
The three girls turned to watch Mitchell do some sort of trick. Unfortunately Draco decided that impressing the girls was not something Mitchell was allowed to do. So he proceeded to fly over to Mitchell and snatch the Quaffle from him.
“Nice one Mitchell!” Brittany laughed.
“Your brother is really strange.” Hermione sighed.
“Tell me about it.” Brittany grumbled.
“Well he,” Ginny started with a smile on her face.
“I didn't mean that literally!” Brittany exclaimed.
“He's been annoying you this past summer huh?” Hermione laughed.
“Ever since Cedric and I decided to be just friends he's been constantly around me. I guess he just does not want a guy to `hurt' me again. Even though it was a mutual break up last year.”
“He loves you.” Ginny stated simply.
“Duh, he's my brother. He's family, and we'll always love each other like family. He, Sondra, and I are triplets were close as close can get. Just like Fred and George.” Brittany explained.
“Well whatever it is the boys are coming down now.” Hermione sighed. “So let's go.”
Brittany waved them off and told them to go on ahead. She stayed behind to wait for the guys. Once they had all touched down, Brittany noticed they were all very sweaty and decided hugging her brother was not such a good idea. She smiled at the boys and just walked with them back over to the house.
“So who won?” Brittany asked.
“We did!” Draco and Ron cheered, Harry just smiled.
“That's good I was hoping my brother would get some humility beaten into them.” Brittany teased.
“I still don't see why you didn't want to play.” Fred told her.
“Yeah, Diggory did an excellent job in training you.” George elaborated.
“The teams would have been uneven. Duh!” Brittany laughed. “At least I can count.”
The boys chuckled at her childlike insult and watched her smile away. She decided to walk next to Harry, despite her brother offering to give her a piggy back ride. She smiled at him as they walked side by side.
“So what did you do that made that brat leave Harry alone?” Ron asked again.
“I'm not telling you that.” Brittany smirked. “If you want to know ask Harry.”
“So Harry…” Ron began.
“I'm not telling you either.” Harry stated a small blush was seen on his cheek.
“You're both no fun.” Ron grumbled.
Draco and Mitchell were both busy glaring at Harry, while Fred and George were laughing at the scene. It was funny seeing one girl surrounded by so many guys, and she was honestly oblivious to the fact that four of the six were attracted to her.
Once everyone had returned to the house Brittany heard Bill's voice and charged at him. The eldest of the Weasley sons was quite happy to see Brittany could still be as energetic as ever. After running over to him, Bill gave his surrogate sister a twirl in the air before setting her back onto her feet. She was still quite light weight for a nearly seventeen year old.
“Are you coming with us to the Quiditch World Cup?” Brittany asked excitedly.
“Yes, but not just me.” Bill stated mysteriously.
There was a crack, like someone had apparated, and low and behold another Weasley entered the room. There before her stood Charlie as well. Brittany held in her squeal of delight. But on the inside she was doing a happy dance.
“There she is. I was wondering if you were going to be here.” Charlie laughed.
He walked over to her in two long strides and enveloped her in a bone crushing hug. Brittany just smiled like a little kid at Christmas. Bill and Charlie were basically her big brothers. She in turn was like a little sister to them.
“So are you ready to watch Ireland cream Bulgaria.” Charlie asked not just Brittany, but everyone.
Suddenly there seemed to be a huge argument over who was going to win, and who was going to lose. It was quite interesting to watch. Brittany slunk away to go and read one of her other books she had purposefully left at the Weasley's. Just in case she ever misplaced one of her other favorite books.
Harry had gone upstairs to talk to Brittany about what had gone on since she had left. He was surprised that Brittany, was so oblivious to anything that involved her, but understood things that did not directly affect her. Harry had reached the spare bedroom, only to find Brittany missing. He looked around and found out the she had jumped out the window and was sitting in a tree reading.
Harry smiled as he passed his friends who were still discussing Quidditch in the living room. Harry approached Brittany, who immediately marked the page in her book. She jumped out of the tree and landed right in front of him. Harry jumped a little at her landing so close to him.
“You know, you should be used to that by now Harry.” Brittany teased.
“Yeah, well it's still a little shocking when you land right in front of my face.” Harry stated hiding a blush before taking a step backwards.
“Poor Harry, still scared of my antics huh?” Brittany smiled. “It scared your cousin even worse though.”
“Dudley has decided that if you ever visit again, he's going to stay over at a friends house.” Harry told her with mirth shinning through his green eyes.
“Good, that fat lump needs someone to scare the piss out of him.” Brittany smirked. “And I do not mind being the one to do it.”
“Hey Brittany, your brother's whining about needing you or something.” Ron's voice was heard coming from the burrow.
“Coming.” Brittany called.
Harry and Brittany walked into the house. Just as soon as they entered Mitchell pounced on Brittany. She rolled her eyes and they both went up to the spare bedroom. It was time for everyone to go off to bed because they would need to be up very early the next morning.
“Mitchell wake your lazy ass up!” Brittany yelled out to her snoring brother.
Unfortunately Mitchell was unwilling to awaken before the ass crack of dawn. So Brittany decided that Bill and Charlie should drag him down the stairs. In doing so Mitchell managed to slip from their grip and still remain sleeping when he reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Wow.” Was the response from everyone minus Brittany.
She in turn sighed and looked around. “Ron could you get me a bucket of cold water?”
“Why?” He asked suspiciously.
“The less you know the better.” Brittany turned and faced everyone. “It's best you all wait outside. You won't want to be around when he wakes up.”
“So what are you doing?” The twins asked quite intrigued.
“Let's just saying I'm pulling a Sondra, and that's the most I am going to say on the subject.” Brittany stated firmly.
Ron arrived with the bucket of ice cold water per Brittany's request. “Here you go. I think I know what you are going to do.”
“Then you know why everyone needs to get out.” Brittany responded grimly.
Ron ushered everyone outside, while Brittany set everything up. She left the door wide open, moved everything out of her path, and then picked up her weapon. She walked up to her brother, still sleeping, and stopped three feet away.
“You'll thank me for this later.” Brittany declared. “I hope.” On the count of three. One. Two. THREE!
With that Brittany threw the cold water at her brother closely followed by the bucket. In one fluid motion she continued to spin around and begin racing out of the house as a girlish shriek rang out from behind her.
“EVERYBODY MOVE!” Brittany yelled out as she began racing away from the Burrow.
Mitchell was on her tail in an instant, dripping wet, and pissed as all get out. “YOU BITCH!”
Brittany shrieked this time as her brother began closing in on her. She pushed herself faster. Everyone else made their way behind the two at a normal human pace. Finally as Brittany and Mitchell were closing in on the designated sight for the Portkey, they spotted Sondra, their younger sibling.
Sondra was just sitting by the Portkey calmly looking around, when she heard her brother's yells and her sister's screams. She rolled her eyes as she turned and looked towards them.
Sondra's calm face became very cold and very stern. Her voice was calm and forceful when she declared. “Mitchell, sit.”
Without even blinking Mitchell stopped in his tracks and sat down immediately. Brittany ran over to her sister and gave her a hug while repeating `Thank you,' over and over. Sondra just ignored the two and continued looking around with a look of deep thought on her face.
Soon enough Cedric and his father came up the side of the hill opposite that of the side Brittany and Mitchell had arrived from. Mitchell held in a growl as Cedric came up and gave Brittany a big hug, which she returned.
“Good to see your able to wake up so early, unlike others.” Brittany smirked.
“Mitchell gave you a hard time huh?” Cedric laughed.
“He chased me from the Burrow. So yeah he gave me a hard time.” Brittany laughed.
“So have you found the Portkey?” Amos Diggory asked.
“Yup.” Sondra stated her eyes never leaving a raggedy old boot.
“Figures that you'd be able to find it so fast.” Mitchell complained.
“Oh be quite.” Brittany grumbled.
â—ŠMitchell, sit, stay.â—Š Sondra told him telepathically.
â—ŠI hate you.â—Š Mitchell shot back.
â—ŠQuite you attention whore.â—Š Brittany sighed.
Both Mitchell and Sondra glare at Brittany. â—ŠWhat?â—Š
Neither responds, within a few minutes everyone else came up over the hill huffing and puffing like no tomorrow. Sondra, Brittany and Mitchell were all facing the other way. As soon as the twins spotted Sondra, they attacked.
Brittany was shoved to the side as the twins mercilessly smother Sondra. Sondra held in a whimper, but Brittany had no problem letting one out do to her rough encounter with the ground and her backside.
“Amos!” Mr. Weasley called out to the man standing by the triplets and Cedric. The rest of the group followed.
They all chatted for a while. When Mr. Weasley looked at his watch he announced that it was nearly time. “Everybody touch the Portkey, just a finger will do.”
With difficulty, due to their bulky backpacks, the fifteen of them crowded around the old boot held by Amos Diggory. They all stood their in a tight circle as a chill breeze swept over the hilltop. Nobody spoke. They all stood there clutching the manky old boot in the semidarkness waiting.
“Three...two…one.” Mr. Weasley counted down.
Immediately the feeling like a hook just behind navel had been suddenly jerk irresistibly forward. They sped forward in a howl of wind and swirling color. Their forefingers stuck to the boot, as though it was pulling them magnetically onward. Then they finally hit the ground.
Mr. Weasley, Mr. Diggory, and Cedric, and Brittany, who was attached to Cedric via a death grip on his waist, were still standing, looking very wind swept. The rest were on the ground quivering, minus Sondra, who was on all fours heaving.
“There goes her breakfast.” Mitchell smirked, “There's her last dinner, oh now lunch…”
“Can it Mitchell.” Brittany hissed, still gripping Cedric for dear life.
Mitchell looks up at his sister and just as he is about to open his big mouth Sondra interrupts between heaving. “Rollover.”
Mitchell does as commanded, and everyone starts laughing. Mitchell glared at the dirt with whom he was making great friends. Finally a voice was heard over the laughter.
“Seven fast five at Stoatshead Hill.” The voice stated.
