Referee: You know how we want it, so, with any a due, I say, `Let's get it on.'

 

(The bell rings and both warrior burst into action. Kagura scowls angrily and she waves her fan sending `Dance of Blades' flying toward Twilight. Twilight easily jumps out of the way of the `blades' and launches an attack of her own. Kagura's eyes open wide with fear and she barely dodges the attack. After the dust from Twilight's attack settles a huge section of the ring is gone.)

 

Sesshoumaru: She is better than I thought.

 

Kurama: Wooden sword, rose, there's not much difference.

 

(Yusuke just looks into the ring his mouth hanging open. Hiei smirks as Sazuka hits the ground running toward Kagura who still looks at the hole in the ring disbelieving.)

 

Naraku: Kagura!

 

(Kagura turns to see Sazuka running toward her, poison coursing through her eyes. Kagura lifts her fan high into the air.)

 

Kagura: Dance of Blades!!!

 

(The `blades' fly toward Sazuka but she swings her sword causing them to rebound back at Kagura who just stares blankly. The `blades' nearly hit her but she jumps out of the way. She reaches for a feather from her hair when Naraku growls. She looks down at him and sees her heart in his hand.)

 

Naraku: Don't you dare run.

 

(Kagura lowers her hand from the feathers and swings her fan again sending three tornadoes flying toward Sazuka. Sazuka cuts through one easily only to be picked up by another. Kagura looks back toward Naraku for a second before swinging her fan again, sending more tornadoes flying around the arena. She starts swinging her fan blindly into the tornadoes sending out countless `Dances' and smirking. She eventually stops and waits for the dust to settle and reveal the dead body of her opponent.)

 

Kagura: Nobody could survive that.

 

Rin: Lady Sazuka…

 

Sesshoumaru: The wind sorceress is a candle in the wind to Sazuka.

 

Hiei: You think he's right?

 

Kurama: Look for yourself.

 

(The dust begins to disperse and a few people notice a flicker of movement here or there and here explosions and Kagura's pain filled cries.)

 

Bankotsu: That is a sword fighter.

 

Kagome: Did she really survive that so easily?

 

Aisha: She is far more skilled than you know. I can't believe it actually took her that long to defeat Kagura.

 

Inuyasha: Oh, come now. You can't really think Kagura is that pathetic? She can't already be finished.

 

(Aisha merely points toward the ring where Twilight stands over Kagura's body.)

 

Naraku: Pathetic.

 

(He is about to crush Kagura's heart when her seemingly broken form moves. Twilight looks down at the demon surprised.)

 

Sazuka: Amazing. You're far better than I would have ever expected.

 

(Kagura yells out madly and sends a `dance of blades' flying at Twilight point-blank. Twilight tries to defend herself but is tossed high into the air. Kagura slowly rises and fires a tornado at Twilight who is sucked into the vortex and savagely thrown to the ground. She slams into the floor and the stone ring cracks on the point of her impact.)

 

Kagura: I told you, nothing but a pathetic mortal.

 

(Twilight uses her sword to rise to her feet and rushes at Kagura who turns around in time to see the fire in Twilight's eyes as she cuts through Kagura's body [she can cut through a steel door with her sword, a body should be nothing].)

 

Twilight: Never underestimate me.

 

(Kagura's eyes widen as she falls in two pieces of the cold stone floor. Twilight looks down at Kagura and walks out of the ring.)

 

Referee: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. It's obvious who won this one. Let's hear it for Twilight Sazuka.

 

(Sazuka exits the ring coldly and walks toward Melfina who smiles at her.)

 

Melfina: That was…umm…a good fight.

 

Sazuka: Thanks, did you bring my clothes like I asked.

 

(Melfina points to a box lying three feet from her in the grass and smiles.)

 

Sazuka: Thanks.

 

(Sazuka grabs another set of clothes and heads toward the hall. Dende tries to stop her as she walks but she merely points to the ring.)

 

Dende: Are you sure you don't need any healing?

 

Sazuka: I'm fine.

 

Dende: But…

 

(Sazuka just walks into the darkness of the hallway and Dende turns around and runs into the ring.)

 

Dende: God, I'm never going to get an easy one.

 

Kagome: That was crazy. I feel sorry for whoever has to fight her next.

 

Sango: Well, worry about that later. I'm fighting next.

 

Riho: The sun is down deep on the horizon. You think they'll wait for the moon to rise?

 

Shido: Probably. Don't let her little form fool you. She is definitely strong.

 

Riho: Obviously, look at her weapon.

 

Shido: I know you can beat her.

 

Miroku: Be careful, who knows what powers she's got.

 

Sango: Oh, come on. I fight demons all the time; she can't be able to do anything too outlandish.

 

Miroku: I guess you have a point.

 

Announcer: The next fight will be in about half an hour. Sango and Riho will be the fighters. It will be the last fight of the day. Tomorrow shall be the men's turn to fight. The replacement for Kiba will be revealed tomorrow.

 

(Sazuka walks back on the field and hands her bloody clothes to Melfina who puts them into another box.)

 

Melfina: Don't do too much of that, you don't have very many pairs.

 

(Kagura's body reconnects and she stands wavering slightly.)

 

Dende: Yeah, you may be like that for a little while.

 

Kagura: Why?

 

Dende: Well, you were split in…

 

Inuyasha: She doesn't mean that.

 

Dende: Oh.

 

(He goes to say something to her but she merely walks away, passing Naraku who scowls at her angrily. He gets rid of her heart without damaging it.)

 

Naraku: Pathetic.

 

(Kagura turns toward him angrily and explodes.)

 

Kagura: You couldn't have done any better you worthless piece of hanyou shit!

 

(Naraku is taken back a second and all eyes fall on them. He holds her heart in his hand again and his claws slide along it. He smacks Kagura sending her to the ground.)

 

Naraku: You forget your place. You are part of me, don't forget that.

 

Kagura: You hold me prisoner. You just wish you were a true demon as I.

 

Naraku: True demon? Don't kid yourself Kagura, you are nothing. Without me you would never have existed…and by my hand you could easily be what you once were.

 

Kagura: Why do you hold my heart so firmly if I am so little, if I am, as you said, nothing?

 

Naraku: Are you trying to say I fear you?

 

Kagura: I'm saying nothing; I am merely pointing out what seems so blatantly obvious.

 

(Naraku smirks slightly and pulls Kagura close to him.)

 

Naraku: Don't flatter yourself.

 

(Kagura struggles futilely against Naraku's iron grip. He smiles as he slams his hand deep into Kagura's chest. She cries out in pain and squirms painfully as he turns his clawed hand in her chest. He pulls his hand out savagely and drops her to the floor smiling deviously.)

 

Naraku: So come then, if you truly feel I cannot defeat you without your heart in my hand.

 

(Kagura spits blood up onto the grass and moans as the wound in her chest heals.)

 

Naraku: Come on, what's yours is actually yours now. So, I have no protection against you, what are you going to do with your newfound freedom.

 

(Kagura puts her hand on her chest and feels something she had never felt before; she feels the beating of her heart.)

 

Naraku: Come on, bitch, show me what you have!

 

(Kagura jumps up and is about to swing her fan when Naraku grabs her arm mid-swing. He snaps it easily and smiles and she cries out.)

 

Naraku: Gonna have to do better than that.

 

Kagura: Damn it!

 

(She resets her arm yelping as the bone snaps back into place. She knows her arm still can't be used, though, so she switches her fan to her other arm and fires a `dance of blades' at Naraku who knocks the `blades' away from himself. Inuyasha is about to enter the fight but Kagura sends a `dance of blades' toward him.)

 

Kagura: I don't need your help.

 

Naraku: You should have accepted help from the dog.

 

(Naraku's body transforms into a huge combination of the many demons contained within his body. Huge spikes sprout from his back and he slams them at Kagura who barely escaped the deadly limbs. Suddenly one of the huge spikes slams through Kagura's leg causing her to scream shrilly. Inuyasha pulls out Tetsusaiga and his muscles tighten as he gets ready to fire a windscar at Naraku. Instead though, he sees something quickly move past his line of vision and hears Naraku yell painfully. He sees Sesshoumaru holding Kagura in his arms. Naraku transforms back into human form and looks at Sesshoumaru angrily.)

 

Naraku: We were playing. This isn't your game.

 

Sesshoumaru: Don't mess with me Naraku. I warn you now.

 

Naraku: Of course, Lord Sesshoumaru. I give you the wind sorceress in hope our relationship can be mended.

 

(Sesshoumaru sets Kagura down and turns at Naraku, his teeth barred.)

 

Sesshoumaru: Keep pushing me and you will die, hanyou.

 

Naraku: I am so…

 

(Sesshoumaru eyes flash red as he pulls Toukijin and places the blade to Naraku's throat.)

 

Announcer: Five minutes until the next match. Fighters Sango and Riho please report to the ring.

 

Shido: Be careful in there Riho. I know you can do it.

 

Kagome: You've got this Sango.

 

(Kirara growls but Sango pushes her down.)

 

Sango: Not this time.

 

Riho: Good luck, you'll need it.

 

Sango: You too.

 

(Both of the walk into the ring and smile as the moon reaches it's peak in the night sky.)
