Shattered happiness

Kagome’s POV

“Inuyasha I have to go home! I have to visit my cousin Integra and she lives in London!” Inuyasha growled angrily. “What! Where is this Londen that you talk about. You’re not going anywhere! You have jewel shards to find and we have to defeat Naraku!” Kagome glared at him and crossed her arms over her chest. “I haven’t seen my cousin since I was four and I finally am able to see her again. You’re not going to stop me from going to another country either! Osuwari!” She stomped off and jumped down into the bone eaters well.

As she climbed up from the well, Kagome could tell that something was amiss. “Something’s wrong here…” There was a longbow and a quiver of arrows that Kaede let her practice with in her time against the wall in the well house. She slung the quiver of arrows onto her back and gripped her bow tightly. ‘I sense evil auras around the shrine. They don’t feel like youkai though…what are they?’ Kagome was worried. She couldn’t feel Souta, her grandfather, or her mother’s aura at all.

As she walked around the shrine searching the grounds, things began to get more and more creepy. The auras that Kagome felt before were slowly surrounding her. She came to the Goshinboku and found what looked to be her sleeping grandfather. When she looked at his face, she yelled in anguish. “Oh ojiisan! Who did this to you!” Tears ran down her face as she gazed at his marred face. His eyes were gouged out and he had two small puncture wounds on the juncture of his neck. She gently lied him down against the Goshinboku and stood up. “I have to find mama and Souta before they end up like this…and I have to find the bastard that did this to grandpa!”

Two humanlike beings walked slowly towards Kagome. The only reason that you couldn’t call them human was that they had short fangs and blue skin. “What are you? Never mind, I won’t ask questions…” She fired two purifying arrows at both and waited to see what would happen. The ghouls didn’t turn into dust like she thought they would. They just fell to pieces and their heads exploded. ‘Parts of them are still left…I hope they aren’t regenerates..’ she ran to the house to see if anything was there.

Running through the whole house and looking in all of Souta’s hiding spots, Kagome could find hide nor hair of Souta or her mother. ‘Where are you two?’ A deafening screech resonated from outside where an ominous aura loomed. “That sounded like okaasan!” she ran out of the house as fast as she could and looked up to the top of the Goshinboku. A handsome silver haired man was standing on the top branch. He was holding two unconscious figures. “Oh my god! Mom Souta! What do you want with them?!! Bring them down now!”

The figure just smirked and gazed down at her. “You are what I want not them.” Kagome frowned. I would never go with you! Why do you want me for?” He just smirked. “If that’s your answer, find me in London. We’ll talk there.” He disappeared with Souta and Kun-loon in tow. Kagome was flabbergasted. “Where did they go? I’m going to London anyway…My bag’s at the door, I’ll just get it and leave.” grabbing her bag, she walked over to Yuka’s house hoping that she was home.

Yuka’s POV

‘I wonder if Kagome will come to the mall with us today? She’s been getting better lately…There was a knock on the door and she wondered who it was. “Hold on a minute…” Opening the door, she found a distraught Kagome on her doorstep. “Yuka…Can you drive me to the airport?” She nodded her head. “Let me get my keys.” Grabbing her keys she led Kagome around to the garage. The car was outside so they got in and she started it up. The drive to the airport was eerily quiet. Yuka was creeped out because this wasn’t like Kagome at all. “What’s the matter Kagome?” Kagome sighed softly. “I’m fine Yuka…I don’t want to talk about it.”

Yuka could accept that. She wouldn’t push Kagome if she didn’t want to talk about it. “Alright. If you want to talk about it later, just call me ok?” She looked into her rear view mirror at her. She nodded her head in agreement. They reached the airport twenty minutes later. “Arigato for this Yuka.” She smiled at her friend. Yuka smiled back at her. “It wasn’t any trouble at all Kagome. Sayonara.” She walked into the large airport and went to find her floor.

Kagome’s POV

“Walking down four floors Kagome reached the floor that she was supposed to be on. I found my floor finally! It was Hmm.. my gate is 204... Wandering around looking for the correct gate took a while. The airport was so crowded and it was hard to tell where she was. She was getting tired of searching so she asked the woman in front of her if she knew where her gate was. “Do you know where gate 204 is by any chance? I’m lost here.” the woman smiled. “Yes I know where it is. Follow me. I’m also going to Europe.” The small woman grabbed her hand and led her to the right gate. “Here we are…”

The two handed their tickets to the person at the check in counter, waited for the stubs and walked through the kiosk and towards the back of the terminal. Walking outside, they started to slowly walk onto the plane. “Where’s you’re seat at?” the blonde woman looked at her and replied “12A. Yours?” Kagome smiled “12B. We’re right next to each other!” The two walked down the aisle and sat down in their seats. “I don’t believe I told you my name yet. I’m Seras Victoria. Can I ask where you’re going in Europe?” Kagome turned from her window. “I don’t mind you asking. My name Is Kagome Higurashi by the way. I’m going to London to visit my cousin Integra Hellsing.” Seras’ eyes widened dramatically. ‘I didn’t know Sir Integra had a cousin! She seems weird…I don’t know how to put it…’

The rest of the passengers boarded the plane and sat down into their seats. A little bit later, the plane took off. “What a coincidence! I’m going to London as well. I work for Sir Integra and I can take you there when we arrive…” Kagome smiled happily at her “Thank you so much Seras. I thought I was going to have to call a cab or Integra was going to have to come down herself and get me…I know how busy she is and that would just interrupt her…” Seras shook her head. “Sir Integra would gladly come and get you Kagome! You are family and family means everything to her.”

“I haven’t seen her in twelve years…I wonder how much she’s changed…I have something to do in London as well…” Kagome whispered softly. Seras’ ears twitched. “You’d probably be surprised how cold and uncaring Sir Integra can seem. I know that she has a good heart underneath though. She is a strong woman and won’t let anyone pull her down.” Kagome glanced at Seras for a minute. ‘How could she have heard me?’ She smiled wryly. “Integra seems mostly like her old self. Hard headed, wouldn’t let anyone get her down from her goals, her dreams…Why do you call her Sir Integra?”

“A habit…she’s at the top of her profession in a man’s world and everyone calls them sir and she detests lady…” Kagome nodded her head. She could understand that. “Integra always seemed to be more of a tomboy than she was when they were children….She hated dresses and going to her ballet lessons with me…”

“That sounds just like Sir Integra…I’ve never seen her wear any kind of dress at all!” Seras exclaimed. Kagome yawned tiredly. “I’m going to take a nap for a while…Wake me up if dinner comes.” Seras nodded “Ok I’ll do that.” Kagome reached for her bag and unzipped it pulling out a pillow. She found a comfortable position and put the pillow behind her head. Closing her eyes she hoped that her dreams would be good ones.

Seras’ POV

‘This is weird…I’m getting a strange feeling from Kagome. It’s sort of like the feeling I get from Anderson but its not the same…’

It’s because she has Hellsing and holy blood in her veins as well Police Girl.’

‘Master? What do you mean? I know she’s Integra’s cousin but holy blood?’ Seras was very confused.

She is a priestess. She is the real thing not like the ones that you saw on your vacation…’

‘Master! Quit going through my head! She’s not a fake one then? So is she a threat to us?’

‘It depends upon her powers…and what she can do with them…’ Alucard replied thoughtfully.

‘So we’re just going to have to wait and see….’

Exactly Police Girl. I wonder how she’s going to react when she’s told that you’re a fledgling vampire? She probably knows that you aren’t human but doesn’t know what you are…’

Master, did you have to remind me about telling Kagome about myself being a fledgling? I was going to tell her when I was ready…

‘You know that she’s going to find out anyway. Being my Master’s cousin, she will be suspicious of the auras that she senses and she’ll go and investigate…I’ll let you choose what you’re going to do but Kagome will find the truth if you don’t tell her…’
you could hear the evil tone in his voice as it faded and Seras shivered. ‘What would Kagome do when she found out that I was a vampire?’

‘I’ll tell her but when I’m ready…’ Seras looked out the window from her seat and smiled as she saw some recognizable scenery. “Ooh…It’s the Alps! They’re so pretty!. Leaning back into her chair she smiled as she thought of returning home. “I’m glad that Sir Integra let me go on vacation for awhile…She said that I needed it to clear my head after that battle with Anderson…I miss Walter, master, even Pip…’

The stewardess came down with a huge silver cart piled with trays filled with food. As she stopped at their row, Seras shook Kagome awake. “Kagome…wake up. It’s time for dinner.” Kagome turned away from Seras and groaned. “I don’t want to get up…” Slowly she raised her head and blinked. She could smell oden. “Huh? Dinner? Where is it?” She sat up more and waited for the stewardess to ask them what they wanted. “What would you like girls?” Kagome smiled. “I would like the oden, rice and a glass of water please.” Seras just shook her head. “I’m not hungry…” It was the complete opposite for her. She had a small blood pack shoved into an insulated coffee container to keep it cold, but she had drained it earlier.

“Alright…here you go miss. She handed Kagome a tray with a bowl of oden, rice, and a glass of water. “Do you have any chopsticks?” The stewardess nodded and gave her a pair also giving her a spoon if she needed it. Kagome began to dig into the rice when the plane lurched to the left. Swallowing, she cursed uncharacteristically. “Turbulence sucks…” Seras nodded. “I was surprised. The flight was smooth until now.” Kagome began to eat again as the shaking stopped.

Kagome’s POV

“Mmm that was good! Do you know how long we have until we land Seras?” Seras shook her head “I’m not sure Kagome. We have an hour and a half at the most to wait…” Kagome nodded her head and looked above the cockpit to see if the ‘please fasten your seatbelts’ sign was on. It was dark. ‘Maybe I should read a book to pass the time…’ reaching under her seat for her small yellow bag, she unzipped it and pulled out The Chance of A Lifetime and began reading.

As she was really getting into the book, Kagome couldn’t help but compare the main character to herself. The girl looked a lot like her and had the same problems as herself as well. Her mirror image gets the attention of her crush and she gets shunned. She got interrupted as the pilot’s voice announced that the plane was close to landing. Please buckle your seatbelts. Thank you.” the intercom became silent and the passengers moved around back to their own seats to buckle their seatbelts.

The plane began its decent and Kagome was starting to get nervous. ‘What if that thing doesn’t keep his word and he’s not there? No…I have to go! I have to go and get Souta and mama back!’ As the plane touched the runway fully, Kagome and Seras looked out the window. “It looks nice right now. A perfect night for sightseeing. I have a feeling that the stars will be out tonight…” Seras looked at her with wonder. “You can tell if the stars will be out? How?” Kagome shook her head. “It’s just a strong feeling I get. Sometimes I’m completely off, but I’m either close or on the dot most of the time…”

----------------------------------------------- --------

“That’s amazing!” the plane came to a stop and it jerked a little. Five minutes later, the passengers were departing the plane. Entering the airport, they went through customs and walked over to baggage claim. Seras’ bags came first. She grabbed her two medium sized blue bags and waited for Kagome. When she saw all the things that she had brought her eyes widened. ‘A bow and a quiver of arrows? The bags are normal…why would she bring the bow and arrows?’ Kagome turned around and saw Seras staring at her bow and the quiver of arrows.

“You’re probably wondering why I brought a bow and arrows with me. I’m an archer and I practice to keep my skills sharp…” Kagome was about to hit herself her big mouth. She almost told Seras that she was a miko..” You’re more surprising every minute! I had no idea that you were an archer…Is that popular in Japan? Or is it a tradition that you wanted to keep going?” Kagome smiled softly. “It’s not popular in Japan. Only the shrine maidens really keep the tradition going steady…”she mentally cursed. Seras would know that she was a priestess now for sure!

“Oh that’s interesting…So were you taught by your mother the shrine maiden of your shrine? Do you keep the traditions going steady as well being a priestess?” Kagome groaned softly. She was trying to avoid this question at all cost. “I basically taught myself archery. I’m really not that good in keeping the traditions up because I’m busy with everything else. But when I’m not busy I help out wherever I can.”

Seras’ POV

“We should get going Kagome. We can talk more when we get to the mansion.” Kagome nodded and grabbed her bags. Walking outside, the two found a black limousine waiting for them. Walter rolled down the window of the right side of the limo and motioned them to get in. “Come on Miss Victoria, Miss Higurashi. It won’t be long until we get to the mansion.”

After the two got into the limo, it sped off. “Walter, why did Sir Integra send you here? And why did she send the limo?” Walter chucked at her confused expression. “It was a last minute thing. I offered to go and escort you two home instead of Pip.” Seras shuddered. Sure she liked Pip and all, but he was such a pervert around her…”I think that was a good idea you made Walter.”

“I thought that you would appreciate it…Miss Higurashi, how long are you staying in London? Sir Integra didn’t tell me how long and it would help the kitchen staff out to know.” Kagome frowned. “Integra didn’t tell you? I’m coming to stay with you for three months at least…” she trailed off and began to think of her friends in the feudal era. ‘I didn’t tell them how long I was going to visit Integra…Plus we still have to find the jewel shards and defeat Naraku…It shouldn’t be a problem though…Naraku hasn’t made any appearances these past months…’ Walter shook his head. “Hmm…now that I think about it, I remember Sir Integra mentioning this briefly but she didn’t go into detail…”

The limo pulled to a stop and the three got out. Kagome’s eyes widened as she looked at the huge mansion. “Whoa. It looks even bigger than it did when I was three.”

The group walked up the steps and up to the large doors. Opening the large doors, she looked in amazement at the décor. “It’s beautiful…” Kagome whispered. She left her bags at the door and walked around looking everywhere that her eyes took her. “It really has changed…I expected it to, but it just got even more extravagant in taste…”

Integra’s POV

“I’m glad that it still takes your breath away Kagome…My father’s taste in décor was starting to bug me so I decided to redecorate some rooms.” she walked down the long staircase, staring at her cousin.

Kagome waited for Integra to reach the bottom of the staircase and ran to her. As she reached her, Kagome encased her in a bone crushing hug. “I missed you so much Integra!” she began to sob lightly. ‘Something’s wrong…she seems sad…’ bringing her gloved hand under Kagome’s chin, she gently had her look up at her. “What’s wrong?” Kagome shook her head sadly. “Can we talk about it later? Alone?”

“That’s fine. Let’s get you settled in then. Walter, Give Kagome the room next to mine.” Walter picked up one of Kagome’s bags and waited for her to pick up her other three. “This way Miss Higurashi.”

‘So that was your cousin eh? I’m going to have so much fun scaring her…’ Integra growled or as much as a human could anyway. “You will do no such thing Alucard. She will most likely slap you, put a rosary on you and then shoot you with an arrow. She was always good with scaring off the bullies…” Alucard snickered. “Better than you master?” he asked. He didn’t wait for an answer and disappeared. Integra sighed. “I don’t know what I’m going to do when Kagome meets Alucard for the first time…”

I hope that you liked it! I couldn’t get it out of my head so I just decided to type it and see what happened. I’m thinking about typing the first chapter of another crossover I’ve been thinking about writing too…
