Blood was everywhere. It was splattered on the wall all over the concrete. It was everywhere and it covered everything. There on the porch was a body, a man’s body to be exact. She slowly crept towards and rolled it, well what was left of it, over with her hands. She screamed in terror at the sight it presented. The man’s eyes were dangling out of his head, while blood oozed out of his eye sockets, and blood pooled onto the ground staining it as a reminder. His jaw bone was ripped off and the man’s tongue was half way cut off. She looked over the rest of him. His right arm and left leg were missing. His right leg had a massive chunk of skin and muscle missing and all you could see there was more blood and bone. Half of that poor man’s left arm was ripped off and lost somewhere in the carnage. The flesh that adorned his ribs had, what looked like, been burned off and you could smell the rotten burnt flesh littered the air. The little girl covered her mouth and nose with her bloodied hands. She was trying so hard not to gag all over this man’s body. This young girl backed away eyes wide as she realized that the body that lay on her families porch was her…
Yuko shot up gasping for breathe. She had silent tears streaming down her face. After a while Yuko had finally calmed her breathing. She wrapped her arms around her knees and brought them up to her chest and buried her face with in her legs. Her hair falling around her like a curtain. Her body was shaking with silent sorrowful sobs, and Yuko couldn’t stop till she forgot about what happened. Yuko lifted her head and stared into the dark silent void that was her bedroom.
“ I hate reliving that day… I just want it to all go away.” she sobbed a whisper.
Taking in a shaky breathe she got out of bed and stood up, then she made her discreet descent downstairs. It was still dark, which meant it was early morning, around 1 0r 2 o’clock. Walking off the stairs, Yuko headed to her fathers den. Upon arriving she heard the almost silent whispers of her mother talking.
“ What is she still doing up?” Yuko whispered bewildered.
Yuko cracked open the door a little and listened to what her mother was saying. She heard the whispering variations from louder and softer.
“ Nathan, please. I need help with raising her daughter..” her mother whimpered. “ She keeps coming in later and later. She’s lying to me and I can feel it. I know she’s not my biological daughter, but I’m scared and I just cant control her.”
Sighing Yuko closed the door, she had heard enough. Turning and walking towards the kitchen. Yuko walked into the kitchen and strolled over to the sink and opened the small window. The cold morning air bushed against her warm skin, it felt good against her arms. She walked over to the black double door refrigerator and started to look through it trying to find something to snack on. As she continued looking her stomach growled with unrelenting hunger. Sighing she grabbed some strawberry-cheesecake yogurt. Closing the door yuko saw a shadowed figure in the kitchen entry-way. Her heart started to beat rapidly , but soon calmed when she saw it was her cat, Saru. The black cat sauntered its lithe little body wound its way through and around her legs, meowing loudly and happily. After that, Saru slinked and slipped out of her cat door and ran down the street, disappearing into the shadows.
Yuko chuckled silently and walked to the dinning room and sat down at the cherry-wood table to eat her yogurt. When she sat down she started to think about why no one could go outside after sunset.
