Slaves
With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high
Can you hear your people cry:
Help us now
This dark hour...
Deliver us
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land...
With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high
Can you hear your people cry:
Help us now
This dark hour...
Deliver us
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land...
The slave village comes into view….crying women scream at the guards and block their doorways. They throw the aside and take all of their newborn male babes. One woman in her hut comes into view crying with two other children.
Yocheved
Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
(My good and tender son)
Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad
(Don't be frightened and don't be scared)
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us
Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
(My good and tender son)
Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad
(Don't be frightened and don't be scared)
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us
As the guards go to the hut next to them they run but keeping in the shadows. They pass the slaves as they run to the river. Her daughter with basket in hand. The look at the slaves pitifully and keep running. Their song gives them a reason to run.
Slaves
Deliver us
Hear our prayer
Deliver us
From despair
These years of slavery grow
too cruel to stand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us
Out of bondage and
Deliver us to the promised land...
Deliver us
Hear our prayer
Deliver us
From despair
These years of slavery grow
too cruel to stand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us
Out of bondage and
Deliver us to the promised land...
They approach the river. Her daughter opens the basket and puts it onto the ground. Her mother rocks her baby son. She covers him with her scarf and put her son into the basket. We finally get a good look at the baby. A little plump but the most adorable, gold-eyed, silver haired, hanyou baby you have ever seen. He grabs his mother's finger while laughing.
Yocheved
Hush now, my baby
Be still, love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
He falls asleep as she puts the top on the basket. She lets out a sob as her son and daughter reassure her that it's the only way. She walks into the river while drying her tears.
Yocheved
River, o river
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
he can live free?
River, deliver him there...
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
he can live free?
River, deliver him there...
One solitary rolls down her cheek as she falls to her knees in the water. As her mother and brother start to walk back, she still sees the basket so follows. The basket flows gently, but then a crocodile comes and bites down on the basket. But a hippo comes and knocks it away before its can break the weave. But the problem is that now all the hippos are trying to eat it. But the basket manages to dodge all of them. Waves are bigger now and the basket rolls towards a boat. “No!” His sister yells! The basket weaves between every paddle, but at the last one its hits it full force and bonks through a curtain. The pharaohess comes into view with her son. He reaches for a flower. She picks it up and hands it to him. The basket comes near her and she tightens her grip on her son. The babies' sister gasps in horror as she puts her son down and opens the basket. She smiles as the baby grabs his foot and looks completely adorable. She picks him up and gets disapproving looks from her ladies-in-waiting. She stares them down and looks upon the baby.
His sister lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. Then she stares at him happily, still unseen by the pharaohess.
Young Sister
Brother, you're safe now
And safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you:
Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us, too...
Brother, you're safe now

Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us, too...
She sings as she walks away. The pharaohess walks towards her husbands temple. Her son reaches up. “Mommy.” “Come Sesshomaru. Lets go show pharaoh your new brother, Inuyasha.” She says as she continues to walk. The view of all the slaves working comes into view while they end their working song.
Slaves
Deliver us
Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised land
Deliver us
Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised land
Somewhere in the distance Yocheved calls out to where ever her son is.
Yocheved
Deliver us!
