Inuyasha woke up to see the Sun setting over the mountains. He looked down at the warmth that rested on his chest. Kagome was sleeping soundly against his chest. `She's so beautiful. What did I do to deserve this?' He traced her cheek and jaw line with his hand as thought back to the day's events. He had mated with Kagome four times that day and it always ended with them holding each other close and drifting off into a sound sleep. His stomach's growls interrupted his thoughts; he had not eaten all day and wanted to but didn't want to leave Kagome's side. Yet he knew she would be safe so he decided to leave her to her sleep to find food.

 

He dressed quickly so that he wouldn't disturb Kagome and hurried down to where the dining hall was. When he entered the dining hall, he saw Neptune and Pluto talking quietly and drinking what he thought was tea but he wasn't sure. They looked up to see Inuyasha and Pluto gained a mischievous grin. “So how are you Inuyasha?” Pluto raised his eyebrows as if to signal something to Inuyasha, but he wasn't getting what the young prince was saying. Neptune looked over at her cousin and slugged him in his shoulder. “Ow!!!”

 

“Leave him alone.” Neptune sounded serious and a little irritated. Pluto looked at his younger cousin with confusion written all over his face.

 

“What? They `mated' or whatever; it's no big deal.” Inuyasha's eyes widen at Pluto's comment and he would have started blushing if Neptune wouldn't have redirected his attention.

 

“Pluto, Leave now.” Neptune stood as she glared down at her ignorant cousin.

 

“Nep?”

 

“Just leave Pluto.” Pluto got up and began to leave thinking it was best to leave his angry cousin be. “Oh and Pluto I will be talking to Snow and we'll see if she thinks `it's no big deal'.” Pluto turned and looked at Neptune as if she had just smacked him across the face. He left knowing that saying anything to her would be pointless because as much as he hated to admit she was wiser then him because she had to grow up to fast. Neptune returned to her seat when Pluto walked through the doors. She looked over at Inuyasha and motioned for him to sit next to her. Inuyasha wasn't sure how to react to Neptune's sudden protest to defend him.

 

Neptune motioned for a young unicorn servant whose name was Beauty to give Inuyasha food. He nodded to the unicorn in thanks as she left quickly after speaking with Neptune. Inuyasha couldn't understand what they were saying because he forgot the necklace that Uranus gave to him. He just noticed that the unicorn was gone and he was alone with Neptune. As he began to eat Inuyasha's mind began to fill with questions of what was to happen in the future. Neptune noticed the young hanyou was lost in thought she rose from her chair to get more to drink. Inuyasha snapped out of his daze to see Neptune enter the kitchen and return with her cup full of the dark liquid.

 

He noticed how much Neptune reminded him of his bastard half-brother, but he liked Neptune. Yet she wore the same emotionless face and eyes and said very little just like Sesshomaru. As Neptune returned to her seat, she noticed Inuyasha staring at her. “What Inuyasha?”

 

“Nothing. Why?” He couldn't help but snap at her, but Neptune just smiled.

 

“You're asking me why when you are the one whose mind is full of questions?”

 

“Huh?” Inuyasha was confused by what Neptune said.

 

“Inuyasha, I know that Pluto embarrassed you even though you would never admit to it. And you're wondering what the future holds for you and Kagome.” Inuyasha wasn't sure how to respond to her. She was right, but how did she know? He remember how Star told him that Neptune had been in this world longer then the others and that she was respected by all, but he couldn't remember anything about her being a mind reader. Neptune saw the confusion on Inuyasha's face a chuckled. “Inuyasha I only know these things because your actions are telling me.”

 

Inuyasha nodded as he began to understand what she meant. “I just don't understand how she would want to be with someone like me and now I'm worried about how I'm going to finish the whole bondage thing. I have to make deep cuts in Kagome and myself so we can exchange blood, but she could die if I mess up.” He looked down at the food in front of him. “I can't lose her again.”

 

“Maybe there's another way?”

 

“No. but I have to do that part of the ceremony before I mark her as mine. The mark will…”

 

“I know what the mark will mean Inuyasha.”

 

“You do?”

 

“Yes. It means that she is your and yours alone. It lets other demons know that she is taken and if anyone is to touch her then they will pay with their lives.”

 

“You sure do know a lot about thins stuff.”

 

“I have to.” Neptune looked down at her cup.

 

“What do you mean you have to?” Inuyasha saw the sadness in Neptune's eyes.

 

“Do you remember when Star told you about us being young ones?” Inuyasha nodded. “Well I am not truly a young one. I am what they call a chosen one.”

 

“Chosen one?” Inuyasha was really confused now.

 

“Yes. Like you Inuyasha, I was born from two people from two different backgrounds. My cousins inherited their immortal blood from out ancestors they were not born with it like you and I. My mother is human while my father was a Unicorn. My mother never knew that he was and neither did I. He died shortly after I was born and my mother has raised me in the mortal realm since. I however was found one day while playing outside my home by a Star-unicorn named Starlite. He noticed that I was a half-breed and took me here. I've trained with them and developed my abilities to the best of my potential. I still return home like Kagome does, but I also return to my duties here.” Inuyasha was floored by what Neptune told him. “Miroku has told me what the moonless nights do to you. During the nights of the full moon I have a hard time controlling my unicorn abilities so it makes life interesting.”

 

“So why are you telling me this?”

 

“Because Inuyasha you have no reason to be ashamed of who you are all the time and that you need to believe that you can do the bondage ceremony with Kagome and know that nothing will go wrong.” Neptune stood and began to leave.

 

“Guardian?”

 

“Yes, Inuyasha.”

 

“Was it hard growing up?”

 

“Terribly.”

 

“How did you make it?”

 

“I had a wonderful friend who helped me through and I now have a family who understands and wants to help.”

 

“Oh. Thanks for telling me your story.”

 

“Anytime Inuyasha. See you in the morning.” Neptune left Inuyasha with his thoughts of what she said. As she walked towards the room that her and Pluto shared an armored figure stepped out of the shadow.

 

“You can help him chosen one.” Neptune turned towards the figure.

 

“How Clantra?”

 

“Simple you grant a wish for him.”

 

“He didn't make a wish.”

 

“Oh but he did. He said that he wish there was another way to do the bondage ceremony.”

 

“He didn't say that directly.” Neptune wondered what the young goddess was up to.

 

“But it's still a wish Guardian. You can grant it for him and he will never have to hurt the girl or himself.”

 

“Why do you care Clantra? It's not like you to interfere with us `mortals'.”

 

“He reminds me of you Guardian and I don't want him to suffer like you did. His lover will not survive the bondage ceremony and he will have lost his true love. Just like a certain chosen one I know.”

 

“So I grant the wish then what?”

 

“Their blood will exchange with out the need to cut anyone and then they will return to their world and continue on with their lives. Think about it Guardian.” Clantra vanished leaving Neptune to ponder over what she said.

 

`If I help him then maybe there is hope that their love will survive. Tomorrow before they leave I will grant Inuyasha's wish but I'm going to need some help.' Neptune ran out of the castle and towards the woods to find the help she needed.
